    Hacienda RV Resort

    Beautiful and relaxing

This is an RV resort, not to be confused either an RV park. Lots of large pull through sites, a few back in. Water, sewer, electric- 30/50 amp. WiFi, cable TV, patio with fireplace and hot tub. There used to be an exercise room, meeting rooms, copy & fax service, & laundry. The bathroom and showers are clean and nice. Plus, they have a dog wash area and one of the best dog run areas I’ve found at an RV park or resort! There is actually room for the dogs to run.

    Siesta RV Park

This is a small RV park just west of ElPaso. It’s older and could use some maintenance. Sites are level, but very close to. Lots of dust. (This is the desert , so maybe expected) 30/50 amp, water & sewer. Free WiFi and Cable TV No dog park. No pool There is a convenience store and grocery store.

    Percha Dam State Park Campground

    Peaceful and Quiet

Tucked in next to the Rio Grande, Perch Dam Campground is quiet, clean, and enjoyable. The bathrooms were spotless and well maintained, as were the pit toilets in the dispersed area.  Most sites easily can fit a 35 - 40 foot rig.  There is water and electric (15, 30, 50 amp) at all reserved sites.  The only drawback, no RV dump station on site; you'll need to go to Caballo SP to dump.  Had great Verizon cell service while there.  We will return!

    Rockhound State Park Campground

    Nice Place

Another really nice place in New Mexico. Near enough to the freeway, but far enough to not notice it. Near enough to town for a quick bite out or supplies, but far enough to not be bothered by it. Quiet and peaceful with good trails for walking the dogs.

Facilities: Hot water, free showers, flush toilets, soap, dump station, not much more you need

Cell Service: Good enough Verizon and T-mobile to work remotely

Starlink: While we didn't need to use it, all sites are open to the sky if you needed to

Solar: All sites are open to the sky for good solar

    Hacienda RV Resort

    Hacienda RV Resort, NM

Located in Las Cruces New Mexico, Hacienda RV resort is conveniently situated right off of interstate 10. Their main office is closed currently due to COVID precautions, but they are still very accommodating. The sites are small, but have everything you need with level concrete pads and full hook ups. They have a large laundry room. Make sure you use the ones closest to the door (on the right) because they are newer and don’t leave your clothes soaking wet. The dog park is large and has several entrances- it also provides waste bags and a garbage can, which is a plus. The bathrooms are private and include a toilet and shower- clean!!

    Rockhound State Park Campground

    Views and Rockhounding

Rockhound SP, NM: If you like to hunt for rocks, or just be away from everything, this is a good place. Mountains are unique. Can’t get tired of looking at them. Only one trail here. Some nearby. (Scale 1- bad, 5-Very good

(71 yr olds in 17’ trailer.)

Overall Rating: 4 for fine layout in non-electric area Price 2024: $ 10 for non electric site Security: No Usage during visit: Pretty full Site Privacy: Desert vegetation does not offer privacy Site Spacing: Great Pad surface: Gravel Reservations: Yes Campground Noise: Quiet Outside Road Noise: cg is at the end of the access road. No other road. Through Traffic in campground: None Electric Hookup: Available. We were in the non-electric loop . Sites in this loop are generally more private than the electric area Sewer Hookup: No Dump Station: Out of order. Posting says that a Valero nearby provides free dumping. Potable Water Available: Yes. Near the dump station. Generators: Yes Bathroom: Pit toilet in the day use area is the closest. Flush toilets also available.
Showers: Nice showers Pull Throughs: Available Cell Service (AT&T): 2 bars Setting: Nestled against a mountain ridge overlooking other mountains and the desert below. Recent Weather: 40s to 80s with high wind/fire warning pending. Solar: Great Insects: None Host: Yes. Rig Size: Large rigs Sites: All sites in non electric loop are nice and well spaced. 1 and 3 are the best. Large 5th wheel had trouble backing in to #3, having to back up cg road to do so. #2 looks down on#1. Our site here was # 2. #0 looks over the day use area in one direction. #5 is closest to entry road into the cg. However, not much traffic into cg during our short stay.
I would be pleased with any site in this loop.

Aguirre Spring Recreation Area and Campground

    Gorgeous 360 degree views

Beautiful spot. More amenities than I expected. Prettier than most national park campgrounds. The road in is fully paved but it is winding… a sign out front warns that trailers >23’ are not recommended. We had no trouble with our 19’ trailer. The site has fire ring, grill, trash can, covered picnic table, stone paving. Really nice. There are pull through and back in sites. We came mid August… there were only two other camping sites occupied. We enjoyed the sunset then rain set in for the entire night. It really is a gorgeous site. Way more amenities than you’d expect for boondocking.

    Love's RV Hookup-Santa Teresa NM 817

    perfect for my personal preferences

pulled into the loves parking lot that I had scoped out on Google maps. pulled directly into the first lane of pumps with the ass end blocking traffic. And from there, I could just pull forward and back into my spot full of fuel.

In the morning I made a reservation so I can stay here another night as well. I was just going to stay one night. But I can get Propane within walking distance of my truck and the subway shop isn't much farther. Maybe I'll check out the laundry facilities, too. I've already filled the freshwater tank and the water seems fine. Good thing I do not need to dump my black tank because even with the extension, I don't think my hoses would reach. The flaw in the design is that all the sites are back in and the pedestals and sewer ports are behind the RV when parked. Don't worry though because there is a dump station even closer than the propane refill. All six sites orient each camper pretty much due east west with the passenger side to the south. Actually, putting a sewer connection at each site is overkill when there is a nearby dump station, that you can use on your way in or your way out. For one night stops that's all you need. The street noise is tolerable. All the big trucks go to the opposite side of this complex. There were distant train noises and I could barely see the tops of a few cars over the western horizon. Getting the power turned on took a couple phone calls and unintelligible conversations over the intercom setup at the kiosk. I got $72 of propane and the attendant even carried a full 20 and 40 over to my site. While in the office paying for that I got them to turn the power back on, which was turned off at noon because yesterdays stay was over and todays had not started. This gas station and“travel stop” does not sell beer?!?!?!?!? Make sure to ask for your favorite adult beverage, maybe they will get some

What to do

Visit White Sands National Park: Many campers use Las Cruces as a base for day trips. "We took extra day to visit white sands and experience some New Mexico Mexican food at Andele Restaurant. Weather was perfect in October," shares a reviewer from Western Skys RV Park.

Local farmers markets: Within driving distance of most RV parks. A visitor at Las Cruces KOA recommends, "Took a short drive to La Mesilla and the farmers market in Las Cruces—definitely recommend both. White Sands is also not too far if you're up for a day trip."
