Lake of the Ozarks State Park Campground

Pretty camping area, lake was filthy and smelly

This was a pretty campsite with lots of trees and simple deer trails throughout. Sites are well spread out. The lake itself was filthy and smelly. Lots of trash and rotting fish on the shorelines. The campground website said they had WiFi throughout the campsite, however it was only available at the front office. No cell service. We had planned to stay for a week to school and work remotely, but had to cut our time here short because of no connectivity. If we hadn’t had the need for WiFi, this would have been a fine campground to stay at, as it is centrally located to many sightseeing locations.

Sties were level, kid and pet friendly, quiet campground, 30/50 amp electricity, no water hookups, firewood avail for fire pits, also had nice picnic tables. Inexpensive.

    Ozark Farms Family Campground

    Great, super clean

Ozark Farms Family Campground was great!!! Easy to get into, flat gravel pad, with picnic table, fire pit and full hookups. We had the larger 50 amp site #3. We did not use the shower house but it looked nice and clean. The bounce house was a huge hit for my 7 year old. I was surprised to learn the owner also has 2 beautiful air BnB's that our friends will use next time we come. Definately one of our favorite trips!!!!

    Damsite

    Good fishing and great views

Very peaceful campground. It has a peninsula with some nice, shady sites but also another very wooded area on a bluff. The backside of the peninsula has zero shade (sites 26-40). All sites have good picnic tables and fire rings. Sites near the dump station can be very aromatic. No swim beach but you can access the water straight from the rocky shore. A lot of people tie their boats to shore below their campsite. There is a gas station/trading post right outside the entrance. And a tasty little restaurant with all kinds of sandwiches and ice cream treats. Beautiful sunrises and the sun sets over the dam. I really like this campground. Family friendly and everyone seems to have a dog:) but people do a good job of picking up after them.

    Osage Campground Retreat

    Full hookups but sketchy

Clean grounds, close to a conservation boat ramp and again full hookups. That’s about where it ends.

Most sites appear to be year-round Occupied. Fifth wheels with buried to sewer lines And people riding their lawn mowers outside their campers.

All things being equal it seems like more of a trailer park with a few camping vacancies.

    Haven Hollow RV Park

    Wonderful place to stay!

This place is much more like private property (with the bonus of full hookups), than an “RV park”. Everything about this place is A+. Roomy, level, and clean lots. Organized & friendly owners. Great lot amenities (fire pits, picnic tables with umbrellas, well maintained hookups). Beautiful views in very direction (open fields, tree lines, greenery, pond, clear views of sky). Very well maintained & marked grass walking trails throughout the property. Easy to find. Not too far interstate. Easy to back in site. This place was perfect for us & our dogs & our large 36’ fifth wheel while we explored and traveled Route 66.

Doolittle Acres RV Park and Campground

    Nice area

Good area only a mile off the highway so it made a great night stopping point. Had great access for our starlink. They have a little dog park, kids park, and it was all clean and well maintained. Easy access and some nice pull through spots. Water, sewer, and electric hook ups. Fire pit and picnic table at site. Since it’s close the highway it was a little loud with traffic. 57$ a night for premium spots, 42$ a night for non premium

    Turkey Creek RV Park

    Nice Campground! Nice and Quiet!

Turkey Creek was a very nice campground for our month long stay.  The park is well maintained and clean.  It is very quiet!  There is a train track nearby, but we only heard it a few times during our stay.

Amenities included full hook up, laundry room, bathrooms, showers and a fenced dog park where you 4 legged friends can enjoy some off-leash time.  We had 4 bars with AT&T and waffled between 1-3 bars with Verizon.

The location is great for visiting local attractions such as Branson Landing, Silver Dollar City and Top of the Rock.

Really appreciate the park manager, she was friendly and brought an overpayment to our attention and quickly issued a refund.

    Great experience overall!

    Ozark Farms Family Campground

    Friendly folks and well-maintained

Stayed here for a weekend during the hottest part of the summer. Most sites have decent shade.

Sites are back-in with a coarse gravel pad. Current bathhouse is adequate, but a new one is being built. New one looks to be about four times the size of the old one.

There is a raised fire-ring and a picnic table at each site. There is firewood available for purchase.

Grounds sit next to a state numbered highway, so access is easy. Don't expect a remote setting. The highway traffic can be distracting if you're used to camping in the woods.

Guide to Kaiser

Kaiser, Missouri RV parks offer varying seasonal availability beyond just full hookups. Most campgrounds near Lake of the Ozarks operate spring through fall, with some exceptions like Majestic Oaks RV Park open year-round. Access varies dramatically between parks, with some requiring navigation of steep or unpaved roads. Terrain generally consists of tiered campsites on hillsides or lakefront properties offering water views and boat access at select locations.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: Cross Creek RV Park provides an 8-acre stocked private lake with boat rentals. A camper notes, "You can fish right off the bank of your own private island within minutes of waking up," making it ideal for fishing enthusiasts seeking immediate water access.

Water recreation: Riveria Villas RV Resort features exceptional lake views and swimming options. "The pool area sits on top of a bluff overlooking the lake. It's absolutely beautiful. The pool area also has a very nice cabana, firepit, and bathrooms," according to a visitor who appreciated the lakeside amenities.

Hiking trails: Several campgrounds offer on-site trail networks for day hiking. "Nice park, hiking trails on site, spots are well maintained. Good amenities on site and very close to everything the Lake has to offer," reports one visitor to Majestic Oaks Family RV Park.

What campers like

Centralized location: Many campers value being near Lake of the Ozarks attractions. "Campground is clean, and is close to many attractions near the Lake of the Ozarks," mentions a reviewer of Lake Ozarks RV Resort, highlighting the convenience factor for exploring the region.

Clean facilities: Consistently mentioned across reviews is the maintenance quality of shower houses and restrooms. "Very clean RV park near grocery store and food. Also near the Lake Of the Ozarks State Park. This RV park has everything you'd need," notes one camper about Osage Beach RV Park.

Walkable access: Osage Beach RV Park offers proximity to town services. "This campground offered so much more and was closer to town so we could walk to restaurants," states a reviewer who appreciated not needing to drive for meals and services.

What you should know

Reservation requirements: Three-night minimums apply at some premium parks. "The campground itself can only be booked through the campsite and there is a 3 night minimum stay," warns a visitor to Riveria Villas RV Resort.

Road conditions: Several campgrounds have challenging access roads. "The road to get in and out of this place is absolutely ridiculous. You can try to go 1mph to avoid potholes or washed out area just to hit the next pothole and washed out area," cautions a visitor to Cross Creek RV Park.

WiFi reliability: Internet connectivity varies widely between parks and campsite locations. "Wifi is spotty, but my site was at the back of the campground," notes a camper at Lake Ozarks RV Resort, while another at Osage Beach RV Park reported "excellent WiFi that had boosters all throughout the campground."

Tips for camping with families

Holiday activities: Some campgrounds offer special seasonal events. "The events around halloween are always so fun for kids and adults alike. They truly put so much work into making it the best experience for their guests," shares a camper about Majestic Oaks RV Park & Campground.

Recreation options: Multiple on-site activities keep children engaged. "Kids love the mini golf, shuffleboard, and basketball. Huge private lake great for fishing and watching duck families swim by and come up to you on the grass!" explains a Cross Creek RV Park visitor.

Safety considerations: Some parks have limited lighting and heavy golf cart traffic. "Kids on bikes all night with no lights on bikes or grounds. It's a free for all," warns a Coconuts RV Resort visitor, highlighting potential safety concerns during busy periods.

Tips from RVers

Site spacing: Many Kaiser area campgrounds feature closely spaced sites. "The reason I took a star off was that the sites were closer together than I like," mentions an Osage Beach RV Park visitor, a common sentiment across multiple campgrounds.

Leveling expectations: Site terrain varies widely between parks. "Our site was mostly level," notes a camper at Lake Ozark RV Park and Campground, though this isn't universal across all campgrounds in the area.

Construction awareness: Newer parks may still be developing. "It is clearly still under construction, which I was not aware of. My guess is this was the first season it was open. Half of the park still had conex boxes and construction equipment around," shares a visitor about Lake Ozarks RV Resort.
