Best RV Parks & Resorts near Anaheim, CA

Orangeland RV Park in Orange offers full hookup sites with 50 amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections for motorhomes. Canyon RV Park near Anaheim features pull-through RV pads with 50 amp service and accommodates big rigs on paved sites. Rancho Jurupa RV Park in Riverside provides electric hookups, water connections, and sanitary dump facilities year-round, with spacious sites for larger recreational vehicles. Anaheim Harbor RV Park, located close to area attractions, maintains standard and deluxe sites, though standard sites require careful measurement as they count hitches in the total RV length. "The sites aren't huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit," noted one camper about the Harbor RV Park.

Most Anaheim area RV parks remain open throughout the year, with advance reservations strongly recommended during peak tourist seasons. Newport Dunes RV Resort provides beach access along with full hookups and 372 sites, attracting families with waterfront locations and resort amenities. Several parks charge additional fees for pets, extra vehicles, and pool access, with some requiring surge protectors for electrical connections. Transient occupancy taxes of 15% plus California sales tax apply to most stays, significantly affecting total costs. Cell service is generally strong throughout the region due to the urban setting. Reviews indicate that site dimensions at many parks accommodate slide-outs, though some standard sites may be too narrow for awning extension. Golden Shore RV Resort in Long Beach and Waterfront RV Park in Huntington Beach offer coastal alternatives within driving distance of Anaheim attractions.

Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

    Orangeland RV Park

    Location!

Stay here every year for dance competitions in Anaheim and Garden Grove. Very reasonable prices for the area. Anaheim transit makes on-demand stops her to Disneyland as well as Garden Walk. Very helpful, friendly staff. Many residents mixed with overnight era or vacationers.

    Pros:

    • The price for the area is worth it!
    • Amazing staff.
    • Free citrus picking!
    • Pool, mini golf on site.
    • Incredibly creak restrooms and showers.
    • Camp store.
    • On-demand public transport for $6/person for all-day access.
    • Walking distance to Big Ed and Honda Center.
    • Along Santa Ana River Trail path that connects beach to San Bernardino Mts.
    • Security at night.
    • Dog runs (kinda stinky, though)
    • Back-in and pull-thru sites (I’d try to stay closer to Struck and the western side)
    • Rules are there to keep things nice and safe.
    • Good wifi

    Cons:

    • Stinky dog runs
    • Street racing nearby at night. Every time.

    Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

Guide to Anaheim

Most Anaheim area RV parks provide convenient access to local attractions and beaches, usually within a 20-30 minute drive. The region experiences a Mediterranean climate with average summer temperatures reaching 85°F and winter lows rarely dropping below 45°F. Campgrounds near Anaheim often enforce strict booking policies during peak tourist seasons, especially during summer vacation periods and holidays.

What to do

Splash pad fun: Rancho Jurupa Park offers a water play area perfect for cooling off. "Splash pad, park, mini golf great amenities. Nice staff! Would of liked to be on grass like the sites across but they were clean!" notes Marcella D. about the park facilities.

Biking opportunities: Golden Shore RV Resort connects to beachfront trails. "Great Long Beach location, a nice bike ride along the beach to Naples and the Queen Mary. Highly recommended," says Theo A., highlighting the accessible coastal paths.

Lake activities: Bonelli Bluffs offers waterfront recreation. "There is camping, horseback riding, fishing, trails, biking, hiking, picnics, you can use your jet skies in designated areas, swimming on the pool areas, kayaking, Park for kids and plenty more," explains Jessica P. about the diverse options.

Walk to Disney: Anaheim Harbor RV Park provides convenient access to Disneyland. "We walked to and back from Disney. Super easy. It's a mile each way," shares Jennifer H., making it an option for those wanting to avoid parking fees.

What campers like

Beach access: Waterfront RV Park offers immediate beach proximity. "We really enjoyed this park... mainly due to the proximity to the beach areas. When we booked a trip to Huntington, our main priority was to get to the beach. Booking a site here at Waterfront, provided us a excellent homebase that was close to the water," shares Zach R.

Citrus trees: Orangeland RV Park features fruit you can pick. "Free citrus picking!" notes Emily S., with another camper adding, "Not only that you can pick all the oranges you want!" The park's name reflects this unique amenity.

Clean facilities: Rancho Jurupa Park maintains well-kept grounds. "Great park. It may not seem nice when you are passing through town to get in, but once you enter the gates it's beautiful. Large concrete pads, easy backing in and hooking up. Lots of grass, great place to camp in groups," reports Paul C.

Pool access: Many rv sites near Anaheim, California include swimming options. "Clean, comfortable sites near Long Beach Marina and downtown. Good biking, walking lanes. Pool & jacuzzi are nice," says Denise P. about Golden Shore RV Resort.

What you should know

Security considerations: Several campgrounds implement safety measures. "Security at night," mentions Emily S. at Orangeland RV Park, while Marcella D. at Rancho Jurupa notes, "Only downside was that the ranger said to lock up bikes and be careful leaving out items because a local has been coming in stealing."

Site measurements: Newport Dunes RV Resort can have tight spacing. "I hope you like cozy. Neighbor in campsite next to us yapped his belligerent drunken mouth all weekend," warns Theresa S. about the proximity to other campers.

Noise factors: Some campgrounds experience urban noise. Christina S. reports about Canyon RV Park: "The site is bordered by highways on both sides, and they create noise day and night. They're also clearly visible."

Military restrictions: Certain facilities have limited access. "A well kept secret with one drawback; everyone has to have an ID card to get on the base or be pre approved by base security," explains William M. about Seabreeze At Seal Beach.

Tips for camping with families

Pool reservations: During peak periods, plan ahead for amenities. "During COVID you need to reserve your time at the pool," notes Anna about Golden Shore RV Resort, a practice some parks continue during busy seasons.

Entertainment options: Canyon RV Park offers structured activities. "Bathrooms are clean and they even have fun events on many of the weekends," mentions Kerry L., highlighting the park's social calendar.

Beach movie nights: Newport Dunes offers unique evening entertainment. "They had a movie on the beach when we were there, and fun water toys out. It was rather expensive though," explains Kimberly A., describing the resort-style amenities.

Kid-friendly spaces: Parks often include dedicated play areas. "Great sense of community and great placement of the gates for safety purposes. Lots of food spots within 10 minutes," notes Troy A. about Rancho Jurupa Park.

Tips from RVers

Extra vehicle fees: Budget for additional charges at rv sites near Anaheim, California. At Anaheim Harbor RV Park, Prentice F. warns, "If you have a tow vehicle or are towing a vehicle you must pay per night for a parking spot, whether it fits on the site or not."

Surge protection: Some parks require electrical safety devices. "You will need to pay for the pool key but should get it back," notes Prentice F., adding that many parks have unexpected fees and requirements.

Hookup specifics: Waterfront RV Park offers varying connection options. "They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups," explains Brittney C., detailing the campground layout.

Bathroom hours: Check facility access times. Derrick mentions about Golden Shore RV Resort: "Only downside is they lock the bathrooms from 8pm-730am," which could affect your overnight planning.
