Nice campground

Nice campground. Bathhouse was nice and updated and clean. Site was mostly level. Near by restaurants ( not in close walking distance but on the same main road that the campground is on.

Convenient for Exploring Bismarck

This affordable park was just south of Bismarck, had good cell service, and was also a short walk to the Missouri River.

There was a playground, disc golf course, boat launch, and other amenities in the park.

Open tent area only had four other campers there during my stay!

Great Out of the Way Spot on Lake Oahe

This campground was practically empty on the last day of August in 2021.

There were only 3 other campers and they were all next to one another.

I went to the other side of the area and enjoyed a quiet evening.

Great sunset and sunrise the next morning!

Great spot !

This is a great spot! They always have tent sites available (no electric) for $12. This was our last night of a very long trip, and were very pleased to find a spot on Labor Day weekend. Clean showers and bathrooms also!

Great small quiet campground

Sites are level, all with water and 30/50amp power. No dump station and not bathrooms. Grounds are maintained and very nice. Playground on site and grocery nearby

Lots of space

We were last minute and got the last spot for the weekend in the South Loop. Looks like the North Loop may be more popular because it has views of the river.

Our site was a double pull through and because of the way it is set up our fire ring and table were opposite of our front door! The other…

Great staff and very clean

Great staff! Office is open late (they were there at 8:45 pm). Clean park. Quiet and off the highway. Clean water and power. T-mobile has good signal.

What a gem!!

Happened upon this spot. What a beautiful spot. Multiple Boondocking areas along the lake. Only see 2 other campers and they aren’t even in view of where we are. Best part…..it’s FREE!!

Outstanding and amazing

This place has it all! Beautiful, well-groomed, shaded hiking paths everywhere. Playgrounds. Big fields. Clean water access to the river for swimming, dogs, fishing. Good sized sights, well sheltered by trees. Outhouses near all sights. Well kept showers. Helpful park services. Our fave place so…

Oddly nice for a free site

This is literally our first night in a rented camper-van. You can see/hear the highway, but we kinda like that. Lake is full of birds. We haven’t seen another human. The spots are really nice.

Beautiful scenery

We stayed here for 2 weeks in August 2021. We were in site 10. We had scenic view of the Missouri River. During the week we had the campground to ourselves.

Relaxing stay

Friendly host takes you right to your spot and assist in getting in. Nice laundry facilities, pool area looks good. We are here for just overnight stay but would like to stay longer. Overall a good park and would recommend.

Relaxing and beautiful!

We are a family of 4, 2 kids ages 11 and 13. We had a blast! We rented a canoe and 2 kayaks and were transported to Washburn and floated/paddled our way to Sanger boat launch. (Approx 9 miles) It took us about 3 hours and it was so beautiful! The park ranger picked us up at Sanger boat launch and…

Has all the things, but not a destiantion

All the standard KOA amenities, but next to the highway. It’s like a trick stop with a pool. Locking bathrooms at a paid campground was a big turnoff. Decent pool and dog park tho.
