Fishing Bridge RV Park sits on the east entrance road of Yellowstone, within walking distance of Yellowstone Lake and close enough to the park's central corridor that campers routinely beat the entrance gate crowds to major attractions each morning. It's the only campground inside Yellowstone offering full electric, water, and sewer hookups, and it accepts only hard-sided RVs as a result of bear activity in the area. Anglers have chartered fishing boats on Yellowstone Lake from here, though cutthroat trout must be released. Wildlife sightings at or near the campground include bison, elk, deer, grizzly bears at distance, and birds that wander directly through sites.
The campground runs multiple loops with noticeably different characters. Loop E features concrete pull-through pads well-suited to large rigs, but has no shade and can be windy. Loops H, I, and J sit in heavier tree cover with more privacy, though sites across the campground are close together and bear boxes are sometimes shared between neighbors. As Kari T. notes, "for the best views of Yellowstone Lake, request the E, F, or G Loop." Campfires are not permitted anywhere in the park; propane and charcoal grills are allowed but must be stored inside vehicles overnight.
On-site amenities include pay showers, laundry facilities, flush toilets, a dump station, and a general store with a deli and small grocery. A fuel station and RV repair center are also on the property, which has saved more than one trip when mechanical issues came up mid-visit. Water pressure runs high, around 80 PSI by one camper's measurement, so a pressure regulator is worth bringing. Cell service with Verizon has been reported as workable near the campground and at major attraction areas, though it drops between developed zones.
Reservations are strongly recommended and should be booked by late March for summer stays. Check-in lines can run 20 minutes or more during peak hours. Stephanie H. notes the campground is consistently clean and the staff friendly, and she has returned annually. Campers traveling with dogs will find this a pet-friendly campground, and can explore dog-friendly camping around Yellowstone National Park for additional options elsewhere in the region. Those wanting tent camping or a different atmosphere might consider Bridge Bay Campground - Yellowstone National Park, located a few miles to the southwest.
