Several campgrounds near Noel, Missouri provide RV sites with varying amenities and proximity to natural attractions. Most campgrounds remain open year-round, with seasonal changes affecting road conditions during winter months. Campgrounds within 30 miles of Noel offer access to fishing, hiking, and water activities, particularly along Grand Lake and nearby river systems. Sites typically range from basic water and electric hookups to full-service options with concrete pads and sewer connections.
What to do
Fishing access points: Monkey Island RV Resort sits near excellent fishing spots on Grand Lake. "This is a great RV resort close to the water but with very little shade. It is right across the street from Tera Miranda that has a cool restaurant on the water," notes Jennifer O.
Mountain biking trails: Blowing Springs RV Park & Campsites offers direct trail access. "This is your basic parking lot campground. Your site is all cement with full hook ups and a picnic table. No green areas to call your own, BUT you have incredible instant access to the trailhead of many singletrack bike and hiking trails," according to Brian S.
Golf courses: The Creeks Golf & RV Resort combines camping with golfing opportunities. "They have monthly spots available and also weekly/nightly rates. About 1/3 are full timers... It's nice and clean, management is helpful, and discounts on the golf," says TJ W.
What campers like
Casino proximity: Whispering Woods RV Park offers easy casino access. "Pick a spot and sign in at the hotel registration counter. Code for the bath facilities will be provided at that time. Close to the casino and well landscaped," reports Luckybreak R.
Concrete pads: Downstream RV Park provides level parking areas. "It's a free concrete parking lot with hookups. Clean, a little grass for pets. Did I mention the first night is free if you register at the Casino and get a players card," explains Jim W.
Scenic lake views: Several rv sites near Noel, Missouri feature water frontage. "This site had a large lawn area due to site 91 being decommissioned because of flooding a while back. We enjoyed a very nice lake view as this site is probably the best site in the park," reports MickandKarla W.
What you should know
Cell service variations: Grand Lake O' the Cherokees RV Resort has moderate connectivity. "We got 3 bars on Verizon and the park WiFi was average for a park this size," notes one camper.
Sewer connection placement: Some RV parks have awkward utility layouts. "We had to buy an extra sewer hose to connect to sewer, as it was placed so far toward entrance of the site, rather than toward rear of site where electric and water were appropriately placed," reports a visitor.
Reservation policies: Many campgrounds operate on first-come basis during off-peak seasons. "No reservations, only first come. Gas station on property with easy in/out plus food and liquor," explains Sommer J.
Tips for camping with families
Natural spring exploration: Crystal Springs RV Resort offers unique water features. "There is a little spring onsite and very friendly owners," shares Alexis M. while another visitor notes it's a "Nice peaceful valley surrounded by springs and walking trails."
Dog-friendly areas: Multiple campgrounds accommodate pets with designated spaces. "There are two small fenced dog areas but plenty of room to walk your dogs," reports one reviewer about facilities at Grand Lake.
Separate tent camping sections: Blowing Springs separates RVs from tent campers. "What I like about this campground is that the tent sites are separate from the RV area, and RV's don't have to go through the tents to get to their area," explains Annie C.
Tips from RVers
Winter preparation: RV sites near Noel require cold weather readiness. "We were not prepared for below-freezing conditions so we had to gear up to keep the water lines from freezing," warns Brian C. about his stay at The Creeks Golf & RV Resort.
Big rig access concerns: Logan Cave RV & Varnadoe Ranch has challenging access roads. "It is hard to find with GPS directions, so be sure and make contact with the owner concerning directions. 30 amp site is unlevel dirt next to a wellhouse with electricity and water only on private property. Entrance street is dirt and quite narrow and bumpy and not clearly marked," cautions Kathy C.
Overnight stopover options: Many campgrounds offer convenient one-night stays. "Clean. Safe. Great for an overnight on our way from Joplin to OK City. $30 for electricity and water. Easy check in and plenty of spots," reports Jennifer M.
