Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

    Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

    Bonita Ranch Campground

    Just ok overall

Needed somewhere fairly close to home to take my new to us motorhome. Sites were decent size but fairly close together so don’t expect a lot of privacy. Sites interspersed among long term residents. Hookups water and electric at each site. Some shade, trails to riverbed currently mostly dry and Bonita falls about 25 minute walk over river rock. Fire rings available to rent for $5. The biggest issue I had was our electric went out to our loop at about 7:30pm…luckily we are self contained…it still had not been restored when we left the next day at noonish. The lights to the office area and restrooms was still on (thankfully) but not the camp sites.

Guide to La Puente

Rv camping options near La Puente, California extend beyond the immediate city limits, with numerous parks located within 10-35 miles. Most parks maintain average temperatures of 65-85°F during peak camping season, with limited winter closures. Summer months experience low precipitation, though coastal locations may have morning fog and higher humidity levels compared to inland sites.

What to do

Water activities at Bonelli Bluffs: Full day access to Puddingstone Reservoir costs $10 per vehicle with fishing licenses required for adults. Visitors can rent kayaks or paddle boards from the marina from April through October. "There is camping, horseback riding, fishing, trails, biking, hiking, picnics, you can use your jet skies in designated areas, swimming on the pool areas, kayaking, Park for kids and plenty more," notes one Bonelli Bluffs visitor.

Mini golf and splash pad access: The splash pad at Rancho Jurupa Park operates daily from May through September with additional weekend hours in April and October. Day use fees apply beyond camping costs. "Splash pad, park, mini golf great amenities. Nice staff! Would of liked to be on grass like the sites across but they were clean!" explains a camper.

Disney proximity transportation: The ART bus system picks up directly from Orangeland RV Park, providing all-day transportation passes for $6 per person. Guests avoid parking fees and traffic congestion. "Easy 15 min drive to Disney plus the ART bus picks up straight from the campground. A covered play area, helpful staff, heated pool as well as a hot tub," reports one family.

What campers like

Spacious concrete pads: Unlike the tight spacing at some La Puente area RV parks, Rancho Jurupa features larger sites with solid foundations. "Large concrete pads, easy backing in and hooking up. Lots of grass, great place to camp in groups," says a regular visitor who prefers the Cottonwood section over Lakeside for larger rigs.

Citrus picking opportunities: Several parks permit fruit harvesting during season, adding a unique regional camping experience. "Dog friendly, clean, quiet, love the grass and trees nicely kept property. Definitely coming back, we had a great time here! Can pick the oranges out of the tree," states an Orangeland RV Park reviewer.

Heated pools and hot tubs: Year-round swimming access remains available at most parks near La Puente regardless of season. "We loved this RV park. Easy 15 min drive to Disney plus the ART bus picks up straight from the campground. A covered play area, helpful staff, heated pool as well as a hot tub," notes a visitor to Anaheim Harbor RV Park.

What you should know

Military-only access restrictions: Some facilities near La Puente require proper identification for entry. "A well kept secret with one drawback; everyone has to have an ID card to get on the base or be pre approved by base security," explains a camper at Seabreeze At Seal Beach, located approximately 25 miles from La Puente.

Weekend noise levels: Sound conditions vary significantly between weeknights and weekends at several parks. "Generally, I would say this is fairly quiet but do expect some road noise from the PCH. Friday/Saturday were the worst nights. Our neighbors were fairly quiet as well, but Friday night seemed to be the most rambunctious night of the week," reports a Waterfront RV Park visitor.

Overflow lot challenges: During peak seasons, some parks utilize secondary areas with different amenities and terrain. "This is our second stay here and probably our last. It was super expensive this time and we were put in the back (overflow) lot which name I use loosely as when it rains it floods. Had to park the car at the office so it wouldn't float away," warns a Canyon RV Park camper.

Tips for camping with families

Group sites availability: Rancho Jurupa Park offers designated areas for larger gatherings with varying amenities. "Took Girl Scouts here for group camping. Rocky and sand. The family camping was fine! Girls used Porta Potties. I'm hoping they have finished construction on something better since then. However, there are some great kid friendly activities," shares a group leader.

Tent camping limitations: Many RV sites near La Puente have restricted tent options or impose additional fees. "I tent camped here for one night before meeting friends at their timeshare for a Disneyland vacation. There are only two tent sites (T1 and T3), the rest are for RVs. The price was super affordable at only $40 per night," notes a visitor to Canyon RV Park.

Budget considerations: Campgrounds closest to attractions command premium rates with additional fees for amenities. "If you want a campground close to beach, this will work. Pool is fine with laundry facility. A huge power plant beside you does not give a great backdrop for pictures," explains a camper at Waterfront RV Park regarding value assessment.

Tips from RVers

Vehicle parking regulations: Most RV parks near La Puente have strict policies about additional vehicles. "The 40ft RV length restriction includes the length of the hitch. Despite their sites being able to accommodate a 40ft rig their campground is extremely tight and sites may be very difficult to back in if longer than 35ft," notes an RVer about Anaheim Harbor.

Hookup flexibility: Water and electrical connections vary considerably between campgrounds and specific sites. "I have had water hookup at all of my spots (changed spots cause i kept booking one night at a time and it was getting busy during Halloween time). Would visit again. 50⚡️ 💧👍. There's a dump station, but a couple spots with dump but they were always booked," reports a visitor at Newport Dunes RV Resort.

Space configurations: Site dimensions impact the camping experience more than advertised size classifications. "We chose Bonelli for our shakedown trip in our new trailer (first time RVers). SO quiet. Numerous residents, but spots are mostly keep up nicely. Our rental spot has 3 trees, a picnic table, a firepit, level parking(!) and full hookups," describes a new RVer at Bonelli Bluffs.
