Best RV Parks & Resorts near Paradise, MT

Paradise, Montana has several RV parks offering diverse accommodation options. Nugget RV Resort provides full hookup sites with 50-amp service and can accommodate large motorhomes with pull-through spaces for easier access. The park features gravel pads with small grassy areas and picnic tables at most sites. "Great spot to find at the end of a long drive day. Just the kind of RV spot for Montana. Trees & stars in big sky country," noted one camper about Nugget RV Resort. Rimrock Lodge RV Park in nearby Thompson Falls offers electric, water and sewer hookups in a more basic setting. Trout Creek Motel & RV Park remains open year-round with full hookup sites that include 50-amp service, making it suitable for larger rigs requiring higher electrical capacity.

RV travelers should plan carefully when visiting during peak summer months as availability becomes limited. Many parks in the region accept reservations, which are strongly recommended between June and September. Driving conditions can present challenges on some routes, particularly for longer motorhomes. Some parks have restrictions on generator use, though most provide full hookups eliminating this concern. Dump stations are available at several facilities including Nugget RV Resort and Rollins RV Park. Cell service varies throughout the mountainous terrain, with stronger signals closer to larger towns. Most RV parks in the area welcome pets but may have specific rules regarding leash requirements and designated walking areas. Propane fill service is limited, so travelers should arrive with adequate supplies.

Informal Dispersed Campsite at Fish Creek Properties Montana State Park

Big Spot adjacent to the road, Good if in a pinch

Sign says camping permitted to 14 days in a 30 day period. Adjacent to dirt road with a few trees in between. Not the most private but a good option if you need a place for the night if the nearby campsite is full. No amenities. T-mobile cell service is good here.

River access just at the entry of the turn in. Could easily pull a big rig in but may have a hard time turning it around as there is not a pull through. There is a concrete slab that is level and about 12'x25' in size  which could be good for a trailer or van without having to do much for leveling. Many vehicles/tents could fit here in the dirt area but would likely be comfortable for a single group rather than multiple camp groups.

    50,000 Silver Dollar Campground

    A free spot

We stopped here on our way out of Montana (our home state). A winter storm rolled in and made the pass impassable. This is a FREE RV park with electric hookups…no water, cable, or dumping station, but again, FREE. The snow was hitting hard and having electricity was a lifesaver. There is a really good restaurant and bar here as well as a truck stop and gas station. We have a Class A and the spots were plenty big. Lots of dog walking areas too. Perfect in an emergency and great for a short stay. No long terms and is first come first serve.

    Polson Motorcoach and RV Resort

    The Nicest KOA We’ve seen

First, as we were driving up to the site, I saw these large Class A motorhomes with gazebos and lush green lawns and thought “I wish I knew about this RV park before booking,” only to find out it was the KOA! The sites are leveled, gravel pads on a hill, with a wooden deck, railings, 2 waste water hookups, and super clean facilities. The pool and hot tub were nice and clean. The staff, including the young man who escorted us to our site on check-in, were hospitable. Finally, there is a nice view of Flathead Lake. This is a destination KOA and only an hour from Glacier National Park.

    Granite Peak RV Resort

    Surrounded by mountains

If the smoke from summer wildfires were not so thick, you could see the beautiful long range, multi tiered mountains. The park is well maintained. I love the fact that they have a puttputt on the grounds. Very family friendly. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the sited are not level. All, but the premium sites (concrete pads) have a slope. Jack's were fully extended and some wheels off the ground. Pulling up on blocks was no problem. Not a ton of shade at sited. I had 5 bars of 5G AT&T. Wifi repeaters were throughout the park. Would definitely recommend.

    Lolo Hot Springs Campground

Lo Lo Hot Springs is Hot!

Very nice campground across Hwy. 12 in Montana. Campground is ill defined so it feels more like camping out in the woods. Fire pits with picnic tables. 30 amp electric with water. Dump station on site. $38.50 per night or $25.50 with senior discount. Cabins are available and there is numerous tent sites. Pretty nice campground. Across the highway is Lo Lo Hot Springs. Very rustic with a $8.00 entry fee. Inside group tub and outside pool. There is a lodge and bar also on site. We spent 5 days in our 5th wheel at LoLo.

    Granite Peak RV Resort

    Fine For a Stop-off Night

Definitely not a spot that caters to our normal priorities as it's more of a family hangout or long term place, as expected being an RV park. But it worked well as a stop-off spot for laundry, showers, electric recharge, and water fill before continuing on our way the next morning. We were worried it'd be loud being so close to the freeway, but surprisingly couldn't hear it at all.

Facilities: Laundry, showers that feel like home more than any other we've been to, mini-golf, playground, convenience store

Cell Service: As expected plenty of service being so close to Missoula

Starlink: All sites are open to the sky

Solar: All sites are open to the sky

    Nugget RV Resort

    We Gave Nugget a Try

We decided to stay here because we’ve seen this campground(CG) featured the last five year’s we’ve been on the road by CG review websites, travel forums, and big-name RV bloggers. So we thought we’d give Nugget a try. We followed our RV GPS to the CG that is near I-90, but far enough away that you don’t hear highway noise. There was another camper checking in when we arrived, but check-in was fairly quick and thorough. There was a sign about being a Good Sam Member and we had to ask to get the discount as that option was not available for the online reservation. We then had a very friendly escort to pull through site 63 with FHUs, which is supposedly a premium site. This gravel site has a little grass yard with a picnic table. The site is across from a community fire pit and couple of their little trail heads. When we were there in July, there was a fire ban so not having a site fire pit was no big deal. The utilities are nicely placed in the middle of the pad. Water pressure is good at about 50 psi. We got 2 to 3 bars on Verizon. As there are a lot of mature pine trees in this CG, satellite is iffy. Our campsite was at the north end of the CG facing the woods, so we used our Verizon MiFi versus Starlink. We probably could have gotten the Starlink to work if we put the antenna on our roof, but as we were only here for three nights, we didn’t try. There’s a nice trail system around the CG to walk with your kids and it is dog friendly. They offer a lot of amenities of which laundry was one that we did use. There’s a nice 9-hole golf course just down the road. They used to let veterans golf for free on Wednesdays, but now charges vets only$5. The CG also had a food truck one evening that was convenient. We wanted to see what all the hype was about and we got the chance. This CG has a lot to offer families or campers who desire a lot of comforts. Overall, its a nice and well run CG, but we are not compelled to repeat with all the other options in the area.

    Finley Flats

    Right on the river.

This Vista owned campground is first come first served. No amenities, no cell service. Pack in pack out. Camp host at the campground. Fishing, boating hiking. Beautiful area. There is a small store top of the hill. Nearest town is 10 miles away. Did I mention it is a free campground!. 14 day limit. Nearest dump station is in Trout Creek. Good gravel road can handle big rigs easily.

    Whitefish-Kalispell North KOA

    Family friendly, not really “camping”

If you’re looking for family friendly, this is your spot. Lots of kids activities. Free breakfast. Washrooms, showers and laundry facility available. Scenically, it’s not very pretty. Sites are very close together with little privacy. Our spot was so small we couldn’t fit our tent, picnic table and fire pit in it. We had to park somewhere else, and move the picnic table our. If you prefer exploring nature and quiet, this isn’t the park for you.

Hot springs access: For thermal bathing options near Paradise, Montana camping areas, Lolo Hot Springs offers mineral pools across from their RV park. What you should know

Train noise: Railroad tracks run through the valley and affect several campgrounds. A camper at Trout Creek Motel & RV Park mentions, "At first we were a little taken aback by all the train noises (the puppy wasn't too excited about it) but they didn't run too late into the night."

Site selection: Choose sites with shade and river access when possible. "Site seven also seemed really large compared to other as there was a large tree between the next site where we tied up a hammock," notes a camper who found this spot ideal for family comfort.

Tips from RVers

Site surfaces: Most RV sites near Paradise, Montana feature gravel pads. "Sites are gravel, mostly level and most sites have shade. The pull through sites on the outer edge do not but others inside do," explains a visitor to Jim & Mary's RV Park.

Hookup placement: Be prepared for variable utility locations. "Need about 20 foot of sewer hose to reach the sewer drain," advises one RVer about connection distances at some parks.

Big rig accessibility: Larger motorhomes should verify access before arrival. "When we arrived at 9 pm, the office area and road to get to rv park were way too tight for our 40 ft fifth wheel," cautions a traveler who encountered difficulties at one location.

Laundry facilities: Check availability and capacity before planning to do laundry. "1 of the 4 washers available was working and it was hard to find a time where it was available since the park hosts so many guests," shares an RVer who found better options in nearby towns.
