Best Tent Camping near Winchester, VA

This camping area has all the feel of being remote and isolated, but it's actually in very short range of all the amenities you'd ever need. With easy access off major roadways and a short drive from Winchester, VA, you can get whatever you need and then be back in the woods in no time. The creek, surrounding hills, woods, and a few open fields make this a great remote, primitive campsite without being too far away from civilization. The owners are fantastic and very helpful, gracious hosts. Highly recommend!

We really Enjoyed the spot, there aren’t a lot of tent sites, it’s mostly RV sites, pretty big campground as far as the RV sites go. The tent sites are by the river. It was a pretty quiet campground.

Tent sites are rough, some outside ring sites have tent pads.

We legit loved this park! I took my grandkids tent camping and we had a wonderful experience. We brought our bikes and hit the trails. It was some great times. We had electricity and water and the bathrooms were close to our site. The park is on the Shenandoah River and there are multiple spots to put in and take out. There is primitive tent camping down by the river which looks fantastic. We definitely loved the trails with hiking and biking options. We will definitely go here again.

i wouldn’t take my camper here personally but it’s great for tent camping especially with a group. lake is beautiful!

Great place to tent camp with about 10 spots available. It was empty when we went and was perfect. The sunset is breathtaking!

Tent camped here last Labor Day weekend. Site was a good size. Fantastic KOA. Tons of things to do for our 9 year old!
