Camping near Bienville National Forest
Bienville National Forest in Mississippi has several good camping options throughout its wooded areas. Roosevelt State Park Campground draws many campers with its clean sites and a lake where you can fish or take a boat out. Goshen Springs Campground is close by and has bigger sites with full hookups that work well for RVs. You'll likely see deer and lots of birds while camping here, so store your food properly to keep wildlife away from your site. Watch for fire rules, which get strict during dry weather, and look into whether you need permits before you arrive. You should book spots at either campground ahead of time, especially in spring and fall when more people visit. You can usually make reservations a few months early, which is smart during busy times. Summer gets hot and sticky in this part of Mississippi, making spring and fall much nicer for camping trips. Winter camping works too, but nights can get pretty cold. Both campgrounds have bathrooms and places to eat outside. If you want something more basic, you can find dispersed camping in certain forest areas. Remember to follow Leave No Trace practices while you're there. Bienville National Forest makes for a good trip whether you're bringing an RV or tent camping.
