Trailer camping

A pleasant surprise. Large sites. Many with views of the Snake River. You can hike and fish. The visitor center has a great historical exhibit about the Oregon Trail.

Rare gem

We only have one night here but what an amazing day. Huge assist to the perfect weather and lack of wildfire smoke, but the landscape of granite towers and ridges is a a nearly endless playground for all abled bodies to climb and explore. My kid brought her Bam Bam Flintstone and fit right in. Each…

Great Little Park

We followed our RV GPS right to Heyburn Riverside RV Park. We could see the campground (CG) as we got there and pulled right around by the camp host sites and were checked in. The very nice gentleman went over the CG’s few rules (main rule was go 5 MPH) and then escorted us to pull through site 15…

Cheap, cheap and cheap. Did I mention cheap?

Because we'd usually rather be boondocking, we're all about cheap when we actually have to pay for a campsite. And if we're actually going to have to pay, we want the whole shebang -- 50A electric, water and sewer hookups -- because why pay for what we otherwise get for free? The Twin Falls County…

Birds, bugs and beauty

Primitive camping requires hauling camping goods to site. No site parking for the tent people. Rv parking is good with plenty of room. Nice little boat launch with Great Lake to play in. Fishing was good and kids loved the swimming.

Beautiful and helpful

I spent 2 days/nights in a 27’ camper. My original site was to small even though it was rated to fit my camper. The camp host came over and switched me without being asked and was very helpful. The landscape is beautiful and the park is large. There is no swimming in the river which was a…

New owners & name. Worn out.

A lot of trees are dead or gone. The office person has never heard of The Dyrt app, so no discount. 30 amp electric & water for 39 a night. Think it's on it's way down. Hope they prove me wrong. Oh! It is nestled between the freeway & the railroad tracks. Quaint.

On the river

Spent 2 nights here when they reopened for the season. Gravel roads/sites, FHU, pull-thrus & back-ins. No shade. Next to greenway along Snake river, great for walking & views. Playground. Near train tracks but few trains & rarely heard a horn.

Spectacular views

Absolutely beautiful views of the Snake river. Very friendly and helpful staff member and a history rich visitor center. Miles of hiking paths. The upper loop does have some traffic noise from the nearby highway but fantastic views the lower loop is quieter and some sites have a clear view of the…

Not my cup of tea!

The park is situated between homes and the campsites are small! We could not put two tents and an awning on our campsite! The campsites are not cohesive with elderly or handicapped due to the terrain! You have to drive your kayaks, canoes etc. quite a ways to launch! Plus... great paved bike trail…

Beautiful view, smells like cows

Incredible river views. Secluded in Muskrat Bend section. Lots of birds. Pit toilet clean and well stocked, even at the end of the holiday weekend. Easy access from the interstate. Smelled like cow pasture.

Excellent Sunsets

I visited City of Rocks last year for a day trip and knew I had to go back to camp this year! It’s an awesome overnight stop if you’re on a road trip or a great little weekend trip if you’re nearby. We didn’t do any long hikes and the hiking opportunities leave a little bit to be desired but the…

Serene and peaceful

This is my favorite place on the planet. The camp facilities are fairly primitive but there are pit/vault toilets available. I can not express how gorgeous the landscape is or how bright the stars are at night. Our campspot was #22. Not a ton of shade, but excellent views. You have to have cash…

A beautiful surprise in the desert!

Caution:  Save yourself some time, dust and frustration and enter Smoky Mountain Campground into your GPS and not Castle Rock State Park like we did.  Haha.

We were so surprised when we got to this campground. Private sites.   Clean.  Paved,  not gravel.  Not the most level we’ve been in but…
