Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Bonelli Bluffs

    Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

    Pechanga RV Resort

This Is A Resort With All Amenities

I spent a few nights using my Passport America discount at Pechanga RV Resort. I really liked it there. This is now one of my favorite RV resorts in California except for the showers. It is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that The park itself is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that is fenced in with gazebo, and picnic tables. First of all, it is part of the Casino with entertainment and restaurants. This casino reminds me of the Vegas casinos and now is under construction to make it a real Vegas Style Resort. It’s going to be finished sometimes in 2017.

The RV resort itself has a nice heated pool, Jacuzzi, ping pong table. They also have a golf club which could be important for some. One thing I hated is the showers. The RV resort shower has a timer set to 25 seconds and the showerhead is not able to stand upright. So you basically have to hold the shower in one hand and keep pressing the timer every 25 seconds. It’s December, it’s cold in the shower, especially because the water keeps shutting off. You end up standing soaking wet putting soap on yourself in the cold.

I wonder if the hotel rooms have timer on the showers as well. The person who came up with this idea should take showers in there each night. It pet-friendly resort, they also have an area for dogs. If you heading to the casino, they have a shuttle service 24/7 which picks ups from and drop-offs to and from your space. You have to call a number and they are there to pick you up in minutes.

About the WiFi! It’s the best WiFi ever in any parks I’ve so far visited! I wasn’t even close to the main building and had a great reception. I am able to use my Roku to watch Netflix and can use my laptop as well for work. I didn’t even need my Sprint or Verizon, but both work fine. Across the street, there is a 2-mile bike/walk trail. Using this and riding around the nice neighborhoods it was a fun way to get some exercise.

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

    Pineknot

Pineknot Campground, Big Bear Lake, Ca

A bit challenging to locate via Google Maps... Just go up (south) Summit Blvd, when you get to the parking lot of the ski resort, veer towards the left, and just past a concrete wall, you'll see the little Pineknot Campground sign attached to an aluminium pole. The campground is very cozy, countless tall pine trees, clean bathrooms, clean sites, water from taps, no hookups, and not for big rigs. The hosts are friendly, but strict! No generators from 8 pm to 8 am, a $3000 fine if your campfire is left unattended, and no rowdy obnoxious behavior is tolerated! We appreciated the rules, and thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful, quiet, deep in the woods getaway!!

Paradise By The Sea RV Resort

    Amazing RV Resort Near Beach

A nicely appointed RV resort in downtown Oceanside with an awesome staff. Pull-through and back-in, full hookup spots available. Cable, wi-fi, a clubhouse with TV and PlayStation for the kids, pool table, games to check out, and a small swimming pool and hot tub. There are also outdoor community areas with ping-pong, bean-bag toss, grills, and other activities.

The resort is only a 5- minute walk to the beach and not far from Oceanside restaurants and shops. While it’s a tad spendy, you really do get a lot for your money with a great near beach location.

What to do

Water activities at Lake Elsinore: Launch Pointe Recreation Destination and RV Park provides direct access to water recreation. "My family loves this place we were here before the remodeling and we are still faithful returners every year for the past 20+ years we absolutely love it here and the family fun is always amazing," notes a visitor to Launch Pointe Recreation Destination and RV Park.

Mini golf and recreation: Several campgrounds offer on-site activities beyond standard amenities. A visitor to Thousand Trails Wilderness Lakes RV Resort mentioned, "We enjoyed the mini golf (probably our favorite TT mini golf so far) but weren't too majorly impressed overall."

Explore historic districts: Camping provides convenient access to local cultural attractions. "We drove over to the Mission Inn (8 min drive) enjoyed lunch. Their is a pedestrian only shopping area with a Saturday farmer's market plus lots of restaurants," notes a camper at Rancho Jurupa RV Park.

What campers like

Security features: Gated access is common at campgrounds near Wildomar. "Great sense of community and great placement of the gates for safety purposes. Lots of food spots within 10 minutes. Ranger is on constant patrol," reports one camper about Rancho Jurupa.

Concrete pads with grass: Pala Casino Spa Resort offers well-maintained camping areas. "Very well kept up resort. 5-8 minute walk from your camper to a slot machine. They allow early checkin and late checkout," notes one visitor. Another adds, "The spots are very big as well, each spot have a picnic table!"

Swimming options: Most campgrounds maintain pools with various operating schedules. A visitor to Pala Casino noted, "Pool hours kinda suck because they close at 5pm on weekdays but great heated pool and two hot tubs."

What you should know

Lake conditions vary: Water quality at Lake Elsinore fluctuates seasonally. One camper at Launch Pointe Recreation Destination and RV Park noted, "The lake was closed due to algae bloom."

Age restrictions for RVs: Some parks maintain vehicle quality standards. A visitor to Olive Avenue RV Resort reported, "Arbitrarily rejected accepting our motorhome based on a picture I sent, which they undoubtedly did not even check. Never explained why. Don't bother looking here if your rig is over 10 years."

Electrical limitations: Power availability varies by site. A camper at Wilderness Lakes noted, "They don't have enough 50amp sites and not all of them are always working. This park is first come / first served and they don't prohibit a 30amp rig from taking a 50amp site."

Tips for camping with families

Water features for children: Golden Village Palms RV Resort offers family-friendly amenities despite its location. "Our kids love the pool area, grandparents love the pickleball courts, and there are always fun activities to do throughout the year," one visitor shared about Golden Village Palms.

Group camping options: Multiple campgrounds accommodate larger family gatherings. "Took Girl Scouts here for group camping. Rocky and sand. The family camping was fine! Girls used Porta Potties," reported one visitor about Rancho Jurupa.

Evening noise regulations: Quiet hours are strictly enforced at some campgrounds. A camper at Launch Pointe mentioned, "The only bad part is they strictly enforce quiet time at 10pm. I felt like a kid being told to go to bed. I feel like on weekends people should be able to stay up late in front of their camper with low voices."

Tips from RVers

Leveling requirements: Olive Avenue RV Resort has sloped sites. "We had a pull through site with full hook ups; it was on a cement pad that was nice, but the city made them slope all the pads for water drainage... a huge amount! We maxed out our tongue on multiple boards to level off."

Early booking for 50-amp service: Wilderness Lakes visitors recommend planning ahead. "We have been there 5 times in the last 2 years and will go some more, especially with the grandkids, but we have never been able to get in a 50amp site."

Shuttle services: Pechanga RV Resort offers transportation options. "There's a shuttle to to RV guest to the casino but it's suspended due to COVID," noted one guest during pandemic restrictions, though service has since resumed with 24/7 availability.
