      Road Runner RV Park

      Nicely spaced and clean campground

We stayed at this campground 1 night on our way between COVID-19 quarantine locations.  We found the park easy to navigate (no tight turns).  Large semi paved spaces (I say semi paved because the concrete pads were crumbling at least in our spot).  Good separation between sites with picnic tables, no shade but they do have a dog park.  Hookups were easy to reach and appeared to be in good repair.  Decent water pressure.  Many of the spaces were permanent campers or long term workers but it felt safe and appeared well maintained.

      Gamaliel

      Great camping

I have been camping at Fout's at Gamaliel Arkansas since I can remember. The sites are great but close to each other. The park is clean and well maintained with a playground for the littles, and they have clean, full bathrooms on site. Nearby to a dock and marina with rentals, bait and gear available.

Denton Ferry RV Park & Cabin Rental

      Hot in summer

This is probably an excellent site in spring or fall. However summertime is hot at the site because of the lack of shade trees. Site 15 is by the water and has a large area for dogs or family. There is a staircase down to the water next to site 8. The fishing is good. It’s a pet friendly site however if your dogs bark neighbors will complain. The manager is friendly. They do not have trash pick up service; you just take your trash to a dumpster at the end of the camp, which is not a big deal. No grill available but has picnic tables and fire ring. WI-FI aid very good.

      Blue Heron Campground

      Some nice amenities, some lacking.

My wife and I camped here for four nights. Overall it was nice, but there were some things that I wish we knew. The location is great in the sense that it’s easy to get to and it’s laid out well. Unfortunately, it’s directly under an overpass and it is loud- loud enough that I used ear plugs at night.

It’s located on the White river and has a very nice gravel boat ramp, which is a big positive. It also has fishing access during low water.

The WiFi is excellent and the staff are super helpful and friendly.

The biggest plus for us is the bathrooms were among the best that we have found. They’re clean and fairly new.

There is plenty of property to walk and they were very pet friendly. It looks like many of the guests are long term residents.

      Spring River Oaks

      Spring River Oaks

Great place to take the family. Water hook ups , electric , dumping station . Camp in tents , rvs. No pets. Camping along the Spring river with excellent waterfront views. Small store on the campground for necessities and close enough to local shopping in town.

      Sylamore Creek Camp

      Great site!

We love this campground. We love having direct access to creek. It is kayak, family, pet friendly. The only thing it is lacking is internet connection, which for us is a plus for disconnecting. All sites are reasonably level. Site F is the premium and most secluded full hook up site. They have all levels of sites: primitive, water and electric, or full. Their small store has firewood and many other convenient items for sale. We take our own kayaks, but they do have rentals. They have public showers and restrooms, but the restrooms are currently closed due to renovations. It’s really one of our favorite local sites to camp.

      Riverside Campground and Canoe

      Great spot on Spring River

Large campground on Spring River with lots to offer. Cabins, Camper Cabins, RV sites with water & elec and tons of primitive sites. You can also take float trips down the river with this place. Camp store onsite, but only open during busy season. No pets allowed at this campground. This place is packed during warmer months. Make a reservation!

Buffalo Point — Buffalo National River

      A must!

Buffalo national river is the first national river established in the US and let me tell you it's gorgeous!! There are many places to camp but we stayed at Buffalo Point. There are a few different loops to stay on, we stayed in A. Each site has parking, for car or RV all differing in length, and you walk behind the parking to an area with benches, picinic table, lantern hanger, and fire pit. The river is behind the sites and you can swim in it. I recommend swim shoes because its all rocks to get to it and entering in and out of the water. Behind A loop on the opposite side from the ramp before the curve in the river is a rope swing. Its across the river so you must be a strong swimmer to beat the current. The bathrooms are well kept and there is trash bins available. Pets are allowed too. The loop that we stayed in was first come first serve and there was a self pay station near the bathroom. If you are up early enough, you may see bald eagles flying around the river like we did!

    Guide to Gamaliel

Gamaliel, Arkansas sits at approximately 750 feet elevation in the Ozark Mountains, adjacent to Norfolk Lake. During summer months, temperatures typically range from 75-95°F with high humidity levels. The area's camping season runs primarily from April through October, with water levels in Norfolk Lake fluctuating based on dam operations and seasonal rainfall patterns.

    What to do

Trout fishing access: The Dam-Quarry campground positions anglers near prime fishing spots on Norfolk Dam's tailwaters. "Beautiful waterfront camping! The water is clear and freezing cold, and the breeze off the water feels amazing! The sounds from the dam releasing water is so peaceful!" notes camper Donna M.

Swimming at Norfolk Lake: Jordan Campground offers water recreation with rocky outcroppings. Bill D. shares, "This is a great campground. Awesome views of the lake and great swimming off the rock outcrops. Water is so clear the only downside is no showers."

Wildlife observation: Gamaliel Campground visitors should secure food items properly. As Jarrod L. notes, "Close to water, critters, keep your foodstuffs put away. Bring the Deet."

    What campers like

Quiet atmosphere: Robinson Point offers peaceful camping with sufficient space between sites. Gary P. reports, "Another great COE park. Only two shower houses & the one we used was very clean & in good condition. Campsites on 'the Island' are very barron with no shade at all, but close to the water."

Level camping pads: Many campgrounds feature concrete pads that simplify setup. "Good concrete pad. Abit short for our 36' camper. Parking available on road or grass," shares Brian L. about Gamaliel Campground.

Privacy between sites: Lakeview Campground offers well-spaced sites with natural separation. Wayne P. comments, "Sites have a lot of space between them with many Oak shade trees. Covered picnic table. The table was newer aluminum and clean. Camping at it's best."

    What you should know

Seasonal flooding affects sites: Water levels fluctuate dramatically, especially after heavy rains. "There is a Panther Recreation Area which is just a boat landing and then you have a Panther Bay Campground in the basic same area... Warning is the season is very rainy the lake does flood and some sites will flood. Pay attention to signs," advises camper N.I.

Insect preparation necessary: Dog friendly campgrounds near Gamaliel require protection against ticks and chiggers. "Bring the Deet," warns Jarrod L. about Gamaliel Campground.

Bathhouse availability varies: Panther Bay Campground has limited facilities according to N.I.: "This would be five stars except for lack of showers. Beautiful site right on beautiful lake. Short distance from town. Small park mature trees."

    Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Bidwell Point Park provides recreation options for children. Brent M. shares, "Our first time here. It is beautiful! Quickly becoming one of our favorites. We are in site 13 right on the water!"

Swimming areas: Jordan Campground features natural swimming spots off rock ledges. "Kids had a blast here! Cliff jumping, great fishing, kayaking, swim beach, and even pizza from the marina!" reports Donna M.

Level sites for safety: Dam-Quarry campground offers even terrain for family setups. Renee H. notes, "Level paved sites with gravel picnic area including picnic table, fire ring, lantern hanger. Some sites had covered picnic area."

    Tips from RVers

Site selection for larger rigs: Pet-friendly campgrounds around Gamaliel have varied pad lengths. At Robinson Point, Gary P. advises, "Most all sites are relatively level and have asphalt ramps with concrete pads."

Power options: Blue Heron Campground offers superior hookups for RVers. Jodie C. explains, "Excellent concrete pads with easy back-in markings for RVs. Great cement patio so there is no mud in case of rain."
