We stated at Graham’s Island the first part of October. No crowds to speak of. Nice trails friendly staff. Would like to return with the paddle boards when the weather is nicer.
This is a remote site along the North Country Trail. It's well maintained, has personalized benches around a custom fire pit. There's a pit toilet hiding in the woods next to it.
This campground is not far from I-94. The campground is clean, quiet, and beautiful. We enjoyed the views of the lake and the rolling hill, the immaculate star gazing, and peacefulness of this camp ground.
There is a resort nearby with ice cream, firewood, and souvenirs.
Coming from the East, we made the mistake of taking highway 17, which happens to be a dirt road. If you take highway 19 it’s completely paved.
Well kept park. We stayed in the Ziebach campground. It has trees, water and electricity. There is another campground with full h/u but no shade and costs more. There is also fully shaded primitive tent camping on the water. There is a sanitary dump and small store. Great shower house. Very clean and quiet. Many boaters there is a ramp there.
Great spot!! Stopped here on our family vacation. Nice campsites (loop), very clean! Friendly hosts - gave the kids tattoos & stickers. Swim beach was great. Lots of great skipping rocks! Playgrounds were nice & not busy. Nice trails.
Great campground and super clean, swimming beach, playground, dog park, fish cleaning station, and shower houses.
Well maintained COE campground with a great little swimming beach for kids and a modern playground. Easy access, clean bathrooms, men’s and woman’s have 2 showers each and a family bathroom with one shower. The sites are pretty level clean somewhat close to one another but with the underbrush and trees you are very secluded. Situated on lake Ashtabula about 12 miles north of Valley City. We would definitely stay again for a lone weekend or 4 days just to relax.
Eggerts, sometimes called Bayshore, is my favorite place to camp on Lake Ashtabula! The campground is fairly secluded, several campsites with trees blocking the view of neighbors, and lots of shade. The swimming area is great for young kids as the water is quite shallow, excellent park too! Stop by Bayshore Resort on the otherside of the bay for breakfast!
I grew up camping along Lake Ashtabula. This is a great campground for the family; nice park, friendly campers, nice swimming area and an excellent place to watch fireworks on the 4th of July.
If you enjoy fishing, this is the place for you. The park is located on Devil’s Lake which is a fisherman’s paradise regardless of time of year. The park office resembles more of a fishing store than it does a park office, and the fish cleaning area was always full with people and their catch from that day. We stayed in a very private site (primitive site 64) right next to the lake. There were plenty of trees for shade and we felt secluded even though the campground was full. There are more open areas which seemed popular with the RV crowd- 3 separate campgrounds full. There is a boat launch as well. The walk to the bathroom was a little far from our site, but the larger bathrooms near the more popular RV areas were clean and had showers.
