Best RV Parks & Resorts near Ophir, OR

Several RV parks surround Ophir along the Oregon coast. Turtle Rock RV Resort operates year-round with full hookups including 50-amp electric service, water and sewer connections for larger rigs. Secret Camp RV Park offers 50-amp electric service in a forested setting along the Rogue River, providing more spacious sites. Ireland's Ocean RV Park features ocean-adjacent sites with 30/50-amp hookups, laundry facilities, and a dump station, though the spaces can be challenging for larger vehicles. "Sites are a little tight to get into for larger rigs," according to one visitor.

Seasonal considerations affect availability at these coastal parks, with summer months requiring reservations well in advance. Most parks remain open year-round, though winter storms can impact travel conditions along Highway 101. Cell service varies considerably between parks, with T-Mobile coverage described as "very spotty" at several locations. Pet policies generally permit dogs with standard restrictions, though some parks enforce specific rules. Dump stations are available at nearly all facilities, while propane fill services are limited in the immediate area. Oceanside RV Park provides additional amenities including a camp store for essential supplies, while Indian Creek RV Park offers 24-hour laundry facilities that travelers find convenient.

    Ireland's Ocean RV Park

Really nice park for a short stay

Literally 100 feet from the beach, this tiny campground offers full hookups, 50 amp for 4 sites (the rest are 30 amp), a conveniently located, clean and tidy bathrooms with showers, a laundry and well-cared-for sites. Our 40-foot rig fit nicely into a pull-through and though our 20-foot truck would have fit fine diagonally, they have a free overflow parking area mere feet away. I don't know if it's the case year-round but they are set up to allow you to look at all of the available sites and pick the one you like. That was fun! Great to discover there was a 50-amp available AND it was a pull-through! Super convenient, great vibe here. Highly recommended for anyone that loves strolling on the endless beach and combing for rocks and shells. Terrific. Also walkable to Gold Beach. If you want to do any hiking, pop in your car and there are many options near by!

You will need to be aware that this is an old park. Things are rusting and need to be replaced, but it's a super place to stay. They could put about $20k into the place to make it up to snuff but no complaints here, it's so peaceful and tucked away!

    Driftwood RV Park

Basic Cramped RV Park, a Block From Ocean

We didn't stay here, but we checked it out while staying at Beachfront RV across the street.

All sites are full hookup, with 30 and 50 amp power, cable, and wifi.

There is laundry and free showers on site.  $49/night with monthly and long term rates available.  Your RV must be 10 years or newer, or you can send them a photo if you have a vintage or older RV.

The park is located in the busy port area, with cars driving by, people coming and going to the day use area to go fishing and hang out at the beach, the coast guard station across the street, as well as several restaurants and gift shops in easy walking distance.

Cell reception is good in this area for all 3 carriers.

Bandon by the Sea RV Park

    Nice RV Park

Very nice RV Park. Ladies at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. Good WiFi, cable and AT&T cell service. Concrete pads level to park the camper on. We had a back in slot but there were pull-thrus also, full campground. Clean bathroom / shower. More long term campers than I expected but all were very friendly. Next to Hwy 101 but didnt notice much traffic noise. No playground for the kids but there was a open area to throw some baseballs around. Visited during circles in the sand. Great beach to explore.

    Cape Blanco State Park Campground

    Camp with a Lighthouse

I have been camping at Cape Blanco State Park for years. This campground is located on the Southern Oregon coast outside of Port Orford, OR.

The campground does not take reservations and can have low availability during peak summer season. Cabins are available to reserve. The campground has free showers, flush toilets, sinks, firewood for sale, and beach access. The sites have full hookups, fire pits, tables, and very long paved drives. A bikers' camp, group camp, and horse camp are also available.

It is very windy here, but the plants surrounding the sites keep out most of the coastal wind and also provide plenty of privacy from other sites. Be prepared for cold weather and misty air. Dump station is under construction and not open for use right now.

    Boice-Cope Campground

    Lots of little luxuries

    —————INTERNET—————

Verizon via iPhone 12: 29 mbps down and 0.48 mbps up with 38 ms ping. T-Mobile: No signal.

CAMPGROUND WIFI - 18 mbps down and 18 mbps up with 21 ms ping. There were 5 campsites in use.

    ——REASONS I STAYED HERE——

    I specifically chose this campground.

    1. It was somewhat close to my upcoming vacation spot in Bandon.
    2. I had to work a ton and needed internet.
    3. The campground has laundry facilities.
    4. Has showers.

    —————BASIC FAQ—————

    [Rig. Mercedes Sprinter. 22 feet]

Dump station? - Yes, but for a fee

Water fill? - Yes, but for a fee

    Clean site? - Yes

    Clean bathroom? - Yes

    Flush toilet? - Yes

    Showers? - Yes, coin operated

    Laundry? - YES!

    Dish washing sink? - No

    —————PROS—————

    • The campground hosts (there’s 2) are super friendly and social. Their dogs are super cute too.
    • The campground is within walking distance of the beach and also a lake. We did a lot of nature watching while sitting at the bench by the lake.
    • The campsites are all black-top paved. Take the campsite size to heart. If it’s listed for 21 feet then it’s only 21 feet long.
    • The SHOWERS. Each round of shower costs $1.50 for 6 minutes for delightfully hot water and good pressure. The shower rooms are individual rooms outside. There’s two. The one I used has a place to hang your bag, a table to set your wet toiletry bottles on, a chair to put my dry clothes on (or sitting) and a trash can. I cannot emphasize how nice it was to have the trash can in the shower room.
    • The women’s bathroom is clean and also has a space heater running. How wonderfully, comfortable.
    • The laundry room. We used it a lot. There’s a quarter exchange machine for $1 and $5 bills. There’s a small vending machine with basic laundry cleaning items. The washers I think were $2 and the dryer was 25¢ for 8 minutes. There’s a table where you can fold your laundry and also work on your laptop like I did. The Wi-Fi signal is really good in there. (My speedtest was actually done at my campsite 19.) Bring a cleaning cloth to clean the table as it gets dusty and a wee bit sandy (it’s still a campground). The laundry room also has a space heater.
    • Firewood is for purchase for $5.

    —————CONS—————

    • The dump station was expensive. We didn’t use it. It’s $10 for campers and $30 for non-campers.
    • For those that care, there’s virtually no privacy at the campsites. It’s a communal sort of campground. Just be aware. We didn’t mind but there was also only 5 campsites in use.

    —————OVERALL—————

4.5-stars - The dump station is the culprit but if you have a small rig, do like a van I saw. Put a bucket under the grey tank valve, collect the grey water and dump it in the dish water drains that are throughout the campground. 👌

    Turtle Rock RV Resort

Great for long or short term stay

I stayed here over the winter. The staff is great. They have a monthly rate in the winter months. They have tiny homes for rent, propane, laundry, a little store, and sites with hot tubs. The sites all have nice grassy patches, a picnic table, and a fire pit. There is a path to the beach/ocean. It’s a couple of minutes walk from any site there. Ranging from 2 to 5 minutes depending on how far your site is from the path. Everyone is pretty relaxed. Just a few people are permanent residents and I was one of the longest stays for the winter. It’s generally pretty quiet. They have a dog park. It’s a great place. I’d highly recommend it.

    Indian Creek RV Park

Good for a stop over to do the Mailboat trip but not a destination

Staff is friendly, restrooms and park clean. Mostly long term and seasonal campers for fishing using almost all pull throughs. Spots left over are weirdly arranged. Generally quiet at night, but noisy with residents talking loud (quiet colorfully) and many dogs barking during the day. Overall the stay was fine but there are better choices in the area.

    Humbug Mountain State Park Campground

Mountains and beach in one experience

This was the best state park we have ever stayed at! It is in high demand, so you have to book out in advance if you'd like to stay multiple nights. We were able to get 2 nights, but had to move sites

We have a 37' travel trailer, and had no problem backing in, and the second night had a pull through site. The sites are spacious with a fire pit and picnic table, and room for a second vehicle. The second night we were closer to the beach entrance which was nice, but the highway traffic was a little loud.

The bathroom facilities were the cleanest I had been in at a state park, and each campground had park hosts who were very helpful and actually clean the sites up for turnaround.

Our favorite part was the private beach, with a creekside that is a little more tame for little children. Would love to come back!

    Beachfront RV Park

    Quaint

Pretty location close to town, beach goes on for miles in either direction and campsites are located practically on the sand. The downside is the beach is usually busy and not much can be found unless you’re an early riser. Beach is pet friendly and rv is usually the best accommodations here.

Guide to Ophir

Along the southern Oregon coast, campsites near Ophir sit between the Pacific Ocean and dense forest areas. The climate remains mild year-round with summer temperatures averaging 65-70°F, though coastal fog can roll in quickly. Many campgrounds in this area feature riverfront locations where the Rogue River meets the ocean, creating unique fishing opportunities.

What to do

Beach combing: 100 feet from Ireland's Ocean RV Park, visitors can walk along Gold Beach to search for rocks and shells. "Highly recommended for anyone that loves strolling on the endless beach and combing for rocks and shells," notes Janet B., who appreciates the park's proximity to town.

Fishing expeditions: At Cougar Lane Lodge & RV, the location near Rogue River attracts many anglers. "Very nice park, close to Rogue River so lot's of fisherman. Store and Restaurant right there," explains Tim H., who also mentions that "Only AT&T cellphones have signal there."

Kayaking: Hunter Creek at Turtle Rock RV Resort offers protected waters for paddling. "Hunter Creek looks like a great sheltered place to kayak," observes David M., who also appreciates the "full hookups including sewer and... dump station. Cable TV hookups were a nice plus."

What campers like

Beach access: Secret Camp RV Park provides a forested setting with river proximity. "This little RV park is a hidden Gem tucked along the Rogue River. The campground is kept up very nicely, with beautiful trees and lush greenery around," reports Alison C., who enjoyed streaming Netflix when "rained in."

Winter camping options: Turtle Rock RV Resort accommodates long-term winter visitors. "I stayed here over the winter. The staff is great. They have a monthly rate in the winter months," shares Ashley K., who adds, "They have tiny homes for rent, propane, laundry, a little store, and sites with hot tubs."

Convenience to attractions: Port Orford provides a central location for coastal exploration. "Close to Port Orford - check out the Crazy Norwegian for some great eats in town! Quiet, clean and very well done," recommends Mimi from Port Orford RV Village, noting its value as a "Great location and price for exploring the area."

What you should know

Tent camping limitations: Most rv sites near Ophir, Oregon primarily accommodate RVs with fewer options for tent campers. "I found this site on the Dyrt before my trip as I was looking for a campsite for my Oregon Coast road trip," explains Kinsey at Turtle Rock RV Resort, but felt "awkward as the only tent camper in the center of a ton of RVs."

Site layout variations: Some campgrounds feature unusual configurations. At Indian Creek RV Park, Laura M. describes how "sites are weirdly situated, with a row of small spaces all along the fence ($25/night), and several circles throughout the center where multiple RVs share the same gazebo & sink ($33/night)."

Wind considerations: Coastal locations experience significant wind. Robert R. notes that at Oceanside RV Park, "The only reason this got four stars instead of five is the incredible wind that comes off the ocean almost every day. Not unusual to have it 20 miles per hour gusting to 35 or 40."

Tips for camping with families

Beachfront tent options: Some campgrounds offer direct beach access for tent camping. "This is mostly an RV Park and cabin rentals but there are 4 tent spots right on the beach that are phenomenal. You feel like you have your own place on the beach," reports Alicia F. at Oceanside RV Park, though she cautions about rain exposure.

Recreation facilities: Indian Creek RV Park provides family-friendly amenities. "This campground has it all. Full hookups, a store, a great little cafe, bathrooms, picnic tables," according to Brittney G., who recommends it as a "Popular campground that is great for families."

Entertainment options during rainy weather: Indoor activities help during coastal storms. Michael S. appreciates that Indian Creek RV Park has "GREAT amenities and super friendly hosts! A nice cafe and store as well as showers and spacious tent sites. Wifi and computer access as well as a printer for guest use."

Tips from RVers

Sewer connection placement: At Ireland's Ocean RV Park, sewer hookups require planning. "The sewer connections are in some strange places, mostly in front of the RV by quite aways," reports Patrick J., noting that at adjacent sites, "our neighbors sewer was right next to our picnic table on the camp side."

Site selection strategy: Some rv sites near Ophir, Oregon work better for certain rig sizes. Jenni C. cautions that at Indian Creek RV Park, "sites are tight, could step on picnic table as you opened your door," suggesting travelers should request specific sites when making reservations.

Spacing considerations: Campgrounds vary in site density. Lee's freelance M. describes Indian Creek RV Park as having "Very full campground parked in like sardines. Mainly fishing guys. Some are guides and will take you out fishing the rogue river," while noting it remains "Clean park" with "Reasonable rate around $40÷/- for full hookup."
