    Hamburg State Park Campground

Nice quiet and in the middle of nowhere

We had been planning on staying at Hamburg for years and finally did. Great stay and a very quiet area. The large mill pond also known as Hamburg lake is great for canoeing of fishing. Many of the sites back onto the lake. Sites are level and the one we were in was only 30A power but had 2 30A plugs and breakers. Using the right adapter and we had more than the 50A to make everything happy. We had our canoe pulled up right behind the site and was able to paddle the whole pond in a couple hours. The Mill tour is great when they have it and up until covid the mill was a working one. We stayed Memorial day weekend 2025

    Old Salem Park Campground

    NO ANTS

This is a very nice campgrounds the sites are well spaced an fairly level. My site was so level I didn't need leveling blocks.  I like having pea gravel in stead of dirt, it's so much cleaned after it rains. Georgia Power has gone to great lengths to get rid of the ants. We went prepared for a problem and there was no problem at our site. I talked with our neighbors and none of them had problems either. The bath house and the grounds were well maintained. Staff was friendly and out and about most of the day. The dump station has been upgraded and 2 new dump stations have been added for a total of 3 stations. I don't know if Star link or Satellite TV will work because of the tree cover, but my T-Mobile home internet worked great. Old Salem is on our list of campgrounds to return to. I hope your stay is as enjoyable as ours was.

    James Dykes Memorial Park Campsite

Great spot to catch some Zzz

Solid, well lit camp grounds. You could easily fit a dozen or more cars/tents here. I was alone most of the night. Would recommend if you're looking for a quiet place to camp/fish.

    Gold Lot Overnight Truck Parking

    Premier secure parking!

This was a fantastic place to park on I-75. It is a fenced and gated lot just off the interstate exit. It is well lit, safe and has easy access through a walking gate to the QT next door. Wide parking spots and free WI-FI. Even has a gazebo for picnics. Check this spot out! Easy to pay at the gate.

    Claystone Park Campground

    Very nice campground

The campground is very nice. The sites are shaded and very clean. It is easily accessible and easy to get around in. The swimming beach is okay. It is a sand beach which is clean and easy to access the water, but I would not necessarily say the water is very clean. It is definitely better than many of the other lakes we have seen in Georgia, though! I would recommend staying here if you need a spot in central Georgia

    Sanwar RV Resort

Most Amazing Stay at Excellent Resort

We stayed 5 nights here this past week and it was hard to go. The people in charge are just excellent and polite. The resort is immaculate and set up so very nicely. This is so good for families especially. The tavern, bingo, Saturday’s live music were all so good and fun. I even got my favorite drink - a lemon drop.

The pools are WONDERFUL and we , even as old, LOVED the lazy river.

I cannot say enough good about this place. Try it out.

    James Dykes Memorial Park Campsite

Free - far off main highway.

Given four stars cause at least it was free. I was actually the only camper there on a Monday night. It’s cool by the river if you like fishing. Bugs of course. Seems like a lot of locals would just drive down there and back. I did see some kids swimming right before I left. There’s a nice pavilion if you’re with the group. I only complain is it’s further off the main highway than I would’ve anticipated. But that’s on me!
