      Blind Sucker #1 State Forest Campground

      Level sandy and grass site close to pit toilet and water spigot. Empty campground, dirt roads, no electricity. The Pathway and NCt run through the campground if you like to hike.

      Tmobile was 2 bars LTE, great site for large and samll campers or SxS's. Right down the road from Blind Sucker 2 and Lake Superior SF Campground.

      Picnic Table and concrete fire pit, some sites are side by side and very open.

      Large sandy with some grass and mostly level site. Easily fit a 30' camper and truck or trailer w SxS. 50' from Lake Superior, picnic table with concrete fire pit, partly shaded.

      Tmobile had 3 bars LTE, No electric, water spigot was next to register station. Very clean pit toilets. $20 per night plus Rec pass.  Site 9 is open right next to 10, would make a good group site.

      Plenty of rocks on the sandy beach if you like to rock hound.

      Munising Tourist Park Campground

      Convenient to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

      This campground is located directly on Lake Superior and operated by the city of Munising. It has 100 RV sites and 22 tent sites. About 1/4 of the RV sites provide water, sewer, and 50/30/20 electrical hookups. The rest of the RV sites provide shared water spigots (with both line pressure and with pressure reducers) and shared 30/20 electrical pedestals. Depending on the site, the water or electrical hookups may require an extension cord or another hose length to reach your RV.  The campground is quite open, only the tent sites have any privacy. Do to lack of obstructions, I saw several starlink antennas on rigs.....  The campground offers decent wifi and two very nice bath houses with flush toilets and showers. It also offers a dump station on site with tank flush and potable water fill stations. A beautiful sandy beach fronts the campground. One negative is that Michigan Hwy 28 runs past the campground and it has plenty of traffic at all hours.

      We visited with plans to take a Pictured Rocks boat tour, but 3 days of gale force winds scrubbed those plans. The boat tours were canceled.

      The first thing we noticed driving in is that the wash house closes today 10/14 at 4 PM for the season, which isn’t an issue for us. Open sites, walkways to a rocky beach, but also trail to a sandy beach. Our site is not level.

      Marquette Tourist Park Campground

      It is what it is

      This is probably the CG I was least excited about. The site seemed overcrowded with not much separation between sites. Just a big open park, next to a lake crammed with people. The staff were friendly when I called to reserve a site and were bang on when I requested one with WiFi. Because there were no tent camping sites I got one with electrical hook ups and at least recovered some of that cost plugging in my EV. But the adjoining site had a ginormous tent and a boisterous group and CD were less than five feet from my electric box.

      I didn’t use them but the sower area was spacious and the bathrooms weren’t dirty.

      By far the least fav CG I’ve stayed at on this trip and would look elsewhere next time but truth be told I’ve stayed at some great places. Stayed 10/2.

    Reservation timing: Advanced booking is essential during peak season. "This centrally-located campground was a decent spot for RVers. It looked to be fairly new: impeccable and level sites, well-spaced out, and full hook-ups. Wifi and AT&T service was good, though we didn't use much," reports Melissa H. about Pictured Rocks RV Park.

    Site leveling: Several campgrounds have uneven terrain. "Have plenty of levelling equipment available!! Some are very level, some are not level at all. We were in spot 32 and 4" laterally and 19" longitudinally out of level to start with - at my max hitch jack limit and still 3" nose low," warns Alan B. about BayRidge RV Park.

    Bug preparedness: Insects can be problematic in certain seasons. "There were a lot of bugs while we were there, so it was hard to stay outdoors for a long period of time during certain times of the day. But this is the Mid-west and it is just part of this region of the US," explains Sam C.

    Child-friendly activities: Seek out campgrounds with dedicated play areas. "Our kids loved that there is a pool, hot tub & bouncy pillow! This is our 2nd time staying & both were because of its convenience to 'civilization' not to get away from it," shares Jessica P. about Country Village RV Park.

    Site selection for families: Choose sites based on activity access. "The kids stumbled upon a sand dune just off the main stretch of campsites. Not sure if they were supposed to be there, but a little playing in the dirt can't hurt, right?!" mentions Melissa H.
