Best RV Parks & Resorts near Darrington, WA

Several RV parks serve the Darrington area with varying levels of amenities and seasonal availability. Cascade Kamloops RV Park offers full hookup sites with 30-amp service and water connections year-round, located directly in Darrington. Sites accommodate larger vehicles with pull-through options for easier access. Chom's RV Campground provides six RV-only sites with electric hookups including both 30-amp and 50-amp service, though fires are not permitted at this location. For travelers seeking more space, Riverfront RV Park in Sedro-Woolley features 30-amp electrical service with water hookups and provides sanitary dump facilities. The concrete pads at some parks eliminate the need for leveling equipment. "The only campground we've been to where we didn't need to level the trailer. RV sites are all pull through, it's fairly quiet."

Mountain roads throughout the region present navigation challenges for larger motorhomes, particularly during winter months when snow and ice may affect access. Cell service varies significantly between RV parks, with stronger connections available at locations closer to towns. Most RV facilities near Darrington remain open year-round, though amenities like water hookups may be winterized during freezing temperatures. Pets are generally welcome at area RV parks with standard leash requirements. Dump stations are limited in the immediate Darrington vicinity, with some parks offering on-site dumping while others require using facilities in neighboring communities. A review noted that "we didn't use the restrooms since we have a self-contained trailer. There's a charge dump station at the ministorage at the turn off." Propane refill services are scarce, requiring advance planning for extended stays.

    La Conner Marina RV Resort

    Decent Level Sites

Nice location conveniently located near the Marina, close to everything.

Premium sites are double wide and have a spot to park your RV AND Vehicle. Discount for Good Sam Club members.

Premium Sites $55 before discount (back-in only) Pull-through Sites $55 before discount Regular Back-in Site $45

We stayed in a Premium site, enjoyed the view of the Fields behind us. Extremely quiet, open, not dusty. Downside, people don’t pick up after their Pets. We have two Shelties & think of others so we’re not the Culprits…

Otherwise, pleasant overall. Laundry accepts cards only which is extremely convenient since coins are hard to come by.

5G t-Mobile is 5-stars at our Site, it’s not listed as an option yet.

    North Sound Recreational Vehicle Park

    Simple Urban RV Park

This is very much an RV park and not really a campground. Seems like a clean little park, but right in the middle of Lynnwood, so if you are looking for a rural setting this isn't for you.

They offer weekly and monthly rentals, so this is more of a long-term sort of place.

    Website: Northsound RV Park

    Requirements from their site:

    • Your travel trailer must be year 2005 or newer
    • Pet friendly(limit 2) not to exceed 25 lbs. Aggressive breed restrictions apply.
    • No conversion vehicles - sorry van and bus life people
    • No trailers larger than 35' long, ideally.

    Kayak Point County Park

Small woodsy campground with beach access

All campsites are surrounded by trees so choose carefully if you need a pull through or if you have a large rig that you’re trying to back up. We had a small camper van and it fit perfectly. Campsite is on a bluff above the beach, but you can’t see the sunset from the campground you would have to go down to the beach. Bathroom/shower is typical for a state or county campground - functional, but zero elegance. This one is a county campground and state or federal passes do not apply. Water and 30 amp electric at all sites except one tent site. Douglas squirrels are common and shy. Pets are welcome on leash.

Military Park Jim Creek Naval Radio Station Jim Creek Wilderness Recreation Area

    So much to do!

It had been 15 years at least since I'd been to Jim Creek. Since then, they've done some nice upgrades. The rv pads are double wide concrete pads about 50 feet long with full hook-ups. All sites include a fire pit, picnic table, and grill with ash bucket and grill cleaning brush. The rv park is close to the recreation office that has a little gift shop with snacks and drinks. This is also where you can rent equipment such as bikes, fishing poles, boats, etc. They also have a movie theater upstairs that operates on Saturday. This building has a 24 hour lounge with free wifi, TV, dvds, books, markers, coloring books, games, and other things for visitors to use. The wifi was only supposed to work inside the building, but I could pick it up in my campsite once or twice during our stay. Verizon cell service is very spotty. When I did pick it up, I only had one bar. There are several hiking trails and you can drive about 5 miles back to Twin Lakes to fish or just take a rented boat out or just enjoy the view. Jim Creek is a Naval Radio station and is for active duty military, retired, DoD, and reserves. There is a gate and you must show id to get in. Because of this and the base police roll through once or twice a day, I felt very safe compared to a state park or even a private campground. We camped Tuesday-Friday and even when it started filling up in Thursday, it was still super quiet at night. Quiet like not even bug sounds. That was wonderful.

    Clear Creek Campground

Gorgeous camping in the Mt Baker National Forest

The Clear Creek campground is off the Mountain loop Rd in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Clear Creek is only ten minutes or so from Darrington WA. Only 13 campsites with tent pads, picnic tables, and fire rings. Vault toilets were also available. Firewood is not available on site, but local residents have firewood for sale at the roadside. The creek and the Sauk river are absolutely beautiful. There is so much wildlife in the area, keep an eye out, I think I saw a wolverine by the creek, couldn't get my camera ready in time,

    North Whidbey RV Park

Clean, well organized RV Park for big rigs

We called early afternoon and asked if they had a space for that night for a fifth wheel with total rig length 53ft. Nice grass around all the campsites, 50 Amp electricity, water and sewer. Picnic table at every site. Lovely location but it can be noisy due to proximity to road and navy jets. Overall a great place I will stay again.

    Verlot Campground

Camping in a van down by the river

The Verlot campground is in a beautiful location within the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. This small campground showed us that sometimes camping down by the river in a van isn’t really a bad life decision. The campground themselves are 2 small loops that were nicely laid out with a good number of the 26 sites being on the water. Some of the sites are more secluded than other, and a few are setup to be combined with their neighbors to accommodate large groups. Our site (#13) was one of the sites which is more separated from the neighbors on both the left and right by fairly thick underbrush and mostly shaded with the river side being left completely open. We then had a little path right down to the river. Within the site itself you get a nice decent flat area for a tent or 2 and your standard table and fire ring with a grill. There are tons of potable water spigots located throughout the campgrounds and the restroom facilities were simple but clean and fully functional. This is a great location for either just relaxing and taking in the quiet sounds of nature or as a jumping off point to explore more of the National Forest and eventually the Northern Cascades National Park.

Amenities: standard picnic tables, fire rings + grill, flush toilets, potable water

    Prohibited: pets off-leash

Nearby Hikes: Lake Twenty-Two Trail, and the Heather Lake Trail

    Rasar State Park Campground

    Spacious Getaway

We just spent two nights cold weather camping here. It’s a beautiful quiet park with very spacious lots. There is not a lot to do besides hiking, but if you are looking for peace and quiet in the woods, this might be the ticket.

    Riverfront RV Park

Inexpensive and great for a one night

30 amp sites with water. Dump station was not on site. No showers but clean bathrooms. Traveling with friends and we were the only 2 RVs there except for a campground host. The host helped our friends replace a pin on a slide out.

Guide to Darrington

RV campgrounds near Darrington, Washington offer varying accessibility dependent on seasonal road conditions. Located in the North Cascades region, this area receives significant snowfall between November and April that can impact mountain access routes. Several campgrounds maintain year-round operations with modified winter amenities and limited site availability during off-season months.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: Visitors to Cascade Kamloops RV Park can enjoy on-site fishing at their trout pond. "Cute little place. Laundry, fishing pond and restrooms," notes Jennifer H., highlighting this convenient activity without leaving the campground.

Hiking nearby parks: The North Cascades National Park entrance is accessible within a short drive from several RV parks in the region. Brian H. explains that Chom's RV Campground is "eleven minutes to the entrance of the national park and 30 minutes to the visitor center" making it a strategic base for day hikes.

Wildlife viewing: Many campsites offer opportunities to observe local wildlife. Kristin S. shares that at Lake Pleasant RV Park, "the grounds are quiet... truly silent... save for the many geese that call the lake in the center of the property their home," creating natural entertainment for campers.

What campers like

Concrete camping pads: Several RV parks feature level concrete pads that eliminate the need for additional equipment. At Lake Pleasant RV Park, "The areas were paved and level," according to Terri, making setup considerably easier for RVers.

Privacy between sites: Natural barriers between camping spots provide added seclusion. Terri notes that Lake Pleasant offers "great privacy hedges between spots," while Brodie D. mentions that at Tall Chief Campground, "Most sites are pretty big too. We can easily fit our trailer, tow vehicle, and extra vehicle and still have space!"

Clean facilities: Well-maintained bathrooms and shower facilities rank high on campers' priority lists. Andrew observed at Skagit River RV & Camping that "The bathhouse is ok," though he opted to use his trailer shower instead due to the number of tent campers using the facilities.

What you should know

Cell service variability: Mobile connectivity fluctuates significantly between campgrounds. Brodie D. reports from Tall Chief Campground: "Another thing that can be annoying is trying to find a site with good cell reception due to all the trees... I'm getting 120+ mbs download on AT&T in my site right now, but several sites down from me, it can dwindle down to 5mbs!"

Seasonal limitations: Some facilities operate only during warmer months. Kate K. notes that Friday Creek Campground is "Only open May-Oct!" requiring off-season alternatives.

Limited grocery options: Remote locations mean restricted shopping access. Andrew advises about Skagit River RV Campground: "Bring all your groceries, not much in way of stores in area."

Tips for camping with families

Playground availability: Some campgrounds offer play areas for children. While Tall Chief Campground has playground facilities, Derek & Alex W. note that "The amenities needed repairs, such as the play areas," suggesting families check current condition reports.

Swimming options: Pools provide recreation during summer months. Michael W. mentioned his experience at Tall Chief: "The campsites were pretty tightly packed so we didn't have much privacy but the facilities were well kept and the pool was an amazing spot!"

Walking trails: Riverfront RV Park offers extensive walking areas suitable for families. Patricia K. describes it as a "Well kept large quiet park. Great dg waking areas; including a dog park," providing options for exercise with children and pets.

Tips from RVers

Honey wagon services: For extended stays at parks without sewer hookups, waste removal services are available. At Tall Chief Campground, Derek & Alex W. explain: "We don't have room for [a honey wagon] so we used a pumping service halfway through our time there. The park provided the information for the service. It was $60 though."

Storage options: Some RV parks offer temporary storage solutions. John M. shares that Lake Pleasant RV Park has "a small storage lot that can accommodate short storage. I camped, stored my camper while I went on a cruise, camped and then headed out."

Dump station locations: When on-site dumping isn't available, knowing nearby options is crucial. Patricia K. notes about Riverfront RV Park: "Free city dump station within a mile; easy to access," providing a convenient alternative.
