Whether you are coming to Georgia for work, play, vacation or to live, Riverside Estates RV Park has many advantages. It is friendly, safe, and clean. You can select a 30 or 50 amp site. There are 3 sections to choose from. A-Section is near the street for easy access to the freeway, B-Section runs beside the Yellow River, and C-Section is further back and very quiet. You can select a sunny site or a shaded one from the 100 plus sites available.

The Park is close to almost anything you could desire for shopping, eating, exercising, clubbing, purchasing building and electrical supplies, and recreating on lakes and rivers. I-20 West offers the quickest access to Atlanta as compared to all the other freeways, which is very important, considering the traffic in the area.

    Al Sihah Shrine Park

    Quiet, Clean, Well Maintained

This is the nicest place to stay in the Macon area. I first checked out Safe Haven, and it was not a nice place. This place is run by the Shriners and apparently proceeds from the park go to support the children’s hospital. The campground area is huge with different site areas– short term, long term, and long-long term. I stayed one night in the short term area. There is a pond and a large event center with a commercial kitchen. Oddly, there are no bathrooms that I could find in the building. There are no bathrooms or showers anywhere in the park. It was designed for self-contained units. There are concrete pads with full hookups at each of the short terms sites but they are way too close together. I gave it a four but debated about a three because of site spacing and the lack of bathrooms/showers.

    Atlanta South RV Resort

THIS IS A BLACK EYE TO GEORGIA! AVOID!!

My husband and I called the Atlanta South KOA campground to make reservations for the night on October 16, 2020, as we were traveling across country to sell one of our homes. We felt safer driving, rather than flying, due to the Corona Virus pandemic. We made 2 round trips back and forth, from Florida to Oregon to accomplish this. We told the man at the desk, who took our reservation, we had a 22’campervan and we would be in about 7:30 PM. We told him it was a Pacifica, and when asked about what class it was I told him I had no idea. He apparently wrote down that it was class b, as that is what appeared on our receipt. We told him we had no sewer hookup and would prefer to be close to the bathrooms, and if they happen to have a back in site we would prefer that also. We paid the$45 and completed the reservation. Our van is a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica with the conversion in it to create the campervan as stated here: https://www.contravans.com/chrysler-pacifica-details We arrived on time and just wanted to get right to sleep, to begin the last day of driving in the morning. At 11:30 PM we were awoken by the manager and one other man beating on the window saying“we lied” and need to be out immediately. My husband calmly asked him what he meant. He said we weren’t in a campervan and need to leave now. The manager was holding a 20” metal Maglight flashlight that he was pounding in his hand to intimidate us. We felt he was ready for a George Floyd incident, although we are white. I went out of the van and asked him how we had lied. He said there is a campervan named the Pacifica also and ours was not a campervan. I have since looked this up and the Pacifica RV is a HUGE motorhome. I never implied to be anything close to that Pacifica. He said a campervan needed a toilet attached to the floor, although the camper right beside us was a mini 4’ high trailer and didn’t have one. The conversation escalated because we were dumbfounded this was happening and very afraid of what he was forcing us to do. We are senior citizens and peacefully traveling across country to get business done and he was telling us to leave after driving 12 hours that day. He said we were to go stay in a Walmart in Atlanta, Georgia, in the middle of the night. He was totally unreasonable, rude and threatening. He ended up calling the police to have us escorted out, but we chose to leave before they arrived, but saw three police cars drive by as we were leaving. We have never experienced anything like the treatment we received at the Mcdonough, GA RV park, and we have used KOA campgrounds since 1977. We felt in extreme danger being expelled in that part of town in the middle of the night without enough sleep, and if we would have had an incident of any kind we would have sued both Altanta Sound RV Resort and the Good Sam Campgrounds for endangering us, with a high probability of success. We did not tell any lies, but apparently he presumed something and decided we needed to pay for it. These two were like thugs and I will be placing this review on every venue I can find to get it into. We have read other reviews about the behavior of these tyrants and it is similar to what we experienced. He even said he has control over the reviews so he didn’t care about anything we had to say. The most aggressive one had long white hair, and the other one had short white hair, just for some degree of identification.

    Long term

Most people in here are long term week+, there are 4 areas, and one is a flood zone. They are still upgrading the park slowly but they are. The park is very kid friendly, there is a dog pen area, there are dog waste bag stations. There is a laundry room, bathhouse, and every site has water and sewer hook up. It is gated and there is a fob for everything for safety. It is a great place the manager here is awesome. Been here over a year now.

    Beautiful Lake and Friendly People

Located on Lake Oconee, North Shore Landing is a KOA/TRA campground. There is a dock to fish from, and a boat launch if you want to go out. There's some very large catfish in the lake, 30+ lbs. There's also bass, blue gill and crappie. The campground is per friendly, full hook-up, with WiFi (pay for premium). There is a pool, clubhouse and 24 hour laundry that's $3 per load, w&d. There's a dog park, basketball and cornhole. Propane fill and dump station.

    Decent Stay over

Decent park, mostly full-timers in here. The pull through full hook up sites are small but adequate but do not give much room for parking your tow rig. Our spot had an elevated sewer hook up which made dumping the tanks a challenge.

    Exciting progress underway

Stumbled upon this after a relatively close campground was unhelpful for long term. This is a fresh park, many upgrades coming this year. The park has done great at speration of in progress and current campsites to avoid noise and congestion. The 2 laundrys are clean and feature a shower house-full bath, the manager and receptionist are friendly and responsive to any questions you may have. Great local businesses in Sandersville and close to plenty of fishing opportunities and scenic drives.

Convenient rest stop or long term stay

This park is located  just south of Atlanta an d is a great place to overnight on your way to a destination, or for more long term stay for out of town workers. Lots of shopping and good restaurants nearby

Great staff,  grounds very and clean neatly kept.  A little snug getting in and out with a big rig, but absolutely doable.

A great place to pull off of I75 and get out of the traffic . Sleep in and then take off when traffic is not so heavy!!

    I Live Nearby

A few years ago, I visited this location because I considered living long term in an RV. The location is in a good spot right off the free way. It is clean. Staff at the front desk was nice and allowed me to go in to see how I liked it. I saw a few people outside and asked for their opinion of the location and their lifestyle and they all said that they loved it there and had been at that location for a while.

Fast forward to now. I called to ask if Skoolie’s were allowed on the property and the nice lady that answered the phone said that the owner does not allow them.

If you have an RV, you will be fine. I’ve lived in Henry County for over 15 years, not too far from this campground. This area is not known for crime and is located close to a main shopping center.

A nit, but you know it going in if you use Dyrt, but no full hookups. However, proper planning results in long water views, clean, mostly level sites. Site 25 is ~-2 degrees to rear from Level. Friendly staff with clean dispersed sites. Great views!!!

    Road noise

We got very little sleep because the road noise was so loud with many large trucks passing by all night long. (Yet a good thing for the economy!) We were given a spot close to the front of the campground, so perhaps the ones in the back are better. In addition, there was a propane leak somewhere near the office that we could smell inside our camper with the hatch open.

On the positive side, the bathroom was renewly renovated and spotless. The grounds  looked maintained. The office staff member we called while we were on the road couldn't have been more helpful and efficient. The campground appeared to be full despite the noise factor. The campers were all very quiet and many looked like they are long term campers, so they're apparently accustomed to the noise and can ignore it.

    Another great stay!

Due to the ongoing apocalypse, we have had plenty of time to camp lately! We have stayed here, in the park, multiple times over the last month.

As always, the park is clean and well-maintained. Although most of the facilities are closed right now, the park staff and volunteers were constantly working to ensure everything is clean and working properly.

Both of the camp hosts, Pam and Sue, were constantly riding around checking on guests and were more than helpful if you needed them.

On this particular visit, we stayed on site # 2 (full hook up) and there was plenty of room to stretch out! We stayed in our 26’ travel trailer.

We were able to walk off of the back of our site and onto the trail system, which is perfect because we are avid hikers.

Thanks for another great stay! We will be back!

    NICE UNSUSPECTING CAMPGROUND

We happened onto this campground while traveling and was a bit apprehensive at first due to the surrounding area did not look appealing but we were tired. This was a great little campground!! Not to mention clean!! They were updating the campground and adding more sites and it appeared all of the sites were full hook-ups. The bathhouse is small but they do have a dog wash station outside the bath house complete with a tub, a ramp and hot and cold water. We did not get to explore much because we got there late but while walking the dogs we noticed a playground, in ground pool, club house and the office has a few necessities--the staff was fabulous!

    North Shore Landing

    Camground is now a KOA

On my way back from Florida to the NC mountains, I spent a night at the KOA campground on Lake Oconee in Greensboro, GA. I was in a full hook-up pull-through site#44. As you can see from the photos, the campground is right on the lake and has many campsites. The campground staff was accommodating during check-in and when getting to my site. However, the campground itself is pretty worn. Roads are poor. Decking at sites needs repair. At $108.90, for one night, there is little reinvestment in the campground grounds and facilities. The local area is proliferating with many upscale homes and businesses. I expected a more updated set of facilities. Site#44 has a lake view, which is nice, but it is one of 3 sites butted up end to end on the side of the road, with the site to my left currently unusable with some repair work going on. The site has a sizeable two-tier deck, grill, and firepit, but it had not been cleaned off in some time, with chairs and tree debris strewn around. I would skip this campground if I were back in the area.

Definitely an RV park, not resort. No frills and packed tighter than sardines, but easy and convenient for a one night stay on the way to somewhere else. The RV park equivalent to a Red Roof Inn. Donna in the office is delightful. Rates are decent.

This is a KOA Journey and a good stop

The RV sites are nice with limestone pads. I was able to park my 45 ft. Motorhome and Jeep toad without unhooking. Full hookup are adequate with nice bath houses. Wifi was about 40% until the park filled up then nothing. Cable tv reception screen quality was poor. Without cement pads, poor cable and wifi, I could not give a higher rating. If you don’t need cable or wifi, this is a great park.

No Skoolie’s allowed but this is a nice RV park for those with RV’s. I live close to this spot and it’s located in a great part of town. There’s great shopping centers and the area is growing. I asked to tour the grounds and the residents I spoke to had nothing but good things to say. Hopefully one day, they will allow Skoolie’s to stay on the property.

    They Kicked Us Out!

We were KICKED OUT! Read full story below: We knew we were in trouble as we drove through the grounds. For lack of a better word, this place was a dump, & we were searching for the silver lining, but it did not come. Our “long term site” was bordering the Frontage Rd. of hectic I-75, & so loud I couldn’t even think. It was separated from the busy road by a mere 2-ft-tall guardrail. Unlevel site with potholes, & a neighbor with 4 vehicles allowed on their site. When I initially asked to change sites, the “escort” said “Nothing else. You can stay here, or get a refund.” So rude! (And they NEVER had any intention of refunding us.) This site was no place for a child to live, so I went to negotiate at office. Noise & safety were a huge concern! They agreed to switch us to a “better nightly rate site.” Our rate went from $530/mo. up to $1200/mo., but we were paying more for our child’s wellbeing, as we were now in a bind. This was great for them, as they more than doubled their earnings off of us for the next 1-3 months. New site was better, but by no means a great place for our child to live. It had dilapidated campers everywhere, residents not held to any standard of care of their sites, unlevel site with drop-off, broken playground equipment wrapped in caution tape, dirty/outdated restrooms, multiple (2-4) vehicles parked at most sites, rundown facilities & “amenities,” & safety was a clear issue. The “pond” was essentially a huge ditch filled with water. There was nearly a dog fight between residents. During setup, I received a call from the office that “unfortunately” they had decided to charge us for both the monthly site AND the nightly site. It seemed very unkind, dishonest, unscrupulous, & greedy! In the office, they told me they wanted to charge us $293 for all the days since we made a reservation on 8/25/20, even though they knew we would not be arriving & checking-in until 9/10/20... a “holding fee.” All that on top of the $1200 we were about to pay for the next month. We said NO, & instead committed to only 2 nights, & unhappily agreed to pay the “holding fee.” This should have totaled $380. Next thing I know, the manager hands me a receipt for $829! THE LAST STRAW! She now wanted us to pay for all “the nights held” at the nightly rate instead of monthly, a $300 markup! I protested! If they wanted to charge us for “holding a spot,” then fine, charge us the $293 plus 2 additional nights = $380, which was what we agreed to initially, until she began changing her tune. At that point in the heated conversation, the manager said she was terminating our stay, but would still be charging us $530 (for nothing). We were there for a total of 2.25 hrs, & never fully set up at either site. She kicked us out with TODDLER in tow at 8:30 PM. HEARTLESS! In all honesty, this place is a “glorified trailer park,” & so dumpy. It’s right off the interstate, so safety, peace, & quiet are not an option. The residents there did not inspire peace of mind either. ThE FORSYTH KOA has a poor moral compass & atrocious business practices! Will be reporting to BBB. Please, don’t stay here!

4 County RV Park & Campground

    Excellent in every way.

We stayed here for five nights and boy do I wish we had planned to stay longer! Spacious sites, new and super clean facilities including bathrooms, showers and laundry… and the park sits on a man-made lake. There are also campfire rings and picnic tables. As far as“settings” go, 4 County RV Park is one of the most idyllic and peaceful we’ve encountered in our one year on the road. WiFi, electric, water, sewer, all were top notch. We met some very nice people here as well and the owners, Rebecca and Troy, could not have been nicer. It is obvious they take great pride in their property and they really care that everyone has a good stay. We were 30 minutes from Macon so it was easy to hop on Hwy 16 to get there and enjoy what Macon has to offer. We would come back to 4 County in a heartbeat and hope to one day.

    Safe Haven RV Park

    Quaint and Clean

We were very pleased with our overnight stay! Spacious pull-through sites with 50 / 30 / 20 amp service, with new upgraded electrical. Water and sewer. Our drive took longer than we expected, and the friendly proprietor drove out at 11:15 PM to meet us at the gate, guide us to our site, and ensure we were able to see how everything worked. I was so impressed with his kindness that late at night. They also have a nice, clean bath house with two full bathrooms (shower, toilet, sink). The spacious shower had good hot water and great water pressure. And several coin laundry machines which we did not use. There appears to be a picnic table every 2 sites. We didn’t get out and explore much, as we were just stopping overnight.

Getting there: I highly recommend following the directions from their website (especially at night) as it provides some landmarks that are helpful. We are 42’ towing an SUV, and the last right hand turn to get onto their road was a little tight, but we made it. You drive behind some industrial looking areas, but the RV park itself feels very safe and secluded.

    Dames Ferry

    Excellent lake side camping

With under 30 RV spots with 30/50amp, and water hookups. This State Park Campground was awesome. 90% of the spots are right on the beautiful crystal clear lake. We launched our kayaks and swam from our sight so easy and convenient. Quite, relaxing and secluded the lake is situated with in the forest with no homes near or around the water we visited in the summer and can’t wait to go back in the fall when the leaves start to change. Clean and well maintained.

    Wiley Roost RV Park

    Camping under Old Oak Trees

Ashley here with The Dyrt. We're so happy to have this campground on our platform. With level sites, plenty of trees, and 30 or 50 amp hook-ups, this is a great place to get away from it all. Enjoy your food outside at the picnic table and roast some marshmallows in the community fire-pit. Check them out and leave them some love!
