Best RV Parks & Resorts near Lancaster, NY

Lancaster area RV parks provide multiple options for motorhome travelers seeking full hookup sites. Southwoods RV Resort in Byron operates from May through October with 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections on gravel pads. DINO RV Campground in Cheektowaga offers three RV-only sites with electric, water, and sewer hookups. Skyline RV Resort in Darien Center features big-rig friendly sites with 30/50-amp service, operating seasonally from early May to mid-October. Niagara Hartland RV Resort in Gasport accommodates both large and standard-sized motorhomes with full hookup capabilities. "The sites were level and had both 30A and 50A power, was pretty level left/right but about 6 inches high in front before we leveled our 34-foot fifth wheel."

Most RV parks near Lancaster require advance reservations, particularly during summer months and fall foliage season. Several campgrounds close entirely between November and April, with limited year-round options available. Pull-through sites tend to fill quickly at popular destinations like Southwoods RV Resort, where reviews note the campground is "quite large and has separate sections for seasonal and transient campers." Cell service varies significantly between locations, with Verizon typically providing better coverage than AT&T in rural areas. Pet-friendly policies are common but may include breed restrictions or require proof of rabies vaccination. Dump stations are available at all full-service RV parks, though some state parks offer only electric hookups with centralized dumping facilities.

    Evangola State Park Campground

Some Sites Have a View of Lake Erie

    Unfortunately, my site did not.

However, my site wasn't crowded and the electricity was reliable. This campground has three loops. One has 30 amp power, one has 50 amp power (with a 30 amp outlet on the same pedestal) and the third loop is for tent camping. There are several places to get water in the camp, so be sure to fill up your tanks before you park. There is a dump station. None of the sites are full hook up.

Each site has a picnic table and a grill.

There are two bath houses. The newer one - between loops one and three - also has laundry facilities.

Your payment for your campsite entitles you to admission to the beach, which is a hike or a drive away.

Four Mile Creek State Park Campground

    Simple campground on Lake Ontario

We stayed here because it was near Niagara Falls and had site availability. We stayed at a non-electric campsite (mid-June). There were 4 other campsites occupied in our area. We have a camper van with solar power and fresh water. There is a shower in the non-electric section but it's not heated water. Since it's June, the temperature was only mildly shocking to my senses. However, the rest of the showers in the campground are heated (we checked). There are at least two laundry facilities. I actually exchanged cash for quarters at the front office. The grounds are well maintained. Beware of the resident skunk that walks around. I didn't test the cell signal here but I was able to work remotely and video chat.

    Cinderella Motel & Campsite

Basic, Convenient, VFM (value for money)

This campground is very basic with very close campsites.  The bathhouse and laundry are old but clean.  The staff were very friendly and helpful.  It is very close to Niagara falls and for the money it is the best campground here.  KOA and Branches CGs are nicer but they are also triple the price which for us did not seem worth it.  We were in a back in gravel site that backed up to the motel which may not seem that nice but the electric, water and sewer worked perfectly.  Our 40 foot MH and Toad fit with room to spare.  There were sites that were on the outskirts of the property that backed to the woods which some people may prefer.  Those sites were just as close although there were several that would take big rigs bit don't expect to open your awnings in most sites.   There is a nice grassy area in the center with a small covered pavilion.   There are a few sites on the side/front of Motel.  We were here to visit Niagara Falls so location and a basic campground with full hookups was all we were looking for and this campground fit our needs perfectly.  We would stay here again.

    Niagaras Lazy Lakes Camping Resort

    Clean & Friendly

We have camped here several times. Bathrooms are very clean along with the showers. They are cleaned on a daily basis. Store on site has just the bare amenities. Big clubhouse, 2 heated pools and a pond to fish (catch & release). Sites are big. Pet friendly. Staff are very friendly. 10-15 minutes from Niagara Falls and close to stores. It does have 2 on site laundry facilities but the dryers take a while. Enjoy going there.

    Darien Lakes State Park Campground

    Clean/Quiet Campground

9/25-9/29/22- The park was nearly empty, perhaps 6 or 8 other campers widely spread out. It was immaculate and the sites well spaced apart. All site have a picnic table and fire pit. Ours had both 30A and 50A power, was pretty level left/right but about 6” high in front before we leveled our 34’ fifth wheel. The park has drinking water faucets at a variety of places throughout, but site#15 has a faucet directly next to it, so we had water available too. Both AT&T 4G and Verizon 5G had 3 bars reception. The dump station was clean and convenient. It looked like a great place for kids that included at least one (probably more) playground.

    AA Royal Motel & Campground

An old campsite that fits our needs

This is not a resort campground nor is it a campground built for escapism. It’s very close to Niagara Falls, the Rainbow Bridge (for driving into Canada), and Buffalo, NY.

Mike is very friendly; check in was easy. The sites are full hook up or w/e only. There are pull throughs and back-ins, 30amp and 50amp sites. Your site is assigned once you arrive. You pay a deposit when you book and pay the rest when you arrive.

They have Good Sam and weekly discounts and I was also given a cash/check discount. So our total was $51 a night for a week’s stay.

The sites toward the front are definitely more level and have better cell service, but the sites toward the back are better shaded. Cell service and wifi was enough for me to work during the week and stream at night.

The facilities could use some work. They are very old, and it’s hard to tell if they are clean or just old. Laundry is available - $2.50 a wash/$1.75 a dry.

Basically, don’t expect a beautiful vacation campground. I work full time remotely from the camper. I was able to work during the days and get to Niagara Falls, CAN, and Buffalo quickly after work. Even with the discount, which I’m thankful for, it is overpriced for what it is. But it served my needs, I felt safe, and the owner was friendly so 3 stars. With some TLC to the sites and the facilities, I’d give it 4.

    AA Royal Motel & Campground

    Good location

This campground is open year around which is really hard to find in this area. We needed to come here for personal reasons before any other campground was opened. So far this isn’t bad could be better/ cleaner.

It is 50 amp full hook up with free Wi-Fi that doesn’t suck.

The site are paved level back ins and pull throughs

The staff was nice enough. Haven’t had much interaction with him.

There is a great Italian store right across the street and Niagara Falls down the road. I would stay here in a pinch again

    Niagara County Camping Resort

    Niagra County Camping Resort

Arrived late at night to this established site. This is a mixed accommodation campground with established long term residents & short term sites.

Some sites include a table, power access and tire rim for fire-ring. Showers & flushing toilets are near RV sites in back area. Small camp store, swimming pond & fishing pond. Manager, Christine very nice & helpful.

Campground is relatively close to scenic drives along Lake Ontario & Niagra State Park, Niagra Falls.

Guide to Lancaster

Lancaster area RV camping options extend beyond full hookup sites to include family activities and seasonal entertainment. The region sits at approximately 700 feet elevation with a four-season climate featuring warm summers, colorful autumns, and snowy winters. Camping options near Lancaster range from resort-style facilities with recreational amenities to smaller, private campgrounds with varying levels of service and seasonal availability.

What to do

Amusement park access: Six Flags Darien Lake Campground combines camping with theme park entertainment, located about 25 minutes from Lancaster. "This is a large campground. Walking distance to the theme park. Campground fees include admission to the theme park. The sites are very nice and well maintained," notes Mary H. in her review of Six Flags Darien Lake Campground.

Swimming pools: Several campgrounds offer swimming as a main attraction during summer months. Southwoods RV Resort provides "2 well kept pools, playgrounds, laundry facilities, mini golf, soccer, basketball. The employees are so helpful and nice!" according to Hope C.

Local exploration: The area serves as a good base for visiting nearby attractions. "We stayed at Southwoods while visiting the Rochester, NY area and exploring attractions in the area. The campground is about 20-25 miles from downtown Rochester and located in a quiet rural setting surrounded by farmland," explains one camper about their stay at Southwoods RV Resort.

What campers like

Family-friendly atmosphere: Many campgrounds cater specifically to families with children. "Family friendly park, lots of activities, park hosts/owners are hands on and awesome," writes Cheryl M. about her experience at Southwoods RV Resort.

Clean facilities: Campground cleanliness ranks highly in visitor satisfaction. "Bathrooms were very clean. Quiet campground. Lots of plays areas for kids," reports Sydney W. from her stay at Niagara Falls Campground & Lodging.

Concert access: Some campgrounds serve concertgoers who need accommodation. "I haven't been here in a while but people mostly stay here for one of two reason. Because they don't want to drive home drunk from a concert, or they have 14 loud kids that want to be at the amusement park," observes Laura Nicole A. about Six Flags Darien Lake Campground.

What you should know

Seasonal operations: Most campgrounds near Lancaster operate on limited schedules. Skyline RV Resort runs from "May 2 - Oct 13" while Red Rock Ponds RV Resort operates from "May 1 - Oct 18," making advance planning essential for shoulder season visits.

Site variations: Campground layouts and amenities can vary widely within the same facility. "The campground is quite large and has separate sections for seasonal and transient campers and has a variety of different campsites from back-ins to pull-thrus, 50 to 30-amps, and full hook-up to water and electric only," reports Nancy W. about Red Rock Ponds RV Resort.

Noise factors: Several campgrounds experience noise from nearby transportation routes. "Basic, clean campground about 20 mins from the Falls. Very convenient with nice workers but likely wouldn't book again. The noises of the town made it very difficult to sleep in our tent. It's right off the main road and nearby trains blared their horns throughout the night," warns Shan Q. about Niagara Falls Campground.

Tips for camping with families

Activity planning: Choose campgrounds with multiple recreation options. "Southwoods is a beautiful campground and accommodates campers of all ages. 2 well kept pools, playgrounds, laundry facilities, mini golf, soccer, basketball," suggests Hope C. from Skyline RV Resort.

Campground layout: Consider site spacing when booking with children. "Weekend sites would be pretty tight together if they were fully booked," notes Sydney W. about Southwoods RV Resort.

Themed events: Many campgrounds host special activities throughout the summer. "They have a busy events calendar throughout the year with lots of get-togethers. During our stay they had a closing weekend pizza and wings party with live music for a small fee," shares Nancy W.

Tips from RVers

Service availability: Some campgrounds offer on-site mechanical support. "Every part of the camping experience is treated with attention to detail and great services. We needed help with our water heater in our own RV and the camp team sent over a mechanic to sort it out within minutes. Free of charge," shares lionel O. about DINO RV Campground.

Site configurations: RV site details matter for comfortable setups. "Great campground, a little tight if you like to spread out. The map was not correct and we did not have sewer hook up at the sight. The dumping station was free or included," advises Paul G. about his stay at Skyline RV Resort.

Price variations: Expect significant cost differences between weekday and weekend stays. "$76 per night, Friday and Saturdays. $69/night weekdays. Level gravel sites. Sites are close together, but not busy now, so not a problem," notes Dave D. about Niagara Falls Campground & Lodging.
