Best RV Parks & Resorts near Minster, OH

Several RV campgrounds operate within 30 miles of Minster, Ohio. Poor Farmer's Campground in Fletcher provides electric and water hookups, with some full hookup sites available. Most camping areas accommodate both small and large rigs, with big-rig friendly options at Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort in South Charleston featuring 210 sites with 30/50 amp electric service. Grand Lake St. Marys State Park offers paved pull-through sites with electric hookups, though the sites are positioned relatively close together. Dayton KOA Holiday in Brookville maintains 223 sites with full hookups and can accommodate larger RVs. "Our site was a little bit muddy but no big deal. We were right by the restrooms which were nice, they have a nice dump station and lots for the kids to do."

The campground infrastructure varies significantly throughout the region. Pull-through sites at Grand Lake St. Marys provide easier access for larger rigs, while some parks offer more back-in sites that require careful maneuvering. Dump stations are available at most parks, though not all locations provide sewer hookups at individual sites. Seasonal variations affect availability, with several campgrounds operating from April through October. Cell service is generally reliable throughout the area. While Grand Lake St. Marys offers amenities like a pool and splash pad, visitors should note water quality concerns. A recent review mentioned, "The entire lake stinks of pig poop. All the air smells like poo," indicating potential odor issues during warmer months that might affect outdoor enjoyment at lakeside RV sites.

    Blue Water Campground

    Our stay at bluewater

The staff is extremely friendly, and try to accomadate with anything you could need. The campesites are fairly large with gravel pads. They offer water and electric hook-up for 30&50 amps. There is not a sewer hook up but they do offer a weekly pump out for a small fee and a dump station on the way out. The pool, ponds, playground and pavillion are all within walking distance from almost any site.

    Kiser Lake State Park Campground

    Quiet Park

This park is know for the lake that is kayak and canoe friendly since it doesn’t allow any kind of boat with a motor. It also features a beach , 2 playgrounds and several hiking trails. Just be careful if you hike with dogs since some trails intersect with a nature preserve which doesn’t allow pets.

The campground itself has 20 electric sites , 56 primitive sites and 4 camper cabins. All the electric sites are pull through and all sites have a fire pit but only the electric sites come with picnic tables.

Due to off season and COVID the camp store is closed and there is no camper host or park office staff around.

We did notice lots of downed trees on the poorly marked hiking trails. Some trails just started but no maps were around and no trails were blazed. It was hard to tell where we were headed or how long a trail was. I tried using the new Detour app and it wasn’t very accurate for this park.

We did have good Verizon cell coverage.

    Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort

    Great Park

We decided to stay here last minute. Read the reviews and went for it. 45’ Prevost w/toad. Pull through we were assigned had very low hanging tree limbs. I called the office and asked if we could use space 41 instead. No problem! Everything is clean, well cared for, and really pretty. We did not use the showers, laundry, or pool. Cost was EXCELLENT for a pull through, full hookups, and 50 amp service. Yes, there are people staying full time, but each space is well taken care of with pride it seems.

Arrowhead Lake RV Park & Campground

Just a visit to check it out

The pool looked to be the spot for the kids of all ages on this hot 4th of July. A well manicured campground, and while looking a bit narrow, it seemed some pull thrus for big rigs were adequate, with concrete pads and picnic tables. But all the driveways and pull thrus were gravel. Lots of seasonal trailers, and some large ones! No junk, and golf carts are restricted to electric.

    Buck Creek State Park Campground

    Great quiet site

A well manicured campground just outside Dayton, easy to get to, back in pavement site with 30A electric, picnic table and fire pit. Plenty of potable water spigots around, just not at the site. Dump station near the entrance of the campground. Walking trails along the lake well cared for. Plenty of activity with playground and an outdoor theater. Plenty of water-front pebble beach for enjoyment in the summer. Close to the campground is the marina with a restaurant , but won’t open til Memorial Day.

Addendum: July 2021 - was speaking with a number of people who have been here and they suggest not going during the summer. There is a large influx of rowdy locals who don't quite respect the peace and quiet many of us like.

    Archway Campground

    Quaint Stop Over

Owner is a kind old man. Escorted us to our site and helped us pull in. 30 and 50 amp hook ups available. No sewer hookups but dump station onsite. Mostly pull through sites with lots of room between campers. Great location, right off I-70. Lowes, Walmart, Menards, and Dollar General very close by. Almost every restaurant or food type that you can think of close by. Fishing pond onsite that also allows swimming. Restrooms/showers very basic and dated. 5 stars for what it is. Not fancy, 5 stars for what it is. Family owned, no frills campground. Relaxing mom and pop campground with owners that go the extra mile to accommodate guests.
