Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

      Pechanga RV Resort

This Is A Resort With All Amenities

I spent a few nights using my Passport America discount at Pechanga RV Resort. I really liked it there. This is now one of my favorite RV resorts in California except for the showers. It is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that The park itself is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that is fenced in with gazebo, and picnic tables. First of all, it is part of the Casino with entertainment and restaurants. This casino reminds me of the Vegas casinos and now is under construction to make it a real Vegas Style Resort. It’s going to be finished sometimes in 2017.

The RV resort itself has a nice heated pool, Jacuzzi, ping pong table. They also have a golf club which could be important for some. One thing I hated is the showers. The RV resort shower has a timer set to 25 seconds and the showerhead is not able to stand upright. So you basically have to hold the shower in one hand and keep pressing the timer every 25 seconds. It’s December, it’s cold in the shower, especially because the water keeps shutting off. You end up standing soaking wet putting soap on yourself in the cold.

I wonder if the hotel rooms have timer on the showers as well. The person who came up with this idea should take showers in there each night. It pet-friendly resort, they also have an area for dogs. If you heading to the casino, they have a shuttle service 24/7 which picks ups from and drop-offs to and from your space. You have to call a number and they are there to pick you up in minutes.

About the WiFi! It’s the best WiFi ever in any parks I’ve so far visited! I wasn’t even close to the main building and had a great reception. I am able to use my Roku to watch Netflix and can use my laptop as well for work. I didn’t even need my Sprint or Verizon, but both work fine. Across the street, there is a 2-mile bike/walk trail. Using this and riding around the nice neighborhoods it was a fun way to get some exercise.

      Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

      Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

      Waterfront RV Park

      Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

      Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

      Pineknot

Pineknot Campground, Big Bear Lake, Ca

A bit challenging to locate via Google Maps... Just go up (south) Summit Blvd, when you get to the parking lot of the ski resort, veer towards the left, and just past a concrete wall, you'll see the little Pineknot Campground sign attached to an aluminium pole. The campground is very cozy, countless tall pine trees, clean bathrooms, clean sites, water from taps, no hookups, and not for big rigs. The hosts are friendly, but strict! No generators from 8 pm to 8 am, a $3000 fine if your campfire is left unattended, and no rowdy obnoxious behavior is tolerated! We appreciated the rules, and thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful, quiet, deep in the woods getaway!!

      Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

    Guide to Bloomington

Nestled in San Bernardino County, campgrounds near Bloomington, California provide RV enthusiasts and tent campers diverse options within a 30-mile radius. The region experiences hot summers with temperatures regularly exceeding 95°F and mild winters, making camping accessible year-round with proper preparation. Several campgrounds across the area offer varying levels of privacy, amenities, and access to natural attractions.

    What to do

Hiking to waterfalls: Bonita Ranch Campground offers proximity to Bonita Falls, accessible via a short trail behind the campsite. "Easy access to a pretty trail right behind the campground. Very quiet and interspersed with long time stayers and temporary campers," notes Heather L. of Bonita Ranch Campground.

Mountain biking and rock climbing: The yellow post sites at Keller Peak provide excellent access to outdoor activities. "This campground is free with 9 camp sites on a 5 mile paved road, the site's have fire ring and picnic benches, no water. Bike trail is fun and a challenge," shares Sam H. who stayed at Keller Peak Yellow Post Campsites. The area features numerous climbing spots with trails weaving around them.

Water recreation: For families seeking water activities, Launch Pointe provides options beyond standard camping. "Great campground for families. Lots of activities for the kids to do, like smores by the fire, art, splash pad, and play ground. Facility was clean," reports Jeff E. from Launch Pointe Recreation Destination and RV Park.

    What campers like

Safety and security: Many campgrounds implement security measures that campers appreciate. "Great sense of community and great placement of the gates for safety purposes. Lots of food spots within 10 minutes. Ranger is on constant patrol," writes Troy A. about Rancho Jurupa RV Park.

Family-friendly amenities: Campgrounds with dedicated facilities for children rank highly among families. "We enjoyed the pool, watching the ducks in the pond, and the kids loved the basketball court. Some parts closed on certain days- store, jacuzzi, community room," shares Carolina from Thousand Trails Wilderness Lakes RV Resort.

Privacy between sites: Despite being within urban areas, some campgrounds offer good separation between camping spots. "We stayed at campsite #9. It has a great view and secluded," reports T.N. regarding Keller Peak. Similarly, at Skypark Camp RV Resort, a reviewer notes, "Although it's a short trip from the city, camping here is a breath of fresh air. Spaces aren't too close together either."

    What you should know

Fire restrictions vary by location: Regulations differ significantly between campgrounds in the region. "They have fire rings but fires are not always permitted so be sure to check with the station just at the bottom of Keller Peak road," advises Kristil C.

Reservation policies: Many rv sites near Bloomington, California require advance booking. "This park is first come / first served and they don't prohibit a 30amp rig from taking a 50amp site, so you can see the problem," explains David N. about Thousand Trails Wilderness Lakes RV Resort.

Environmental concerns: Water quality can be an issue at some locations. "The beach was right there, close and beautiful right on Lake Elsinore. Yet the beach was disgusting, stinky and covered with algae," reports Brian C. about Launch Pointe, highlighting the importance of checking current conditions.

    Tips for camping with families

Group camping options: Some campgrounds offer designated areas for larger groups. "Took Girl Scouts here for group camping. Rocky and sand. The family camping was fine! Girls used Porta Potties," Janet S. shares about Rancho Jurupa Park, noting that facility upgrades were underway during her visit.

Children's activities: Beyond standard playgrounds, look for campgrounds with specialized amenities. "Sunrise, Sunset and Night sky. Sights of all kinds of birds like hawks and herons. Water park and mini golf for kids. Showers and laundry convenient," describes Xochiquetzal G. about the features at Rancho Jurupa Park.

Educational opportunities: Canyon RV Park offers unique learning experiences despite its urban location. "Campground is well-organized, with cabins, RV spots, a youth area, tent spots and a ropes course. A pool, flushable toilets and hot showers are available to all campers for free," mentions Christina S.

    Tips from RVers

Site selection considerations: RV campgrounds near Bloomington vary significantly in site quality. "Sites are well spaced out and you're not right on top of your neighbors," notes Kerry L. about Canyon RV Park, while at other locations spacing can be tight.

Electrical service issues: Power capacity differs between campgrounds and even within the same facility. "This park is right around the corner from my cabin so it's a great spot to get outside for the weekend without an epic drive," shares Lynn C. about Keller Peak, where no hookups are available, making it important for RVers to plan accordingly.

Specialized RV sites: Fairplex RV Park offers convenience but with limitations. "Spaces are very tight. Good for 1 nite only stay. Staff was friendly and place is clean but not much room to maneuver a lg. rv. in," advises Lawrence P., suggesting caution for those with larger rigs.
