Best RV Parks & Resorts near North Rose, NY

North Rose RV parks feature several well-developed options with varied amenities. Port Bay Camping and RV Park offers 40 sites with electric, water, and sewer connections from April 15 to October 15, accommodating both short and long-term stays. Holiday Harbor Resort in nearby Red Creek maintains 10 RV sites with full hookups, including 30/50 amp service and dump station access. Lake Bluff RV Park provides multiple site types with electric, water and sewer connections through the April to October season, particularly in their Drumlin loop. Shady Shores Campground operates 90 sites with electric, water and sewer hookups for motorhomes and travel trailers. "Our site was 5 inches off over 8 feet side to side, to find a spot I could level I had to park center of site, leaving an 8-foot space on the hookup side."

Many RV parks in the North Rose area require advance reservations during summer months and fall foliage season. South Shore RV Park remains open year-round with full hookup sites, though winter access may be limited during heavy snow events. Several parks including Lake Bluff and Brennan Beach offer amenities like swimming pools, camp stores, and recreational facilities alongside standard RV hookups. Cell service varies throughout the region, with stronger coverage near towns and potentially weaker signals in more remote locations. Propane service is limited at most facilities, so travelers should plan ahead. Pet policies differ between campgrounds - most allow pets with standard leash requirements, but designated pet areas and restrictions may apply. The region experiences typical northeastern seasonal weather patterns with occasional high winds near Lake Ontario, potentially affecting awnings and outdoor setups.

    Canandaigua-Rochester KOA

    Camping near Canandaigua, New York

Campers exploring the Canandaigua area discover a delightful mix of lakeside retreats, wooded state parks, and family-friendly RV resorts. Just minutes from downtown, Canandaigua City Park Campground offers easy access to local shops and the lakefront beach, making it a convenient base for those who want town amenities within walking distance. A short drive farther out leads to Keuka Lake State Park Campground and the privately owned Canandaigua-Rochester KOA, both of which feature spacious sites, clean facilities, and excellent opportunities for swimming, kayaking, and fishing on the Finger Lakes. For those seeking a quieter experience, numerous backcountry and dispersed sites are tucked into the surrounding National Forest, where campers can truly unplug—though it’s essential to bring all necessary supplies and practice Leave No Trace principles. Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill and the Stay Bristol Woodlands campground blend rustic charm with modern comforts: well-maintained restrooms, picnic shelters, and on-site hiking trails that wind through hardwood forests and offer scenic overlooks, especially stunning during fall foliage season. Travel logistics are a breeze when visitors prearrange an airport shuttle from Rochester or Syracuse airports, ensuring a smooth transition from plane to campsite. And for adventurers mapping out multiple stops across the Finger Lakes or beyond, reliable multi-city transfers provide comfortable, door-to-door rides—no rental car necessary. With its blend of waterfront sites, wooded hideaways, and nearby attractions—wineries, waterfalls, and historic villages—the Canandaigua region truly has something for every type of camper. Whether pitching a tent under the stars or rolling in with an RV, visitors will find endless opportunities for adventure and relaxation.

    Finger Lakes RV Resort

Beautiful new spacious RV resort in excellent location.

We arrived on Saturday, 10.8.22 and are staying for a week. This is a delightful location. Rachel and Doug are cheerful, attentive, and very personable owners who are on-site at almost all times. This park just opened this year, so we checked in at an entrance building that they're using until their primary building is complete. We were greeted with delicious cookies, our site(#9) backs up to a wooded area(with a hiking path buried in there) with a lot of space. We booked early, which was a good thing because they were 100% full for Indigenous People's Day. We chose this site because there was a lot of room around it and we're used to really tightly packed RV parks. But what we found is that all of the sites are very nicely spread out with generous spacing, so that's not an issue. It's still nice to be on the outskirts. We also chose this section per a review we read to be away from the main road noise, but there really isn't much road noise to worry about, anyway. The WiFi is strong and consistent. We're using 30amps, but they also have 20 and 50amp service to each site. The water pressure is great. The bath house is new and very comfortable. Each site has a picnic table, a fire ring and lots of room for big rigs. We watched Doug neaten up sites after other RV's vacated, which shows an attention to detail we don't often find. They also drive by each site every morning to collect trash and recycling. The sunsets are spectacular over the lake(we can't see the lake from here, but it's close). There are numerous award-winning wineries surrounding us and up and down the lake. We're headed out for tastings today. We've been hiking the last few days- Watkins Glen State Park- Gorge Trail(go early or it gets REALLY crowded), Taughannock State Park- Gorge& North Ridge Trail over on Cayuga Lake, and a concert(Rufus Wainwright) at Point of the Bluff Winery over on Keuka Lake. We stopped afterward for dinner in Hammondsport at Timber Stone Grill which was truly wonderful. That's about 35- 45 minutes away. Lots more hiking trails to do in the National Forest and surrounding areas. And there's Watkins Glen, a charming town just minutes away. We highly recommend Finger Lakes RV Resort and we'll be back!

    Webster Park

    Close Family Camping

We go to webster park family campground several times a year for the past few years. Usually sometime in early May and in late October with an occasional day or two mid summer. It is a smaller single loop campground with sites for tents/small trailers, larger trailers, and motor homes. He difference is 30a power and no water or sewer, 50a power and water, and 50a power and water/sewer. There is a dump station. The motor home sites are all along the entrance road. The small and large trailer sites are distributed around the loop. Nice central playground and bathroom/shower house. There is hiking in the park, lots of nice woods, big field for playing games/sports. It’s close to town and home for us. We stay close to the playground these days in our pop up usually at site 5 so our 5 and 9 year old can walk or ride to campground. We like site 1 as well. We stay on the outer ring on that side of loop as it gives access to the woods and trails behind the sites. The campground is very quiet and very kid friendly to allow them to walk around and ride or scooter the loop alone.

They allow reservations online on the monroe county parks website, and are open May 1st to October 31st.

Blueberry Patch Campground — Green Mountain & Finger Lakes National Forests

    Simple

The only Finger Lakes National Forest designated campground, Blueberry Patch offers a secluded experience in the heart of this sometimes overlooked beautiful geographic region in the State of New York. This campground offers a simple experience, with fire rings and picnic tables at each site and seems to accommodate just tent and small campers. Vault toilets available. On a week day in early summer, 3 of the 9 campsites we’re occupied. Can see it filling up on weekends. Enjoy!

    Keuka Lake State Park Campground

    Wonderful Finger Lakes Camping

Large grassy sites with privacy between the sites. Most sites have a good level gravel pad to park on.

We stayed in the non-electric loop with a small travel trailer, but there are electric sites available. Spigots for water are spaced well enough that with a few lengths you can fill up.

The hike to the beach wasn't too bad through the woods, with ones being a grassy walking path and the other being a dirt trail through the woods. The beach is typically crowded.

This is a place I would always recommend.

Blueberry Patch Campground — Green Mountain & Finger Lakes National Forests

    Quietest Place on Earth

Small and quiet national forest campground, just about 20 minutes from the hustle and bustle of both Ithaca and Watkins Glen. We woke up to thrushes singing and fell asleep to nightingales and owls calling!  Sites are basic with a picnic table and fire ring. Two pit toilets and trash/recycling are available, but no drinking water (also no streams for filtering water…so come prepared). Some sites can accommodate longer RV’s and some are perfect for tents.  All sites have quite a bit of shade and privacy as they are lined with trees and shrubs.

The best part about this campground is you are perfectly situated in the heart of the NY wine country!  Seneca Lake is just a couple miles west and has more wineries than you can possibly visit. Our favorite was Catharine Valley Winery…great wine, fun atmosphere, and gorgeous view of the vineyards and lake.

Also, with the help of a local, we found Smith Memorial Park – a great place to launch our kayaks and make some dinner at the beach. Their campground is currently closed for renovations, but there is a boat launch/docks, picnic pavilion, and a lovely view of the sunset.

    No reservations, first-come first served.

Guide to North Rose

North Rose camping areas sit near Lake Ontario's southern shore in Wayne County, New York, creating a distinct microclimate with lake-effect weather patterns. Winter camping options are limited due to annual snowfall averaging 175 inches, though a few facilities remain open year-round. Campgrounds cluster around Port Bay and Sodus Bay where sandy shores and bluff formations create unique waterfront camping environments.

What to do

Kayak launch access: Lake Bluff RV Park has direct water access with recreational opportunities beyond standard camping. "We had a large, private plot in drumlin loop. Close to the beach which was very pretty and clean. Hiking trails, kayaking, and lots of other fun activities," notes Jay P.

Wine tasting trails: Finger Lakes RV Resort offers walking paths directly to nearby wineries from the campground itself. "Walking paths from the campground to two different wineries. Really nice pavilion for group gatherings and watching the sunset," states Matt S., highlighting convenient access to regional wine tourism.

Fishing excursions: Woonton Family Farms provides more secluded outdoor experiences with water access. "We had an excellent stay at the farm of the Woonton Family Farms with our RV, it was a cozy and beautiful campsite with personal attention of the owner. We had a great campfire, fresh blackberries and the option of canoeing," reports Willemien V.

What campers like

Family-friendly activities: Lake Bluff RV Park maintains weekend programming for children even during pandemic restrictions. "Have been to lake buff twice this year and will definitely be back next year! The owners are so personable, accommodating and kind! Kids activities are great. Even with COVID they have stuff to keep them busy," Victoria reports.

Evening entertainment: Red's Twilight on the Erie RV Resort provides regular weekend entertainment for guests. "Live music on Friday Night (weather permitting) and plenty of activities for the family on the weekends," notes Rachel T., highlighting the entertainment value beyond basic camping amenities.

Clean facilities: North Rose area rv campgrounds maintain above-average bathroom facilities compared to typical campgrounds. "The bath house is immaculate and rivals those at Fort Wilderness Resort," shares Craig F. about Finger Lakes RV Resort, while Jeff F. notes that South Shore RV Park has a "clean bathhouse" that contributes to the overall experience.

What you should know

Site leveling challenges: Many North Rose area RV parks have uneven sites requiring preparation. "Almost all of the sites are not even close to level. Not a big issue with a fifth wheel but a real hassle with a motorcoach," Donna C. reports about Red's Twilight on the Erie RV Resort.

Local vs. visitor dynamics: Brennan Beach Campground has a distinct local seasonal population. "A lot of locals camp here seasonally, and if you're not from around there, you'll stick out. We had a few awkward interactions but nothing serious. Mostly just funny," explains Kristen L.

Pricing considerations: Costs vary significantly between tent and RV accommodations, with tent sites sometimes overpriced. Thomas R. shares about Brennan Beach: "They gave me a tent spot for $70... About 10 yards to the next campsite in either direction, zero privacy."

Tips for camping with families

Speed restrictions: Hejamada Camping Resort has large circular sites that create play areas for children. "Our site was on the circle near the pub so it was loud after dark and there was no shade however the large circle offered a lot of space for kids & dogs to play," notes Amy T.

Safety-focused design: Red's Twilight on the Erie enforces strict speed limits for child safety. "The speed limit is 5 MPH and they mean it.... Kids on bikes and having a good time in the enormous play area and the pool far enough from the campsites but close to the store and watchful eye of the staff," explains Rachel T.

Game room access: Lake Bluff RV Park maintains indoor recreation options for rainy days. "Near the play ground they have a nice game room pool, air hockey, video games. There is a change machine too," shares Sara H., highlighting entertainment options beyond outdoor activities.

Tips from RVers

Off-season considerations: Many North Rose RV campgrounds have reduced amenities outside peak season. "Very nice thousand trail campgrounds. Very large I believe it's 1300+ sites. We went late summer show it was becoming offseason. Most amenities close down. Pool, swimming at Lake Ontario beach, etc.," explains Robert M. about Brennan Beach.

Wi-Fi reliability: Finger Lakes RV Resort offers unusually strong internet service for remote workers. "Wifi was strong enough to do work calls," reports Laura W., while another camper notes the "excellent Wi-Fi" as a standout feature for digital connectivity.

Site spacing variations: North Rose area RV parks vary dramatically in site spacing. "This park just opened this year... We're used to really tightly packed RV parks. But what we found is that all of the sites are very nicely spread out with generous spacing," explains Steve A. about Finger Lakes RV Resort.
