    River Junction - Lake Seminole

    Awesome surprise!

What an awesome surprise! COE campground on a dead end road (ends at the boat ramp) with water and power. Dump is just up the road on your way out of the park and super easy to get to. Level sites, nicely spaced and mostly shaded. I bet it’s even more beautiful in the spring and fall. Picnic table, fire pit, grill and a fish station at all sites. Walking distance to boat ramp and lake access. Pet friendly. Road in was paved and well maintained. First come first served and although there is a camp host on site there is no way to call to check availability. $20/night ($10/night senior citizen or Access Pass).

    Bainbridge Riverview Campground Bainbridge Georgia

Nestled along the Flint River with canopy of Live Oaks, peaceful trails ++

Disclaimer: we are current Camp Hosts at this city-owned campground in the Earle May Boat Basin Park. The city has totally redone this small, quiet campground and reopened it in Spring 2024.

There are 12 sites, 1 is reserved for Camp Hosts who are onsite 24/7. Sites are gravel, loop road is paved. 3 of the 11 available sites are wide back ins, the rest are very long pull through style. Most sites are nestled among the grove of live oak trees and pines that canopy the peaceful setting along the Flint River. All sites have electric(50/30/20/15) and water. There is an easy, level dump station for camping guest use only. The registered camping guests bath house is an older style but has also seen some upgrades.

A 2 mile riverfront paved walking trail takes you from the campground entrance into the historic downtown center filled with restaurants, breweries, boutiques, antique shops and cafes. Another nature trail loop at the CG entry has options for 3 to 5+ miles through dense old growth forest or around the boat basin itself.. All trails are basically flat and paved.

The campground also sits within the 300 acres Earle May Boat Basin, ideal for fishing enthusiasts. There is a small playscape in the campground and another laeger playgeound in the park which is walkable from the campground. Bainbridge is known as the Bass Fishing Capitol of Georgia! Each campsite also has a long picnic table, standing BBq grill and fire ring. Sites are wide. Sites 7, 8 and 12 are best for Starlink users as they have more open sky. Advance reservations are suggested and all reservations must be done BEFORE entering campground. It is no longer first come first served and reservation can ONLY be done online. Camp hosts do not have ability to make or change reservations or accept payment. Bainbridge has many festivals, concerts and special events all year long. Major big box stores, hardware stores, gas stations and grocery stores are within 2-3 miles of the campground. Rates in 2025 are $35 per night, currently no discounts offered. Max say length is 2 weeks. Campground is big rig friendly but loop road is narrow in some places so go slow!

We didn’t use any facilities so have no comment on those.

    Three Rivers State Park Campground

    A Great Florida State Park

Small, well maintained park and sites, with 30/50 amp and water hook ups. A pleasant surprise when we arrived, after miles of rural driving! GPS took us the correct way, but seemed we were lost! Staff greeted us at entrance, gave us a map and explained how to get to our site. It was raining, and our site was back-in and downhill, mostly level with gravel, a picnic table, has a fire-ring with grill grate. Bathhouse is clean and impressed how the trash area and dump station were placed away from campers. The dock/pier, and boat ramp, are at the back part of the campground, The amenities are nice and there is outdoor cleaning sink behind the bathhouse, sitting area overlooking the river, the fish cleaning station, fire pit area, trails, and canoe/kayak drying area. 3 concrete sites, as well as tent sites. Lots of spacing between most of the sites, some are waterfront. Wildlife is plentiful and the trails are a great way to enjoy it all! We will come back! And it’s only $20 a night!

    Tallahassee RV Park

    Very Nice RV Park

We stayed nine days in Campsite 39, a gravel pull through with more than enough room for our 27' truck camper and jeep tow vehicle. We used 30 amp power and it was steady. The power, sewer and water connections were conveniently located. We were impressed by the cleanliness of this RV park; there are many pine trees and the staff worked hard to keep the sites and roads neat and raked. The laundry is reasonable at$2 wash and$1.50 dry and all the machines were clean and worked properly. We did not use the pool, restrooms or showers but they were all clean and in good condition. A Walmart Supercenter, Publix Market, Costco and Bass Pro are 4 miles away. Wakulla Springs State Park is 23 miles away and worth a visit. We enjoyed our time here and will stay again.

Guide to Cairo

RV camping near Cairo, Georgia offers access to both Georgia and Florida outdoor experiences, with several campgrounds positioned along scenic water features including creeks and rivers. The area maintains mild winter temperatures with lows rarely dropping below 40°F, making it suitable for year-round camping. Most parks in the region feature level sites with varying degrees of shade from native pine trees.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: Cross Creek Campground features a small pond and two-mile hiking path for outdoor recreation. A camper notes, "There is a nice open area that families were enjoying when we arrived."

Kayaking on rivers: Ed and Bernices Fish Camp provides direct river access for water activities. "We kayaked and loved and I mean absolutely love being on this river. Did some swimming and fishing off the side. Caught some huge brim, they were delicious," shares a visitor.

Wildlife viewing: Observe local birds and wildlife around natural water features. At Tallahassee RV Park, campers enjoy "tall trees and spacious spaces" with opportunities to spot native Florida wildlife in the wooded setting.

What campers like

Covered riverside spaces: Ed and Bernices Fish Camp provides pavilions overlooking the Ochlockonee River. One camper appreciated "having our own pavilion with picnic table on the river. Just a cool place. Could not keep the kids from playing by the water they scooped up minnows and found crawdads."

Proximity to town: Big Oak RV Park offers convenience to urban amenities. "The location was right outside town which was perfect. The bathrooms and shower were spotless and cleaned every day," notes one reviewer.

Clean facilities: Campground maintenance receives positive comments from visitors. At Creekside RV Park, campers enjoy "big sites, big pool, baby pool, kid pool with dump bucket and Lazy River. Playground. Outside bar & Grill. Lot to do. Clean."

What you should know

Price variations: Nightly rates range from $30-$90 depending on location and season. At Tallahassee RV Park, one visitor noted, "Was about double the nightly rate ($90) due to a FSU football game over the weekend but the place was only about 25% of capacity. Maybe because of crazy mark up policy."

Limited amenities at some parks: Not all parks offer full facilities. Butterbean Acres RV Park provides trash service and sewer hookups but doesn't have shower facilities or restrooms.

Fire restrictions: Fire regulations vary between parks. Eastern Pines RV Park has 59 RV sites with full hookups but prohibits fires on the premises.

Site conditions: Most parks feature gravel or dirt/grass sites with varying degrees of levelness. At Sugar Mill Plantation RV Park, one camper described the sites as "dirt/grass, FHU, 50 amp, relatively level. Hookups we're in acceptable shape."

Tips for camping with families

Water recreation options: Consider parks with swimming features for hot days. Creekside RV Park offers "Lazy river, swimming pool, water park, tiki bar, lake, restaurant, golf cart rentals, cabins, activities, Gym and store!"

Nature exploration for kids: Several parks offer creek or river access where children can safely explore. At Ed and Bernices Fish Camp, one family mentioned, "Good ole fashion fun. Could not keep the kids from playing by the water they scooped up minnows and found crawdads."

Protected play spaces: Look for campgrounds with designated recreation areas. Albany RV Resort features "a lovely duck pond on the property" where children can observe wildlife safely.

Tips from RVers

Site selection for big rigs: When traveling with larger RVs, confirm site dimensions before booking. At Bainbridge Flint River, "Site was big, level, and pull through with full hookups," according to one RV camper.

Hookup placement: Water and electric hookup locations can vary significantly. One camper at Ed and Bernices Fish Camp found "the water spigot is 25 feet from the coach and the turn-on switch is an inch underground."

Seasonal considerations: For RV camping near Cairo, Georgia in fall, prepare for higher prices during football season at Florida State University. Even smaller parks may increase rates during game weekends.

Leveling requirements: Site grading varies across parks. At Cross Creek Campground, which opened December 2023, a visitor reported: "The site we stayed in was level left and right but had to lower the front end to level front to back."
