    Whitewater RV Park

    No frills Downhome

Mountain View is a great small town in the Arkansas Ozarks. This is not the place to come if you have to be entertained but can make your own fun or settle back and relax. Whitewater RV Park sounds exciting, high speed but no. Time to kickback, read a book, head to the square and listen to the ozark mountain music they are famous for. You can find all kinds of things to do and a place to stay is at Whitewater RV Park on a quiet town street not that far off from the court square. Free WiFi and if you pay extra you can get high speed wireless. Cable tv, pull through sites, dump station, full hook ups, laundry, shower house, flush toilets. This park has mature trees with lots of shade. It is located walking distance from the courthouse which is in the middle of the square. Granted it is UP the hill but it makes for a nice walk. In the square during the season you will often find locals and visitors picking and singing. It is a treat and free for the enjoyment. Mountain View also has one of the few remaining Drive In movie theaters. Check this place out for the weekly and monthly rates. Stay six nights and get seventh one free. For a small town Mountain View has so much to offer it’s guests. It brings our minds to days gone be. Weekends will find pickers on the square or concerts at Ozark Folk Center. Few campgrounds have pools but you can find a creek to dip your toes in. You have your choice of stand up paddle board canoe kayak Loco Ropes mountain biking hiking antiquing movie’s trail rides fishing I think you have the idea. MOVIES. Mountain View has a movie theater and one of the few drive in theaters left in th USA. Both offer first run movies.
Have fun. Leave No Trace. Better than you found it.

    Blue Sky RV Park

    Great Spot

This place is so much bigger than it looks. Great pull through sites. Great sites for family camping. It is located not far from town on a busy highway Highway 5 but once you pull off the road you would never know. Very shaded and mature trees. Owner has tried to think of everything but you will not find a swimming pool There are several outside family games and the local area is Loaded with fun things to do. Blue Sky even has event space that you can rent if you are staying in the park. 30 and 50 amp service cable TV available, free WiFi high speed with additional charge. Weekly and monthly rates available and check out the seventh night free. White River is not far, bring a boat or rent one. Trout fishing is great. Your options are open in this small community.  Get ready because Arkansas has ticks, chiggers, and humidity.

Mountain View RV Park and Guest Motel

Good Things Come In Small Packages

I have driven by this campground numerous times not paying a lot of attention. Today I paid attention and realized I have made a mistake. There is a high fence that assist in keep this corner of Mountain View private. An oasis for anyone that wishes to venture in. A traveler will find a welcome smile and an amazing view. They will also find a well maintained campground and a motel. The campground offers concrete pads or gravel, 30 and 50 amp service, full hook ups, cable tv, wi-fi, high speed for extra fee, coin operated laundry, community fire pit with wood provided, dog friendly, showers and toilets and more. The motel offers all the amenities you would expect to find in a branded hotel/motel. There are eight motel rooms and two cabins available for rent. Both the campground and motel have access to two recreation rooms. Both have full kitchens, tv, stereo, dining tables and chairs. One recreation room has limited exercise equipment. There is 1.5 acres of green space that is also available for all guest. The view from the green space is worth dreaming over that morning cup of coffee. There are things you will not find in many campgrounds in Mountain View. Much of the entertainment in this area will be of a natural source. Weekends will find pickers on the square or concerts at the Ozark Folk Center. If you want to take a dip look to the creeks or the river. Stand up paddle boarding, canoe, kayak, Loco Ropes, mountain bike trails, hiking, antiquing, trail rides, fishing and I’m sure you get the idea. Movies. There is a movie theatre and the cherry on top is a drive in movie. Mountain View Drive In is one of only a few left in the US. You will find first run movies at both.

    Red River RV Park

    Nice clean, small RV park

Nice clean, small RV park at Highway 67/167 and CW Road in Judsonia, one exit north of the Searcy Race Street exit. 30 spaces total with 3 pull through sites. No internet or laundry on-site but the electrical set up is good. Water and sewer are in good locations but the water connection box was holding water during our stay. Daily, weekly, or monthly rates available. My Verizon LTE hotspot averaged between 5 and 10 Mbps down and 0.8 to 1.6 up. My Verizon 5g phone averaged 75 to 85 Mbps down and 28 to 35 Mbps up. One of my neighbors was on a T-mobile 5g hotspot and was consistently over 50 Mbps download.

    Dam Site Campground

    Very nice and clean

We stayed 3 nights over a weekend in early September. We had a pull through site in loop N that was perfect for our 41’ fifth wheel...plenty big, clean, and level. It was a little sunny, but other than that no complaints. The other loops were more wooded, but wouldn’t be good for big rigs. We will definitely come again.

    Dam - Quarry

    Clean campground, nice location

Average space between sites. Level paved sites with gravel picnic area including picnic table, fire ring, lantern hanger. Some sites had covered picnic area. Limited shade, most sites don’t have trees. Good access to sites. Clean and private bathrooms. Each room had its own lockable bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. Garbage cans were outside of bathrooms, as well as dumpsters near the registration building. Friendly staff upon check in. Campground was patrolled regularly. No laundry or recycling. Nearby road with little road noise. Verizon cell signal was excellent. There is a dump station and potable fill station. No store or food for purchase on site. No hiking in campground, but multiple trails nearby. Boat ramp at campground and lots of wading fly fishing in river. Fish hatchery across from campground.

    Sylamore Creek Camp

    Great site!

We love this campground. We love having direct access to creek. It is kayak, family, pet friendly. The only thing it is lacking is internet connection, which for us is a plus for disconnecting. All sites are reasonably level. Site F is the premium and most secluded full hook up site. They have all levels of sites: primitive, water and electric, or full. Their small store has firewood and many other convenient items for sale. We take our own kayaks, but they do have rentals. They have public showers and restrooms, but the restrooms are currently closed due to renovations. It’s really one of our favorite local sites to camp.

    Reservations:  877-444-6777 or recreation.gov

Boat ramp   drinking water   dump station   marina   restrooms with flush toilets   showers   day use picnic area playground

Greers Ferry Dam Site is one of several around the lake created by the Greers Ferry Dam which created the 40,000 acre lake.  The dam was dedicated by John F Kennedy one month prior to his death.

Be aware that many of the sites might be hard to back into or hard to level your rig.  The area is thickly wooded and that might make it difficult.  There are a lot of large moss covered rocks that help to set the scene for  wooded wonderland for tents and smaller rigs.  Check your site before parking this park like many of the Corp of Engineer parks are older and built with tent and small RV's in mind.  It is a beautiful site and in Arkansas you must try the fishing

Directions:  3 miles northeast of Heber Springs, AR by way of SR 25 Bypass.

    Blue Sky RV Park

Nice place for visiting Mountain View, AR

Nice clean park. Lots of tall trees that are well trimmed above RV’s. Host was very nice and helpful.

Close to visit Ozark Folk Life Center and Mountain View for the Folk Music. Easy access to the sites. Cable TV for $1.00 per day. Good hook ups. Reasonable price of $25 per night with free WiFi.

Our site was up front so we had a little road noise from the 2 lane highway but it wasn’t bad. Sites further back would be quiet. Gravel pads that are level.

Guide to Mountain View

Mountain View RV parks provide a range of options for travelers visiting the Ozarks. The city sits at 757 feet elevation in the southern Ozark Mountains, surrounded by limestone bluffs and wooded hills. Seasonal variations affect camping experiences, with most campgrounds experiencing humid summers reaching into the 90s and mild winters with occasional freezing temperatures.

What to do

Folk music experiences: The Ozark Folk Center State Park is within walking distance of Ozark RV Park, making it convenient for music enthusiasts. "We chose this campground because of its proximity to the Ozark Folk Center. We are here for the Bluegrass and Fried Chicken festival this weekend at the center. It is within walking distance with a secret walkthrough from the campground to the Folk Center grounds," notes Ashley B.

Boating activities: Greers Ferry Lake, accessible from Fairfield Bay RV Campground & Marina, offers extensive water recreation. "The marina has a very nice, well stocked shop with a little cafe around the corner. I remember one of my favorite things when I went there as a child was when they'd give me a bag of fish food to throw to the massive catfish off the dock," shares Charly S.

Downtown exploration: Most Mountain View RV parks are located near the historic town square. "The town square is only 1/4 mile away. A nice park for walking is next door," writes Wolfgang M. about the local attractions accessible from their campsite.

What campers like

Shade coverage: Mature trees provide relief during hot Arkansas summers at Blue Sky RV Park. "Nice clean park. Lots of tall trees that are well trimmed above RV's. Host was very nice and helpful," states Wayne P., highlighting the maintenance of the trees to accommodate vehicles.

Scenic views: Several RV parks offer natural vistas not mentioned in promotional materials. "We had a back in spot along the ridge with a pretty field behind us and an amazing view," explains Bonita C. about her stay at Mountain View RV Park and Guest Motel.

Entertainment options: Beyond standard amenities, the area offers unique entertainment. "Mountain View has a movie theatre and one of the few drive in theaters left in the USA. First run movies will be found at both," explains a camper about local attractions.

What you should know

Seasonal operations: Most RV parks in Mountain View operate from March through November, though some remain open year-round. "We stayed September 2022. Electric & water only. Dump site about half mile away, with dumpsters for trash," notes MGySgt K.

Site leveling challenges: Some campgrounds require extra equipment for proper setup. "Hard to level. We were unable to use auto level and had to manually level. The front jacks were hardly down at all and the back jacks were all the way down," reports Caroline S.

Internet connectivity: Wi-Fi quality varies significantly between parks. "Good hook ups. Reasonable price of $25 per night with free WiFi," mentions Wayne P., though other campgrounds charge extra fees for high-speed connections.

Tips for camping with families

Recreation areas: Several parks offer dedicated spaces for family activities. "There is 1.5 acres of green space that is also available for all guests. The view from the green space is worth dreaming over that morning cup of coffee," notes a visitor.

Nature activities: The surrounding area provides natural entertainment options. "If you like hiking, you can go less than a quarter mile off almost any main road and see abundant wildlife, a meandering creek, sometimes even a waterfall! There are hiking trails literally everywhere, of all kinds of difficulty levels," shares Charly S. from Fairfield Bay RV Campground & Marina.

Budget-friendly options: Some parks offer deals for longer stays. "Weekly and monthly rates available and check out the seventh night free," reports a camper about extended stay pricing.

Tips from RVers

Bathroom facilities: Quality and cleanliness of facilities varies between parks. "Bath house is clean, with number pad locks on the doors so only guests can use," notes Wolfgang M. about security measures.

Park layout: Consider site positioning when booking. "Our site was up front so we had a little road noise from the 2-lane highway but it wasn't bad. Sites further back would be quiet. Gravel pads that are level," advises Wayne P. about Blue Sky RV Park.

Site length: Longer RVs should confirm adequate space. "Our site was very long. It was nice to be able to unhook and have plenty of room for the 5th wheel and truck," shares Caroline S. about the spacious accommodations.
