    Indian Brave Campground

    Trains

Nice little place that’s open Friday was very pleasant during the day and most of the night. Reason for mark down is due to the trains that came through in the night and it must’ve been trash day in Harmony as we heard dumpster being banged around in the early hours of the morning. No problem parking all 45’ of or rig and trailer. Easy access to town and Pittsburgh. No WiFi and you have to call to book.

Jamestown Campground — Pymatuning State Park

    Awesome place to camp

Pymatuning Lake Campground is a huge 700 site family oriented campground. Sites are large and clean and your not packed in. Bathrooms and showers are OK but they are clean. Best part of being here is the awesome fishing. Know for huge black crappie, walleye, and small and big mouth bass. This is the place to go fishing.

    Mosquito Lake State Park Campground

What a great place to camp!

First time here. They told me Ohio State Parks were voted #1 in the US. Well there is a reason for that. Beautiful, clean, great spots, not a bad site in the entire park. Wood is dry and cheap right outside the park entrance. Bass fishing is top notch on the lake. I would definitely come back here again and again.

    Streetsboro-Cleveland SE KOA

No EV Charging Allowed! Wet Sites

Site was pre-season opening (although no discount - almost $80/night), so there was construction during our stay.  Rains resulting in site flooding - the gravel pad was fine, but had to wade into the mud & water to get to utilities for the trailer.

Dumpsters were overflowing and campground sent email to inform campers they would have to haul out their own trash.

Biggest disappointment was lack of EV charging options at this site.  Didn't see the "No Charging" rule on their website when signing up, or we would have gone elsewhere.

    Won't return.

    Harts Content Campground

Nice Private Campground - EV Friendly

Spend one night here on our way to Ohio.  Owner was very friendly and allowed me to charge my Rivian onsite (I offered to pay for the extra power).

Pad was level and utilities were well located.

    Check-in & check-out were seamless.

The site amenities are dated, but it is a pretty cool campground!

We would definitely return for longer!

    Mosquito Lake State Park Campground

    Our "trial run" place

We live really close so we stay at mosquito for our first stay every year. This year we were disappointed. They had no staff there to check us in, the signs says closed Monday through Wednesday. Bathrooms were supposed to be open because we stayed April 16th, but only some of them were. (Even though online states April 1st they reopen). Some sites are more wet than others. We stayed at site 54 this time. The pad was very narrow and it was wet around it (it has been raining a lot). The person before us must have purchased a $12 bale of hay that they were selling up front because there was hay everywhere. Wish they would just put gravel down.

Otherwise, it's quiet. We love the nature play area for the kids. We love the playgrounds.

When they are open, the bathrooms are very clean. The shower house is dated but clean. Far walk from every site basically as they put it on the main road between both loops.

    Great camp site

Simple site, gravel park pad, fire pit with swinging arm grill. Plenty of free firewood. Great place would stay again

Guide to Poland

Camping options near Poland, Ohio range from rustic tent sites to established campgrounds with full amenities. Most camping areas sit at elevations between 900-1,200 feet above sea level, creating moderate temperature variations between day and night. Late spring through early fall brings the most reliable camping conditions, with July and August temperatures averaging 70-85°F during daytime hours.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: At West Branch State Park Campground, visitors can explore multiple inlets for fishing. "Great site! Shades lots of space semi private area. Right off the water with area to tie boat for easy water access," notes Katelyn P. The park includes numerous fishing spots along Kirwan Reservoir.

Water recreation: Many campsites at Mill Creek Camping offer lake access for swimming and boating. "One of my favorite campgrounds! Nice boat dock! Love the lake front sites! And excellent price!" shares Sami Jo L. The Berlin Lake Wildlife Area provides multiple launch points and designated swimming areas.

Hiking trails: Beaver Creek State Park connects directly to the North Country National Scenic Trail system. "There are many scenic hiking trails at West Branch. Bridal trails are located on Esworthy Rd," explains Alisa G., highlighting the trail network that extends throughout the region.

What campers like

Spacious sites: Many campgrounds feature well-spaced sites, particularly in wooded areas. "We had site 50. It is an unbelievably spacious site under towering pine trees. The site sits back off the road and really makes you feel like you have the place to yourself," shares Matt H. about Beaver Creek State Park Campground.

Bathroom facilities: Several campers specifically mention the clean facilities. "Best bathrooms around! Showers great. Bathrooms great. Lots of 'lakefront' spots. Dog park is pretty great, too!" reports Kim B. about West Branch. Bathroom maintenance appears consistent across multiple camping areas.

Family activities: KOA Lake Milton Berlin Lake provides numerous amenities for children. "We had a great time. The campground was clean, the bathrooms were updated and also extremely clean. The campground had so many amenities its hard to name them all! My 2 boys had so much fun at the lake and the playground and the bounce pad ect ect!" Casey L. reports.

What you should know

Site leveling challenges: Several campgrounds have uneven terrain. "We were only off 2 inches side to side but front to back we had to lower the front 15 inches. The jack was down as low as it would go and we were still off by 1.5 inches," notes Andrea F. about West Branch State Park, emphasizing the importance of bringing leveling equipment.

Water accessibility: Shenango Campground offers waterfront sites but with varying access. "It was a steep slope down so we couldn't access the water from our site. A few sites you can," explains B.M., indicating the need to research specific sites when water access matters.

Early maintenance noise: At multiple campgrounds, early morning maintenance affects light sleepers. "But get through that the first night and wake up to the cleaning crew lead blowing the sidewalk around the restroom at 7:00 a.m.," warns Zach P. about Shenango Campground, suggesting sites further from facilities for those wanting to sleep in.

Tips for camping with families

Water recreation options: Look for campgrounds with kid-friendly water features. "Even the rumbling of the nearby trains was on the quiet side! Nice playground with toy stocked sandpit, volleyball net, cheap laundry, dishwashing sinks, showers, and clean bathrooms," mentions Lee D. about West Branch State Park Campground.

Activity scheduling: Many campgrounds run weekend programs. "An ice cream social is held on Saturday evenings that my children always love to attend," states Alisa G., pointing to organized activities that help keep children entertained.

Playground amenities: Salem-Lisbon Ohio KOA provides multiple play areas. "The campground has beautiful scenic open spaces, a large play ground, and super friendly host," says Jaron P., highlighting facilities designed specifically for younger campers.

Tips from RVers

Utility access: Check hookup availability before arriving. "There are no FHU sites (camp host sites have electric & water). Electric sites are centrally grouped within the loops and spaced closer together than most COEs," notes MickandKarla W. about Shenango Campground.

Site selection: Research specific site layouts before booking. "We're at site 160. No electricity, no hook ups, but a HUGE lakefront site. We're in a self contained RV so it's not a problem for us," reports Rino S. about West Branch State Park, emphasizing the trade-off between hookups and premium locations.

Seasonal considerations: Chestnut Ridge Park and Campground adjusts for seasonal conditions. "They keep up on the gravel and leveling which is always appreciated," notes Clean Slate D., mentioning the importance of proper site maintenance during wet seasons.
