    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Several RV parks surround Dora in southern Missouri, offering varying levels of accommodations for motorhomes and travel trailers. Classic RV Park in Hardenville provides full hookups with electric, water, and sewer connections on big-rig friendly sites. Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park in Mansfield operates year-round with both 30-amp and 50-amp service on gravel pads that require careful leveling. "The sites are a little close together and you are on a hill, but we had no problem in our 31' class A. Gravel pads made leveling easy," noted one visitor. Cedar Ridge RV Park & Storage offers 35 sites with full hookups including 50-amp service, while Road Runner RV Park features concrete pull-through spaces with some long-term residents but several sites reserved for overnight travelers.

Full hookup availability varies significantly across parks in the region, with most offering electric and water connections but not all including sewer at each site. Dump stations are available at multiple locations, though their placement can sometimes be inconvenient. Cell service ranges from excellent at Hand Cove Resort RV Park to limited coverage in more remote locations. Many parks accommodate pets, but specific restrictions may apply. Seasonal considerations affect site availability, with some parks experiencing partial flooding during heavy spring rains. Navigation to certain campgrounds requires careful planning as several reviewers mention narrow access roads—one noted having to "unhook our toad before taking the road down" when approaching with a larger motorhome. Most parks offer trash collection, and several feature on-site laundry facilities.

      Road Runner RV Park

      Nicely spaced and clean campground

We stayed at this campground 1 night on our way between COVID-19 quarantine locations.  We found the park easy to navigate (no tight turns).  Large semi paved spaces (I say semi paved because the concrete pads were crumbling at least in our spot).  Good separation between sites with picnic tables, no shade but they do have a dog park.  Hookups were easy to reach and appeared to be in good repair.  Decent water pressure.  Many of the spaces were permanent campers or long term workers but it felt safe and appeared well maintained.

      Fishermans Paradise

      Off the beaten path

For starters the RV park is about 1/4 down a 1 lane gravel road so if you’re pulling a big rig you better hope you don’t meet another vehicle. All the 50 amp full hookup sites seem to be in use by permanent residents. The 30 amp sites are not on level ground. No water or sewer connections for the 30 amp sites. The road also gets a little steep and winding to the 30 amp sites. Nice small lakes make for a nice view once you get into the valley.

      Dam - Quarry

      Clean campground, nice location

Average space between sites. Level paved sites with gravel picnic area including picnic table, fire ring, lantern hanger. Some sites had covered picnic area. Limited shade, most sites don’t have trees. Good access to sites. Clean and private bathrooms. Each room had its own lockable bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. Garbage cans were outside of bathrooms, as well as dumpsters near the registration building. Friendly staff upon check in. Campground was patrolled regularly. No laundry or recycling. Nearby road with little road noise. Verizon cell signal was excellent. There is a dump station and potable fill station. No store or food for purchase on site. No hiking in campground, but multiple trails nearby. Boat ramp at campground and lots of wading fly fishing in river. Fish hatchery across from campground.

      White Buffalo Resort

      Beautiful

This location was our maiden voyage with our new fifth wheel RV. White buffalo resort is a beautiful place to stay with very friendly and helpful staff. Met some friendly, long-term RV’ers. The only drawback is they don’t have a bike trail except for around the campground (4stars). They offer free Wi-Fi, has a nice clean pool, adequate playground and pavilion. Scenery is fantastic.

      Beaver Creek (MO)

Terrific, beautiful, well spaced out, right on the lake

This was a terrific campground. It was a little tricky getting to the campsite with a big rig. We had to unhook our toad before taking the road down. There is a ridiculous low-hanging HUGE sign on the road leading to the campground (NOT the campground’s fault) that you had to drive around in order to get down the correct area.

The campground itself is really lovely - right on the lake. There is a swimming beach, but we were there off-season, so too cold for us to enjoy. The sites were well spread out and private. The camp hosts were so nice and really kind to our children. The older man reminded me a bit of Sam Elliot (without the voice) and had lots of stories to share of his days traveling, hiking, and back country camping.

This is a really cool area with lots to discover. We will definitely return.

Amenities: water, sewer, 50 amp, level site, lots of trees, some wildlife (including a luna moth!)

Things not included: no WiFi, but AT&T service was good, no laundry facilities

      Blue Heron Campground

      Some nice amenities, some lacking.

My wife and I camped here for four nights. Overall it was nice, but there were some things that I wish we knew. The location is great in the sense that it’s easy to get to and it’s laid out well. Unfortunately, it’s directly under an overpass and it is loud- loud enough that I used ear plugs at night.

It’s located on the White river and has a very nice gravel boat ramp, which is a big positive. It also has fishing access during low water.

The WiFi is excellent and the staff are super helpful and friendly.

The biggest plus for us is the bathrooms were among the best that we have found. They’re clean and fairly new.

There is plenty of property to walk and they were very pet friendly. It looks like many of the guests are long term residents.

      Lakeview - Bull Shoals Lake

      Wonderful camping

Great site to camp. Concrete pads and asphalt driveway. Good road around campsites. Pads are very level. Sites have a lot of space between them with many Oak shade trees. Covered picnic table. The table was newer aluminum and clean. Camping at it’s best. Good water and electric hook up. Dump station has two stalls and is in great shape.

      Bull Shoals-White River State Park

      Fisherman’s Paradise on White River

I had heard that Bull Shoals- White River State Park was beautiful, but I didn’t fully understand until I saw it. All of the campsites face white river and there’s plenty of space between sites to allow for some level of privacy. All the campsites are flat with nice concrete pads. Each campsite has a fire ring, picnic table, and trash pole.

There is a newer section of the campground that is north of the marina. These campsites have newer asphalt and fire rings and have better access to the updated ADA bath houses. These bath houses are the single-quad bath houses where the toilet and shower are individualized into four quadrants. They are excellent for those campers that might not have travel trailers or self-contained units.

We were able to hike and fish most days. there is a playground and a basketball court that are functional and easy to access for families. The campground is mostly flat which makes it very easy to ride a bike. There were a lot of kids and adults riding bikes or scooters in the campground. There are also three trailers that have been converted into mobile homes near the marina for those campers that don’t have access to a pop-up or a camper for rent. They look very nice. The marina is also very nice and has a lot of simple supplies and merchandise.

When the dam is not releasing generators, you can wade out into the river from your campsite and fish; however, when they release the generators this is going to be very difficult. The only drawback is that you are inundated all day long with boat motors going up and down White River. It is very tranquil and peaceful in the mornings and evenings.

There are many different outfitters that do fishing trips. We chartered the afternoon with a local outfitter and had a great time. We caught a number of trout and were able to eat them for dinner on our last night. If you like to fish, enjoy camping, and enjoy doing both of those things, Bull-Shoals-White River state park is the place to go. I will definitely be going back!
