This is private land that the owner rents to campers. It is a lovely single camp site with great views and fields. It is relatively close to the road but there is very little traffic and no noise. The space is level. There is a picnic table, fire ring, full hook ups, and box with an information sheet that includes things to do and places to eat for the surrounding area. The view was expansive and beautiful, with wonderful sunsets. The walking trails that have been cut are lovely, and a great place for a short walk, or to walk with your dog. The owner met us immediately upon our arrival and was very friendly. The only challenge is we stayed in July, and the horse flys were viscous. They were not by the campsite, but were abundant on the trails, and I literally had to run to get back to the camper to minimize the bites. If you are susceptible to horse fly bites, be aware during the horse fly season. My husband did not get bit.
This area is very rural. Skowhegan, which is just over 20 minutes away, is the closest town, and has a few restaurants and a nice farmers market. There are many hiking and atv trails in the general area. I would recommend this spot for a weekend in the area, or passing through for the night.

We loved our stay at the blueberry fields! This is private land that the owner rents to campers. We stayed in campsite 2, where the land is open and flat, and there was plenty of room for our rv. There are 4 total campsites, and each offers a slightly different view and sense of privacy. The owner met us when we arrived. Dogs are allowed. It is dry camping, with no hookups, and generators are not allowed. The owner had a picnic table set up with flower boxes in it, and there was a nice fire ring. They will sell you wood if you need it. There was one other camper at site 1, and we could also see the owners house, but both were far enough away that we had a great sense of privacy. There was a shared porta potty available for use for all of the campsites. The land was quiet and peaceful - it is acres of blueberry fields, which create a special sense of being in nature. The site we were at had a nice tree, which framed the site. The owner was very responsive to questions we had, and responded quickly. The area was very quiet - at night we only heard the crickets and the wind.
You are close to Castine, Ellsworth, Blue Hill, Deer Isle and Stonington. There are numerous hiking trails in the area that can be found on All Trails, as well as easy places to kayak from, the closest of which are the Brooksville Town Landing, or Bucks Harbor public boat launch.

Camden Hills State park is centrally located, just at the edge of downtown Camden. It provides a great home base for hiking, biking, kayaking and exploring the Camden/Rockland area.
The park has around 100 sites that are categorized by size, and allows rvs and tents. There are no tent specific sites, and a tent camper could choose a large rv site. Each site has a picnic table and fireplace. Most spots are wooded, but there are 8 non wooded, open grassy sites at the front of the park, which have little shade. About half of the sites have water and electric. There is a bathhouse, multiple water stations and a dump station. The park sits on both sides of Rt. 1, and the bottom side is more of a day use area with a pavilion and walking trails and sits on the water. The bottom part does not, however, have true water access for swimming or kayaking. The closest place for this the Camden City Park, which is 2.5 miles away, and is a great place to launch a kayak. Rockport Marine Park at Rockport Harbor is another - it has easy kayak launch access and a very very small beach, which is mostly used for kids to splash around in the water. The top portion of the park, where all the campsites are, has direct access to Mount Megunticook, and Mount Battie, and offers easy to advanced hikes. It’s great to be able to do numerous hikes without having to leave the park.
We liked our site, 61, because it was open, grassy and level, had water and electric and was reservable. The park rangers were very friendly. There is a charge for Wi-Fi, and cell service is good enough.
There are many quality restaurants in the Camden, Rockland, Rockport area, as well as good bakeries and coffee shops. The Camden Farmers market is right downtown. You are less than 10 minutes from central Camden, and 20 minutes to Rockland.

General: One of three AMC (Appalachian Mountain Club) lodges in Maine’s 100-mile wilderness. This one is located on Long Pond and has 12 cabins plus a bunkhouse. One of the cabins is ADA-accessible. There is a lodge with a living room, dining hall, games, and small store.
Cabin Quality: Eleven of the cabins are very basic with varying amounts of sleeping arrangements. The ADA-accessible cabin has two bedrooms, electric outlets, and a bathroom with a shower.
Bath/Shower house: If you are staying in the bunkhouse or a non-ADA-accessible cabin, the bathrooms and showers are in the main lodge. There is also a sauna.
Activities/Amenities: Three meals per day are included. A hearty breakfast and dinner plus a bag lunch. Dietary restrictions are honored. When there is a small group of guests, meals are served family style; for larger groups, they are served buffet style. Rowboats, kayaks, and paddle boards are available at no additional charge, but the wind was too strong for us to get on the water when we were there. In the winter months, snowshoes are available. You can also cross-country ski from but need to bring your own skis. The hikes are awesome! I hiked the Third Mountain Trail directly from the lodge. Signage was excellent. I also hiked the Gulf Hagas Trail, but this requires a drive to get to either of the two trailheads. Don't even try for cell service!
Note that this lodge and cabins are accessible by an approximately 20-mile dirt road from the west and 15 miles from the east. Your fee includes a hefty parking/road use fee. The staff was very present and provided excellent service during our two-night stay.
RangerI really like that the campground has easy access to the hiking trails. Clean bathroom facilities and the free showers were nice and hot. Unfortunately, you can hear quite a bit of road noise.

The fact that we had water access from our campsite makes this a 5-star experience for me. Sites were private enough and showers were available, although the "comfort station" is about a mile walk away from the campsites. The electrical outlets didn't work in any of the bathrooms, either, so bringing a blowdryer was useless. But that's just a minor inconvenience--everything else was great.

I was nervous at first when I pulled up in a camper van--the "campground" was very much geared towards seasonal campers in large RVs. However, I was able to grab one of just a couple open spots on a Thursday afternoon. The staff (and residents) were so friendly and helpful. There were restrooms with coin-op showers and also a laundry room. Knocked off one star for the lack of privacy between sites and for the price ($70+ for essentially a parking spot with water/electricity is a bit much imo--at least make the showers free! lol)

Great spot is you don't mind dry camping. Amazing views of the surrounding mountains. There are two sites and plenty of space between them. When I went (labor day weekend) there was a porta-potty about 1.5 miles down the road. Plenty of trail heads nearby. About 30 mins to downtown Greenville.

My large family and I spent a week here. First, the campground is easy to find and making reservations is a snap! The owners are two of the greatest people I’ve met. They are more than friendly and accommodating. They work hard keeping the entire property neat including the bathhouse. Honestly, it’s the cleanest bathroom/shower house I’ve seen. There is a playground for kids and plenty of room at each site for them to play. My family and I agree, this place is incredible and you would be foolish to go elsewhere.

I recently stayed at the Tiny Cabins of Maine with my family for two nights, opting for their tent camping site. From the moment we arrived, the host's warm welcome made us feel right at home. Despite some distant road noise at night, the overall ambiance was serene and beautiful. The tent camping amenities, including the pop-up toilet and sturdy wooden platform, were thoughtfully provided. The fire pit and picnic table were perfect for evening gatherings, and the hammock added an extra touch of relaxation. We enjoyed the pub's games and even tried our hand at axe throwing. Kayaking in the pond was a highlight, thanks to the convenient dock. While the trails required attention to follow, the directional signs helped. Overall, I highly recommend Tiny Cabins of Maine for a memorable small family retreat, and we're already looking forward to returning in the future.

Spent a night at Piscataquis Point and had a great time! This was a very quiet and peaceful place but easily accessible from multiple directions and only like 20 mins from I-95. This spacious area has all the amenities covered allowing you to unplug and unwind like you’re in the middle of nowhere, the handcrafted touches from the outhouse to the fire pit add a unique, welcoming and comfortable feel. Sitting next to a warm, crackling fire listening to the sound of the river was truly the cherry on top and made for a very relaxing evening. This spot is somewhat of a hidden gem, clean and well up kept, this is the type of place that you’ll want to revisit again and again.
GuideCamden Hills state park is in a great spot, close to town and has a waterfront access. If you have a bigger rv you’ll want to stay in the field sites in the front of the park. The higher you go the better for tenting it is as it gets more forested.

We have loved Katahdin Iron Works for a long time, it really is how camping should be. No hookups/power/water. Bring everything in and bring everything back out with you. There are outhouses near the pleasant river sites. Last time we were up there the rule was no units over 44' total with truck and camper. These sites really are best for tents or very small campers.

LegendNice state campground with tons of hiking trails right from the campground. We stayed in a non-hookup site for $38/night- very expensive but we wanted to stay in the area and enjoy the hiking trails. Most sites don’t have enough sun for solar, and those that do, are FHU sites. Go figure. We were in site #65, recommended to us by the ranger as having the most sun for our panels. 65 was nice because it was set apart from other sites, and kind of enclosed so it was nice for the dogs. But it’s in direct view of the dump station so if that bothers you don’t pick this site!
The drive up Mt Battie Rd was worth it for the views at the top. RVs are ok to drive on this road, and there’s RV parking at the top.
Showers are free, hot, and good pressure, but they are the creepiest campground showers, rusty and dark. Dump station and potable water are available.
There’s a little free library book exchange at the ranger station at the entrance. Verizon service was usable but very weak, ATT was better, and fine with the weboost. The campground offers wifi at $3 per day per connection, but we didn’t use it.
GuideMoose Creek RV Resort is in a great location in Greenville, close to town and to ATV trails. A good amount of ATV parking across the street.
The amenities are all brand new and beautiful, including the pool side bar. The sides are spacey and range from field sites to wooded more private sites.

I am new to pulling a small camper, and staff was great helping me secure a site that was easy for me to back into, and beautiful. Staff and other campers answered some basic questions graciously. The grounds are well kept and the facilities were clean and inviting. The shop was amazingly well stocked.

The space is gorgeous, right next to a pond. Important to know though, there are several campsites. It's unclear how many campers could be there on any given night but it could be many. The sites are not marked at all and there did not seem to be a way to check in (it was first come first serve for us). We were joined by two other groups who camped close by, so not great for a private experience like we expected but it was still a lovely time nonetheless.
LegendWe stayed in site # 31. It was a nice sized site and very shaded. We had water & electric and there is a dump station onsite. The had a problem with the water so we filled up at the Camden Fire station which was close to the campground. You can pay a few extra dollars for WI-FI it's worth it. The sites are not level yet in the hills they usually aren't. There is a section of campsites that are along the side of the office that have no shade. If you like sun those sites are for you.
The auto road was closed so we didn't get up to see Mount Battie. You could hike it yet my husband couldn't hike due to health issues. The day use area is across the street from the campground. It has some hiking trails and a nice place to just hang out.
The town of Camden is quaint and has shops and good places to eat. Traffic is bad yet worth it. If you like Thai food Long Grain is so good. You need a reservation or you won't get in. They were so busy they even quit taking to go orders. Some of the best Thai food I've ever had.
We drove to Searsport and went to a antique/nautical place to buy some lobster pot buoys nice little shop. We stopped at McLaughlins on the way back and had some dinner. It was ok. Lots of people said it was good yet pricey and just ok.
We found a great Mobil RV guy Chris Burbelo (207) 322-4526. We had issues several places we stayed and he came out & fixed it all. He fixed our slideout, a leveler, a window and the fridge. We went 2 months with our slide stuck in. He made our trip. Highly recommend him.
ScoutCamden Hills wouldn't be our first choice, but we were returning to Maine to retrieve our trailer after some truck trouble, and wanted something close to where we left the trailer. Sites were pretty picked out by the time I made plans. so I chose a "Medium" site and hoped for the best.
It was tricky getting our 20' trailer into site 13. I'm not the best trailer driver (long truck, short trailer) but I do get lucky from time to time. I backed the trailer in between the trees as a neighbor laughed, trying to avoid the culvert for the stream which would have been a disaster. The truck/trailer wouldn't fit, so once the trailer was parked and leveled, I "parallel parked" the truck to get it off the road.
I had a Falcon Guide to the Maine trails, and that, along with the park map, allowed us to do a nice loop of Mts. Battie and Megunticook. In order to not block the site, we packed up and asked to park in the "overflow" lot near the park shops.
Some of the turns in the roads were a little rough for bigger trailers, but we did okay. The dump station is further in the campground, so don't try to leave and miss it. Wifi seemed pretty strong but we kept turning it off. I didn't ask about how much it costs.
Camden was a nice town; parking was problematic. The campground is about 2 miles from town, so not close enough to walk. It seemed like there were a lot of portapotties around, but that could be due to the Mt. Battie auto road traffic. We didn't try the bathrooms or showers.
Try to do your homework regarding sites, and anyone with a trailer should try to get a large one.
