Best Cabin Camping near Paradise, MT

Cabins near Paradise, Montana range from rustic lookout towers to resort-style accommodations with varying amenities. The Thompson Peak Lookout Tower offers a secluded retreat with surprising conveniences including a working refrigerator with freezer, microwave, two-burner stove, heater, and cooking utensils. "This is better than a lot of Air BnBs I've stayed at. Working fridge with freezer, coffee maker, microwave, two-burner stove, heater, cooking utensils, pots/pans, working electricity," noted one visitor. Nugget RV Resort and The Sanctuary Campground provide cabin options with more standard layouts, while several KOA locations in the region feature cabin rentals with amenities like picnic tables, fire rings, and proximity to campground facilities.

Rustic and deluxe cabins are available throughout the region, with varying levels of comfort and privacy. The Sanctuary Campground offers both small and large cabin options suitable for groups. According to one camper, "We rented a big cabin for the 6 of us! They have restrooms with hot showers!" Most cabin locations require advance reservations, particularly during summer months when demand peaks. Pet policies vary by location—Thompson Peak Lookout Tower prohibits pets, while many other cabin rentals in the area allow them. KOA properties in Polson, Missoula, and Whitefish offer cabin accommodations with consistent amenities and family-friendly environments, though they tend to provide less privacy than more remote options.

Most cabin rentals include basic furnishings but require guests to bring their own linens, towels, and toiletries. Kitchen facilities vary significantly—some cabins feature only basic refrigeration and microwave access while others include stovetops and cooking utensils. Thompson Peak Lookout Tower offers kitchen amenities but has no running water, relying on a pit toilet instead. Visitors should verify which supplies are provided before arrival. On-site camp stores at locations like Nugget RV Resort and the KOA properties stock essential items, though selection is limited. Firewood is available for purchase at many locations including The Sanctuary Campground, which provides community fire areas as an alternative to individual fire pits.

Big Arm State Unit — Flathead Lake State Park

    Lakeside Camping on Flathead

The campground offers many lakeside campsites complete with picnic table and fire rings. There were 3 yurts for those interested. all vehicles, including camping vehicles, park alongside road; there are few, if any, pull-in sites. There is room for a tent or two in the sIte. Most of the lakeside sites also have a small amount of slope.

The camp hosts were absolutely fantastic! There is firewood and ice for sale at the park. Polson is about 20-30 mInutes away and has grocery stores, etc. If you go to Polson, check out The Cove Deli for some really great ice-cream.

The showers were really awkward, but did the job. They take $ coins (available from host if needed) and quarters.

If you aren’t bringing your own boat, Boat Rentals and Rides is only 2 miles down the road. We rented 2 glass bottom kayaks. Warning: lake conditions change suddenly and we saw the waves blow in 2 dIfferent directions durIng the 2 days we were there. There were no bear boxes at the sites, only one by the bathroom.

    Lolo Hot Springs Campground

Lo Lo Hot Springs is Hot!

Very nice campground across Hwy. 12 in Montana. Campground is ill defined so it feels more like camping out in the woods. Fire pits with picnic tables. 30 amp electric with water. Dump station on site. $38.50 per night or $25.50 with senior discount. Cabins are available and there is numerous tent sites. Pretty nice campground. Across the highway is Lo Lo Hot Springs. Very rustic with a $8.00 entry fee. Inside group tub and outside pool. There is a lodge and bar also on site. We spent 5 days in our 5th wheel at LoLo.

    Missoula KOA Holiday

    New Favorite . . .

This place is on my shortlist for favorites for my week long getaway with my daughter who is 5. To be honest I was a bit concerned after reading a couple reviews describing the place. But hey, we all have bad days, and if I can read 90% positive vibe from a review I will check it out. I will say This place is an oasis that is in a manufactured home area that is very nice. Once you are in, it is a pure KOA experience. So far no company consistently does better than OK always across the board.

Could not be happier with the customer service, and the staff that work here. Just simply top notch. They represent the true spirit of the KOA campgrounds. they lead you to your campsite, they will deliver wood for you, they monitor the pool at all times, make it easy to rent a little bike, and Wednesday through Saturday they have ice cream socials.

I was a bit surprised that I did not see more children here. They have all the amenities that they have in Billings. I think some of the other reviews do not paint a quality picture of this place from a child’s eye. This is my daughters favorite place. From the bike rental to the playground, putt putt golf, swimming pool (2 Adult hot tubs - very clean).

Of course as Tenters the big thing I look at is where I am pounding in my stakes :-) and the grass here in Missoula is perfect. They have several very creative approaches to tent sites. The one that I am staying at has a tent circle, five sites in the round, facing outward, fenced on each side with a picnic table, stand up barbecue, fire pit that is grated, picnic table, running water, electricity, and nice grass. I wish more campgrounds had this creative approach. Everything is well spread out and segregated between cabins, centers, and RV’s.

They even have two really nice teepees in the center of the campground. They are super deluxe and the next time I come here I will be staying in one of them. See the photos.

The campground store is the best stock store of all the KOA’s that I stayed in on this trip. They have everything from ice cream sandwiches to souvenirs.

The facilities are well-maintained and very clean. I’d like the cypher locks on the bathrooms/showers for safety. The driveways are well-maintained, they have a painted bike path for riders. Overall this was just wonderful!

If you have a couple days here I would suggest a 40 minute drive to the National Bison Range. The kids will love it!

PS - My daughter wanted me to add that they have three very large bunnies that roll around the campground. She loves them.

    The Sanctuary Campground

    BEST VIEWS AND HOT SHOWERS!

The have lots of campsites, group sites, small cabins, and big cabins!  We rented a big cabin for the 6 of us!

They have restrooms with hot showers! There were lots hiking trails and ATV riding trails!

The views looking at the Rocky Mountains were breath taking!  There was a community area where we could hang out and have a bonfire!

And the price was so reasonable!

    Whitefish-Kalispell North KOA

    Family friendly, not really “camping”

If you’re looking for family friendly, this is your spot. Lots of kids activities. Free breakfast. Washrooms, showers and laundry facility available. Scenically, it’s not very pretty. Sites are very close together with little privacy. Our spot was so small we couldn’t fit our tent, picnic table and fire pit in it. We had to park somewhere else, and move the picnic table our. If you prefer exploring nature and quiet, this isn’t the park for you.

Finley Point Unit — Flathead Lake State Park

A little taste of Lake Tahoe

We loved this place ! This is a peaceful, very well taken care of CG . It’s about 3 miles of the main road around Flathead lake , nestled in a beautiful lakeside neighborhood. The road to the CG is well paved & dotted with lovely lake homes , orchards & a few fresh produce stands if the season is right. Everyone’s yards were chocked FULL of deer!! They were everywhere! I never get sick of seeing deer & this was no exception. They were thick as thieves & a fun sight to see! Nothing like a ton of deer to welcome you on your travels . Once at the CG we were greeted by a friendly ranger , given some nifty area maps / info & kindly guided to our site. Our site was fantastic. Site 5 in an upper loop. It was up on an overlook & had a fantastic view of the lake thru a few beautiful pines. The site was paved, level & super easy to back into with a travel trailer. We sprung for an electric site. There’s a picnic table & fire ring too. There aren’t many trees between sites but they are well spaced & situated so that you aren’t staring into your neighbors site full on. Once we got settled in we took a stroll & followed a little path leading from the upper sites down to the water front sites & boat slips & beach. There’s a designated beach area where there are rv sites & tent sites available. While I wanted to be lakeside, these sites are a little bit busier & bustling due to the beach area & boaters. It’s to be expected at a CG with such a big boat launch area. It got a little busy during the day but it completely tolerable, & we cherish our peace & quiet ! If you just walk down a small strip of shoreline from the designated beach area, there is an area of small shore that’s quieter & less populated. The tent sites in this area looked very cool. Overall we found this CG to be lovely. It was actually pretty quiet despite some minor boat activity & beach noise. Somehow it all just blended into the background buzz. Everyone seemed to be respectful of the area & just wanted to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The grounds are well kept & the hosts are hard at work staying on top of things . And all the hosts were very nice . This park is also very pet friendly! There are cute little statins set up , fully stocked with poops bags & Flathead Lake personalized leaves . Such a thoughtful touch! We loved this place so much , we stayed two days , left for a night , then ended up coming back for another 2 days !

    The Jack Saloon

    Nice and peaceful

We stayed at one of the cabins, small but with everything that you need (bed, coffee maker, bathroom with toiletries, mini fridge and microwave). There are several cute hiking trails with gorgeous scenery. Also, the saloon offers good comfort food and beverages.

    Polson-Flathead Lake KOA

    Beautiful campground

Beautiful spot with great views of Flathead Lake. The RV sites were nice and spacious and level with their own patio and chairs. They also offer cabins and tent sites. Some tent sites have water and electric. I was car camping and I had a strange campsite by the cabins for a tent but I couldn't park at the site. There was a small lot close by so that was fine but it also seemed pretty far from the bathrooms. The bathroom was very clean and I loved the private showers. The laundry area was spacious and clean. They also had several brochures on local activities. The wifi didn't seem to reach the tent sites though.

Wild Horse Hot Springs receives praise for "Clean, quiet, comfortable, relaxing, and beautiful views. Almost no light pollution at night, I've never seen the Milky Way like this before!"
