Millersylvania State Park offers fun for everyone. Spend a summer day splashing in Deep Lake. Gather with friends in an historic kitchen shelter.

Conveniently located between Olympia and Centralia, this large, well-visited park beckons to adults and children alike.

Many of the park structures, including the kitchen shelters, were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s, making the park a great place to see and admire the hallmark artisanship of that era.

With two swimming beaches, miles of forested hiking and biking trails, watercraft launches, non-motorized watercraft rentals (kayaks, paddleboards, pedal boats) and abundant fishing, Millersylvania will keep you busy for a satisfying weekend or an extended outdoor vacation.

    Thousand Trails Long Beach

    Nice campground with beach access

The location is perfect, with an easy walk to the beach, making it ideal for those who love the ocean.

The campground offers a variety of amenities, including a pool and hot tub, which are perfect for relaxing after a day of activities. For pet owners, there's a convenient dog park where dogs can run and play.

The RV sites nice, but not very spacious. It is super nice that full hook-ups are standard. Tent sites are also available and offer a comfortable camping experience.

    Copalis Beach RV Resort

    RV resort and campground

This an ideal beach access resort. There is a very nice pedestrian walkway bridge over a small stream and then a short walk through the dunes to a beautiful ocean beach. During certain times of the year vehicles are allowed to drive on the beach through various access points within a couple of miles of the resort.

We visited this resort during the off-season in November and during the middle of the week. There were only 8 other campers in the park with a few long termers. You can purchase a membership but it is not necessary to stay here. Visitors are welcome but it can be very busy during the summer time and holidays. I would call for availability.

This is an older park and facilities show their age but the bathrooms and showers were very clean. There is a dedicated tent only area and a few cabin rentals. RV sites are side by side and back to back. There is no shade. RV sites are full hookup with water, power, sewer and cable. There is also a dump site on location. Wi-fi is available for a fee, otherwise not accessible. We forgot to sign-in to our Winegard Gateway before arriving so we had data but no Wi-fi. Gravel sites with a little grass and fairly level.

Pet friendly but dogs must be leashed. Our dog had a great time running on the beach and walking the trails in the dunes.

Propane and ice available on site.

There is a community fire pit and portable propane fire pits are allowed at the sites.

Not all sites have picnic tables.

The town of Ocean Shores is about a 20 minute drive.

On site resort manager, Timothy and his wife, were very friendly and always willing to help.

    Basic RV park

A large grassy area for both long term and short term RV rental. What was nice is that we were spaced out during this covid epidemic. They also have some cabins and prices are reasonable for full hookups.

    Summertide Resort & Marina

    Good view

It’s a nice little place, down on the hood canal, very cozy. We stayed down at a cabin and it was pretty empty, which was nice. The cabin was a bit older, but it has a charm to it, everyone had service there too. I’d recommend bringing a small boat out if you can, sunset on the hood canal was great, we saw some porpoises. Overall, I’d go back again if I wanted a quiet little getaway without the haste of camping.

    Small, Beautiful

Only 16 RV sites, which I find is a plus. All have views of beautiful Hood Canal. There are several cabins on the property, as well as a small inn. Property is well maintained. Would have given five stars, if not for the noise from the 101, which is just feet away. All in all, a very nice campground.

    Cozy cabin with lovely views

I love this cabin at Coffee Creek. The weekends I have spent here are always nourishing. This October one was particularly nourishing. The wood stove keeps you toasty in the cold, the kitchen space is perfect and simple. The windows give you incredible views of the forest. The outside porch and seating setup are lovely to drink tea at and absorb the beauty.

    Great family campground

Large campground with RV sites, tent camping area, and cabins. There is a clubhouse with a pool, board games, and movies. They also have a swing set, horseshoes, beach volleyball, and mini golf. Neighbors were friendly and it was quite at night. There is also a laundry facility and we like to go to Long Beach and Astoria nearby for the markets on the weekend.

We love lake Curlew and Fishermans Cove is a special place. From the owners to the guests that come back year after year. Amazing. The restaurant, store and amenities are fantastic. We always catch a bunch of fish for a fun fish fry our last night. Rent a boat super fun! We’ve stayed in the cabins and brought our RV this time. Any of the RV sites are great.

    It's fine, but expensive

Campgrounds nearby were closed, so had to come here. Price for all sites was $72 after tax in 2024. Has electric and water, limited wifi in campground. Took site 31. Sites were close together but luckily no neighbors for us. Lake is nice, Lake Crescent is much better if you're looking for a pretty lake to swim. Big Sitka spruce nearby. 31 sites total. Some cabins and whatnot available. Expensive camp store exists.

    Millersylvania State Park Campground

    Nice place

Beautiful spot, though tightly packed and crowded/noisy. We stayed in spot 59 on a Saturday night. It was rainy and the fire pit area had plenty of puddles. Lots of folks came in later in the evening with multiple cars and sat out talking; plenty of them packed up and left before 8 am. We walked the fen trail, which was spooky and different from our home of Colorado! Reservations needed. There are also glamping cabins. Nice clean bathrooms with flush toilets, water available at multiple locations, showers available with tokens.

    Millersylvania State Park Campground

    A close get away

I have camped here a number of times over the years. This is a nice woodsy campground just south of Olympia, WA located on Deep lake. It has a very old growth forest feel to it. This campground offers many activities: hiking trails, fitness trails, fishing, boat rental, and even a concession stand. The fishing is good for trout, bass, and sun fish. This park offers both hookup and non utility tent sites as well as glamping tents.

Cons: most of the hookup sites are in a field with zero privacy but there are a few that are much better like the last spot I stayed at.

The primitive sites are better but the roads are quite narrow with limited access for RV's.

The "Glamping tents"are very nice but crazy expensive at over $300 a night. Like most of the State Parks reservations book up quickly so it pays to plan ahead

Pros: fishing is pretty good even from shore. The day use area is great but pretty rustic. Lots of trails to hike but not as well marked as I would expect. Really close to Seattle so it is ideal for a weekend getaway Friday after work.

    Grayland Beach State Park Campground

    Popular campground with huge beach

Grayland seems to be off the beaten path when it comes to state campgrounds, only 30 minutes outside of Aberdeen. The campground is very popular but worth it for the great beach. The beach is massive, clean, and very few people are out there. We always feel like we have the whole beach to ourselves to let the kids and dogs run! Just up the road is the small town of Westport if you feel the need to be social. Stop by Granny Hazel's for a sweet treat, then hit the marina for fresh prawns or crab!

    This place has it all!!

When we go crabbing it is usually our of Tokeland. We checked out Bay Center and were so pleasantly surprised by this KOA. This place really has it all!!

-Full Hookups, complimentary showers, wifi, cable, and a snack bar.

They have clam beds just for campers, or a day fee for those wanting to rake without camping. Some of the sites are pretty open but if you went with a large family it would be perfect. You can only have 4 people to a tent campsite and 6 to an RV site, which puts some limitations on people.

They have spaces for RV's and trailers, tents, cabins, yurts and even have trailers you can rent to stay in on site!

This is a great spot for families who do not necessarily want to rough it and want to enjoy a smooth weekend being cared for by great hosts!

    Grayland Beach State Park Campground

    One of our favorites anywhere

My family stayed at Grayland beach, our first camping trip after moving from Minnesota to Washington. So glad we didn't go to Ocean Shores, you can see all the tourists across the water from the observation tower in Grays Harbor.

Saw my first banana slug, a huge yellow one that crawled out from the water spigot post at the campsite!

We went back several times, including for one winter storm in January that cleared out all the campers but us, until we realized the yurt had no power (hence no heat) and found that there was no power all the way to Aberdeen! The pounding of the surf all night sounded like a freight train on the other side of the dune, we didn't get a very restful night but that's not because of the park- it's always exciting. We spent hours chasing waves, collecting sand dollar shells, and even found the remains of a large ray washed up on the beach.

We have talked to campground hosts who RV full time, seeing the whole country- but who say Grayland is their favorite!

Interesting to go down to the cannery road, and see the shoreline disappearing year upon year...people's houses lost to the waves.

    Awesome Beach Getaway

Hidden gem on the coast! Just south of Westport is Grayland Beach State Park. Perfect spot to dig for razors or to just get away to the beach. Great tent and yurt sites, lots of water access, and trails in the area. Visit Westport for a few hours and enjoy the small beach town vibe.

Great for families and short getaway trips, rain or shine.

    Millersylvania State Park Campground

    Go here!!!

They have glamping! Or as the campground calls it: pampered camping. This is a beautiful park located on Deep Lake just outside of Olympia.  The park itself is huge offering lots of options for campers.  Super easy to get our trailer in and out of the spaces and there was lots of extra parking for our larger group.  A quick walk around the grounds offered a nice hike and showed us some pretty awesome sites Id like to stay at in the future.  They are on a progressive price, meaning depending on the site is what your price will be.

The canvas tent option was one I didn’t know about until I got there.  The tents are cabin shaped and have a few chairs and BBQ grill outside it.  Great option for families.

The park also offers a cottage right next to the lake.  This is a nice alternative to traditional camping.  One thing that was great about the park was the various kitchens around the grounds.  This offers a great way for larger groups to have a set space for meals.

    Cedar to Surf Campground

    Welcoming and friendly

Really nice, mellow, low key RV & tent campground..“nice” as in comfortable and welcoming to all, not as in the amenities. The place itself is somewhat run down, but still functional and fine. We got spot #30, which was an unlevel back-in site. We were told all sites are FHU, but I couldn’t figure out how to get the sewer cap off, if that’s what it was. I didn’t bother to ask about it, as we didn’t need to dump yet.

With taxes and all we paid about $50 for a night for that site. We didn’t have reservations and there was plenty of availability. Free showers, which we didn’t use, laundry is $1.50 for wash and $2.00 for dry. There are also cabins on site, a huge rec room with an arcade game, a TV, kitchen, and a book exchange. Cell service was a little weak but their free wifi was nice.

They also bake bread on site! Not sure what that was about or if it’s for sale, but they were baking when we walked in to the office and it smelled great. The walk to the beach was a pleasant roughly 0.25 mile one. Cars drive straight on the beach so watch your dogs.

There is recycling here and they do take glass but cans must be uncrushed and bar code must be readable, and no soup cans accepted :(
