Best RV Parks & Resorts near Saratoga, AR

Millwood Landing Golf & RV Resort near Saratoga provides full hookup RV sites with water, electric, and sewer connections. Several miles away, Texarkana RV Park offers 50-amp service with most sites featuring pull-through access, though the spaces between rigs can be tight. Cossatot River RV Park maintains spacious sites with water and electric hookups, accommodating larger motorhomes on level gravel pads approximately 30 miles from Saratoga. Saratoga Park on Millwood Lake features 17 campsites with 30/50-amp electrical service and water hookups, though no sewer connections or dump station are available on-site. "Sites are clean and well cared for. There is exactly ONE pull-through site that we were fortunate enough to get. The rest are on a tight road."

Throughout southwest Arkansas, most RV parks remain open year-round, though reservation requirements vary by location. Cell service can be spotty at lakeside campgrounds, with one camper noting that "ATT cell service SUUUUCKS here." Propane refill stations are limited in the immediate Saratoga area, requiring travel to larger towns like Texarkana. Many parks accommodate pets with designated dog areas, though restrictions apply in some locations. Big rig access requires careful navigation on approach roads to certain parks, with low-hanging trees occasionally presenting clearance issues. According to one visitor, "Signage was poor to get to campsite... A few low trees on the way in from the highway."

    Piney Point

    Nice clean COE campground

Nice well spaced sites with level concrete pads. Lots of trees for shade in most sites. Beautiful views from the sites on the bluff. It has been quiet every time we were there . Playground ,boat ramp , nice clean showers and rest room. the staff has always been helpful. Most sites are water and electric but there may be some with full hookups . If not , there is a dump station . Very family friendly . No swimming area , but at my age that is not a big deal.

    Cossatot River RV Park

    Quiet, cozy, small rv park

We liked our week long visit here.. It was off the beaten path. Very quiet and peaceful. It seemed most people were gone during the day, maybe working. We explored the state park down the road and went on some fun drives. Easy pull through sites with full hook up. Dog friendly (I think) but there weren't any dogs running loose. There are also a couple cabins in the back it looked like.

**This rv park is not in walking distance to the Cossatot River

    Cowhide Cove Campground

Really nice small campground at OLD Cowhide Cove

This is to update my previous post. We are now in the Old Cowhide Cove Campground. We have a beautiful spot backed up to the lake with a wonderful view. There are two widely separated camping areas: New Cowhide Cove and Old Cowhide Cove. We ae in OLD Cowhide Cove so this review is specific to that area. Very adequate campsites are well spaced with picnic table, fire ring., 50 amp electric and water. There is a well situated dump station right on the way out. Even though the sites are long enough for most rigs, there is a paved parking area between most sites. Old Cowhide Cove Campground is a small area with only a few sites--a plus for me.

I highly recommend this campground. The unreasonably late check-in time is a responsibility of the COE. There was no one to check us in which was no problem for us as we had advanced reservations and an assigned site which was easy to find and presented no difficulty in backing in.

Texarkana RV Park & Event Center

    Great park, but tight spots.

Texarkana RV Park is a very nice, clean, and friendly RV park. They have a gated entrance for extra security. The park has nice amenities such as pool, playground, laundry, restrooms, dog run, and park-like setting with duck pond. Most sites are pull-thru and plenty long, but narrow. Beware of your slide placement before parking, as site poles may be in the way of a slide fully opening. Each site is gravel with a patio and they have 50 amp FHU. We enjoyed our stay at this campground and would definitely stay again. 👍🏻😊

    Cowhide Cove Campground

Quiet camping at Old Cowhide Cove

Old Cowhide Cove campground has 9 sites,  6 are well spaced, level sites spread out along a lake just inside the trees, remainder are placed upon the hill overlooking those sites.  Campground road is paved with gravel parking pads.  Each site has a picnic table, metal fire ring,  BBQ grill and a small table near the BBQ grill.  Plenty of room for a tent on the grass.  Sites have electric and water hook ups.  Cost is $20.  Campground has a restroom but no showers (showers can be found at the more modern New Cowhide Cove campground located on the other side of the lake from old cowhide).  Campground does have trash service and a dump station.  Their is also a small day use area available.

    Millwood State Park Campground

    Nice Park Overall

We are from TX and came to Arkansas for a wedding. This was my first out of state, state park so keep that in mind. The sites are clean and well cared for. There is exactly ONE pull through site that we were fortunate enough to get. The rest are on a tight road. The highway runs right by the pull through site so the road noise can be loud at times. I recommend staying by the lake if you don’t need a pull through site. There are 2 walking trails and a few playgrounds. No fishing off the pier. The lake is BEAUTIFUL, we saw an alligator (I was quite excited about that). The dump station is a pretty tight squeeze but doable if your site doesn’t have a dump (ours did). ATT cell service SUUUUCKS here. I repeat, it suuuuuucks lol! Picked up 4 TV channels on the 1 rainy day we had. All in all, I would stay here again, just wouldn’t compare it to TX State Parks, because well…. I learned this weekend everything is indeed bigger in Texas.

Guide to Saratoga

Southwest Arkansas offers multiple campground options near Saratoga, ranging from basic sites to full-service RV parks. The region experiences hot, humid summers with temperatures regularly exceeding 90°F and mild winters with occasional freezing temperatures. Fall camping provides comfortable daytime temperatures in the 70s with cooler evenings, making it popular for weekend trips to nearby Millwood Lake.

What to do

Fishing at Millwood Lake: The 29,500-acre lake near Millwood Landing Golf & RV Resort offers bass, crappie, and catfish fishing. "We spent a week at this location. The sites are at the back of the property near two small ponds and it was quiet. The golf course was nice, although we did not play," notes camper Bret N.

Diamond mining: Located about 32 miles from Saratoga, Murfeesboro RV Park provides convenient access to Crater of Diamonds State Park. "This place has been great, we stayed for two nights and got to rent out equipment for free to go diamond mining and the woman on staff was very friendly," reports natalie G.

Kayaking and canoeing: The Caddo River offers gentle water recreation suitable for beginners. "The float is also so much fun and accessible for all ages! There's so much to see and the water actually moves instead of you having to paddle the whole way," writes Jessica D. about her experience at Caddo River Access RV Park.

What campers like

Quick interstate access: Many travelers appreciate Sunrise RV Park for its convenient location. "Excellent staff who are accommodating. One night, full hookups was less than $40. Nice site. Close to a Pilot gas station and I-30," says Jeremy G.

Fishing ponds: Multiple RV parks feature on-site fishing opportunities. "We choose A4 backing up to the catch and release pond. We caught many brim in the pond. Level site. Metal picnic table. FHU. Plenty of space between our neighbors," explains Jody J. about her stay at Shady Pines RV Park.

Budget-friendly tent options: Tent campers can find affordable options in the area. "20.00 a night for two people in tent camping. I'm in van and they allowed me to van camp. Tent sites have electric. So bought an extension cord and took full advantage for a small heater," shares Jeanne A. about Murfeesboro RV Park.

What you should know

Seasonal crowds: River recreation areas become congested during summer months. "If you are planning to kayak, canoe or tube, then you may not mind how busy the campgrounds are. The bath/showers are not terribly close, unless you're staying near the bunk houses," mentions Melissa B.

Cell service challenges: Mobile connectivity varies significantly by carrier and location. "Cell phone signal for T-Mobile is non existent. Verizon is AWFUL. AT&T is bad but doable," reports Derrick R. from his stay at Millwood Landing Golf & RV Resort.

Road conditions: Access roads to some rv sites near Saratoga, Arkansas require careful navigation. "Only downside is there are several potholes on the entrance to the campground. Have to go very slow," warns Jason H. about Sunrise RV Park.

Tips for camping with families

Fishing access for kids: Several campgrounds offer beginner-friendly fishing opportunities without leaving the property. "Nice Location near the lake. Away from center city but close enough if you need something. Long and short term sites!" notes Kim B. about Forest Lake RV Park.

Playgrounds and pools: When selecting camping areas near Saratoga, look for family amenities. "Spot has plenty of amenities, cabins, Rv spots, playground, pond, pool, and an event hall. There are full hookups and clean restroom. Close acces to retailers also," shares Vanessa M. about Texarkana RV Park.

Bug preparation: Southwest Arkansas humidity creates ideal conditions for insects. "Got the popup all setup, then discovered there was a large wasp nest in the electric hookup box. Had to break down and move to another spot in the dark," warns Matthew T. about his experience at Caddo River Access.

Tips from RVers

Noise considerations: Location relative to highways and railroads affects campsite tranquility at rv sites near Saratoga. "Good-beautiful grounds with a fishing pond. Large, flat spots. Bad-Very loud and very close train nearby," mentions Heidi about Forest Lake RV Park.

Winter camping: Off-season camping provides solitude but limited services. "Ok so in fairness, we are here end of January 2022. This place is Deserted and everything is closed. However, it is a great place to relax since there is NOTHING going on here," explains Derrick R.

Site selection: When possible, request specific sites at Cossatot River RV Park. "Easy pull through sites with full hook up. Dog friendly (I think) but there weren't any dogs running loose. There are also a couple cabins in the back it looked like," shares Thomas B. who notes the park is "not in walking distance to the Cossatot River."
