The full hookups were nice since the temps were in the upper 90s. The price was good and there were spots available fairly last minute. Close to Theodore Roosevelt NP. There are no showers, bathrooms, or office, so you should be self-contained. Figuring out where to situate your rig is tricky due…
This campground is small, beautiful, well-maintained, and convenient to TRNP. We are tent campers. There are two small loops. There are two shower rooms in the Mandan loop (appears to be the RV loop) - one requires quarters and one does not and they are side-by-side). Water is hot. Flush toilets…

Good location, pretty. Sites are small, tight and un-level. Close to Theodore Roosevelt NP. Good cell reception. Good for stop over only. Site 2 gives you room to park and put chairs out, some of the others are so close you can almost touch your neighbor standing in your door!
It is quiet, shady, the restrooms are clean. Bison and wild horses roam through the park.
I was confused on where this was because the GPS coordinates were wrong on another app. These are the coordinates for an amazing tent spot: (46.9411728, -103.5856874) Do not go past the second cattle guards! If you have, you’ve gone to far!
Also, just enough people here to make me comfortable,…
We stayed at Cottonwood for two nights and loved it. We were ultimately headed to MT, so two nights here tent camping for us was perfect. Overall, the grounds are pretty quiet and very clean with plenty of water and flush toilets. There are no showers here which didn’t bother us one bit. Campfires…
Campground was nice for a “rustic” tent site. They had flush toilets that were well maintained. We got to the park around 2pm on a Thursday in July and there were at least 20 FCFS sites left! We had a great view of the River and beautiful sunsets!
If you are attending the Medora Musical, this is perfect! It is not far off the highway, so it is quick to get set up and then get going for your next day. When I got here around noon, it was just me. Two other people set up through the day. There was plenty of room and it was still very peaceful.…
The campground was very nice, tent and rv sites available. The campground host, Bill, was very nice and informative. The bathrooms had clean toilets, and drinking water was also available.
Just did an overnight here while going to TRNP. Site is clean and free HOT showers.
Sites clean, camp host was great.
I was able to see the northern lights here once! Good trail access
Pulled in and took the last available site. Past trips it was FCFS, but apparently it's a reservation now. Decent site though. Restrooms clean.
Easy access off Hwy 2. We were there in first week of June & had place to ourselves, but there are MANY sites, most on the reservoir. Not a walking or swimming beach, but lots of birds & waterfowl, and gophers! Grass sites & trees, pit toilets & that’s it.
I was so disappointed with our site. We came to kayak and camp because the reviews were so high and we are going to be exploring the national park and town of Medora. We had to pay an addition 21$ upon arrival for a vehicle fee. That, combined with our 56$ space fee equaled about 25$ a night for 3…
Was a little surprised that when we pulled in the sign said RV campground and mobile home park, but the two are in separate parts so it wasn't weird.
Very friendly front office. The host saw us pull after hours and came and met us to help out.
Perfect overnight stop for a quick on and…
