    Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

Welcome to Topsail Hill Preserve State Park Topsail Hill is named for its dunes, which rise like a ship's sails over soft sand beaches and the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Those same white quartz dunes are responsible for a rare coastal ecosystem — freshwater dune lakes — which teem with aquatic wildlife. Walkers will pass through old-growth pine forests, sandy scrubland, dunes and wetlands, where they may see some of the 13 imperiled species that find refuge here, like the Choctawhatchee beach mouse and otherworldly-looking pitcher plants. Topsail Hill offers three miles of pristine beaches and is a bird-watching and hiking paradise.

In 1937, our grandmother took her first trip to the panhandle of northern Florida and found pristine beauty in the crystal white beaches and the aqua blue waters. This unforgettable experience prompted her to take many more trips to South Walton with her family over the years. In 1968, our family's love for the area culminated with the purchase of this property, and we have been operating as a campground ever since.

South Walton has experienced a tremendous transformation over the decades, but our goal of sharing this area with our guests has never wavered. Whether you have been staying with us for years, or if you have never visited us before, we are excited for you to experience the same beauty that captivated our grandmother over 85 years ago!

      Great 2 day stop over.

Great State Park. Facilities are great. Not a park for a lot of large RVs. Cavern’s were great to tour, good walking trails. Lots to do around the county. This area is all about outdoors. If you are traveling and need a stop over, this is a great option.

      Reopened and very nice

Florida State Parks did a great job redoing this campground after Hurricane Michael in 2018. Brand new facilities, excellent camping pads, and good beach access. You can still see some of the hurricane damage which is a testament to the severity of Michael in the area.

      Glad we Changed

Had reservations for 2 nights at this location. Decided to go to the Florida Cavern State Park instead. Glad we changed. They are right next to a strip joint. Guess they left that out of the brochure on purpose.

      Decent Campground

Overall the campground is great. The only downside is that you cannot drive to the beach. You have to walk or bike the 2-mile round trip or wait on a handful of tram rides. The main sites are a little close, so there isn't as much isolation. The pool was nice, but was crowded frequently.

      On the brink of summer

This was our first visit to Topsail. We rented bicycles and enjoyed the paved paths and private beach over the dunes. Unfortunately the water was closed due to rip tides but we enjoyed lounging in the sun. I do wish the store on site had a larger selection and took Apple pay. All in all a wonderful experience.

Beautiful beach stay but could use some improvements

Pros: -Right on the water, 1 minute walk to the beach. We could see the water from our site A1 -quiet and remote area with fewer people than surrounding 30A areas -close to Cape San Blas and Port St Joe to explore -clean bathrooms and showers

      Cons:

      • our site was difficult to back into down a small hill and not very level.
      • there are large trees and they could do some branch trimming. Our rig is 32 feet and was rubbing on branches when trying to exit.

      Five-stars well-earned

My wife and I are frequent campers in NW Florida and Alabama.  Topsail is certainly one of our favorites.  Excellent access to the beach, hiking, biking (many miles), lakes, great campground.  One of the best!

We have stayed here several times. We love it! Little pool, dog park, beach close by, tons of biking, deer, turkeys, birds galore. Highly recommend the Donut Hole for breakfast, brunch or lunch! So good! Service was awesome!

      Remote and quaint

Somewhat isolated, but Saint Joe is not far away. Everything you need is pretty much on site. Great place for kayaking, surf fishing, and there’s a boat ramp right next-door. Beautiful scenery, and well almost always full, it’s not a large campground, and you have some privacy. 3 miles down. The road is a nice oyster bar. The camp office sells frozen bait. Verizon service is excellent.

One of, if not my favorite! Private spots. Beach, pool, and beer. Monday nights they had live music. Friendliest staff of the 50 places ive stayed this year. Love the beach trolley dude. Long walk to the beach, take an extra flashlight if u go after dark- natural beach, with critters!!

Fantastic host, beautiful farm and campground, bath and laundry a plus!

Daryl and Nancy were fantastic host, got a private tour of the farm in his 4 wheeler. Caught sight of 3 deer and multiple rabbits. The Cypress pond is gorgeous and the trails were a lot of fun to walk. Very close to Florida Caverns where we went and did a cave tour and swam in the spring.

Nice place on the lake, well maintained. We wanted to do laundry and try new kind of a campground. Overall positive, but expensive. Sites are really near each other, no privacy. Probably ok for one time. Will go back to the more simple campgrounds. Had Wi-Fi, slow 1-2mgb/s . Att reception is fast.

Old and run down. The staff are lazy

As far as the campground goes, the ground is nice and even with fire pits and trees. But the bathrooms and showers are dirty and gross. The staff is lazy and rude. The grounds are rundown. The slides look dirty and unsafe. Over it was over priced for the experience offered.
