Best Cabin Camping near Pine Valley, UT

Several campgrounds near Pine Valley, Utah provide furnished cabin rentals with varying amenities. The Pine Valley Guard Station offers rustic cabin accommodations with electricity, drinking water, and toilet facilities, though it doesn't allow pets. Zion River Resort in nearby Virgin features cabins with queen beds and bunk beds, air conditioning, and good lighting from multiple windows. According to one visitor, "The back bunk beds were super cozy and we enjoyed a bed after being in a tent for the previous week." Most cabins include television access, with restrooms and showers typically located nearby rather than inside the units. St. George/Hurricane KOA Journey provides cabin camping options with access to their pool, playground, and private shower facilities.

Cabin sizes range from small one-room structures to larger family accommodations sleeping 4-6 people. Most properties require advance reservations, especially during peak summer months when Zion National Park visitation is highest. While the Pine Valley Guard Station maintains a no-pets policy, many other cabin rentals in the region are pet-friendly, including those at Zion West RV Park in Leeds and WillowWind RV Park in Hurricane. Cabin rental rates typically range from $45-90 per night depending on size, amenities, and proximity to national parks. One reviewer noted that their cabin at Zion RV and Campground was "a great alternative if the national park is full," highlighting the practical advantage of these accommodations during busy periods.

Most cabins provide beds with mattresses but require guests to bring their own sheets, pillows, and towels. Kitchen facilities vary significantly between properties, with some offering only outdoor fire pits and picnic tables while others include small refrigerators and microwaves. The St. George/Hurricane KOA Journey includes a great room with dining tables and television for cabin guests. On-site camp stores at several locations stock basic food items, firewood, and forgotten essentials, though prices tend to be higher than at grocery stores in Hurricane or St. George. Visitors staying multiple nights often bring coolers with pre-prepared meals to supplement cooking options, as kitchen equipment is typically minimal in most cabin rentals.

    Zion River Resort

    Cabin review

Check in was fast and smooth. Got the key and remote for the tv then head to the cabin that was around the way from the office/pool area. Sheets was provided for the queen bed but not the bunk beds. Which was fine because we were ready with our own sheets. Rest room and shower was right in front of our cabin, so we didn’t have to walk far. Good ac unit and lighting the with number of windows they got. Overall a great experience from our 1 night stay.

South Campground — Zion National Park

    Great campground

This campground is great for exploring Zion National Park. Each campsite has a fire pit and picnic table. There are restrooms with running water and electricity. Only a short walk from a shuttle station and Visitor’s Center. We also had deer around our campsite every morning and evening.

Water Canyon Cliffside Cabin L and L

Stunning views of the Canaan Mountains

I'm a team member at The Dyrt kicking off the review section with some info from the campground's website.

Water Canyon Cliffside offers a secluded wilderness experience. Each tent site has space for parking, a fire pit, and picnic table. They also have a mini cabin and a canvas tent available to stay in!

There are hiking trails within walking distance, mountain biking trails nearby, and Zion National Park is only an hour drive away!

    Zion RV and Campground (Hi-Road)

    Hi-Road Campground (Zion)

Great campsite right down the road from Zion. Only about $45/night and you get clean nice showers and clean bathrooms. There’s free WiFi, laundry facilities, and a game room. Also a nice little restaurant within walking distance (right across the street). Several campsites to choose from - we picked a more secluded one (although it was very close to other sites and near the highway). Picnic tables, table, grill and fire rings at most sites. Access to showers and bathrooms and other amenities 24/7. Great place to stay and they say they always have spots open for last minute check-ins. Will definitely go back in the future and highly recommend!

South Campground — Zion National Park

    Book ahead of time!

This is by far on of my favorite National Parks. The campground is fairly large (100 + spots) but very hard to secure a spot, make sure to book ahead of time! Zion has some rules about booking ahead so check the website to know when to make a booking. We managed to get a spot last minute but it was a walk in spot. These are a problem if you have a lot of stuff but you can avoid some crowds with them. The views right from the campground are incredible and the rest of the park is overwhelmingly fun.

The campground has plenty of vault toilets, picnic tables, water and trash bins. There are other campgrounds in the park as well as outside if this is full. Caution that the grounds outside the park can be pricey and are nothing special.

    Zion River Resort

    Wonderful Camping Experience!

We camped in one of the cabins for the first night because there was no availability for the campground sites. It was entirely worth the money! The back bunk beds were super cozy & we enjoyed a bed after being in a tent for the precious week. The campground site the next night was wonderful as far as campgrounds go. The ground was level & covered with fine gravel. The sites are not very big & you’re right up next to other campers; but it’s all you need when you spend the majority of the day out in Zion & just come back to eat dinner & sleep. The electricity was nice to have for charging laptops to import/edit photos of the day’s adventures. The showers were a real treat because they were included with the campground. The bathrooms were in the same room as the showers & there were only two rooms, so if two people were showering, you’d be out of luck for using the restroom anytime soon. Other than that, everything was a such a positive experience. There was free coffee in the main building & also a little shop for anything you may have forgotten—the nearest store is about 20 minutes away. All in all, this place is amazing & I would highly recommend.

    Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort

    Zion Ponderosa Resort

Lovely tent campsite with a picnic table and fire ring. Excellent shower room and restroom with laundry. Full service resort including restaurant on grounds. No cell signal but decent WiFi EXCEPT in the campground. There were many sites for RV’s, vans, and tents. They had full hooks available. Lots of room between sites. I enjoyed my stay.

Guide to Pine Valley

Cabin camping options near Pine Valley, Utah range from rustic forest guard stations to modern lodging with full amenities. The area sits at elevations between 4,000-10,000 feet with distinct seasonal temperature variations. Summer daytime highs often reach 100°F in lower elevations while winter nights in Pine Valley can drop below freezing, making cabins particularly valuable during shoulder seasons.

What to do

Explore Red Cliffs Conservation Area: Located about a mile from St. George / Hurricane KOA Journey, this area features towering red cliffs with miles of hiking trails. "This National Conservation Area is surrounded by towering red cliffs that have miles of hiking trails through them. It's a great place to spend the day exploring," notes reviewer Berton M.

Access the Virgin River: The riverside cabin sites at Zion River Resort provide direct water access. "Being near the Virgin River is great. What a peaceful place to visit," writes one reviewer. Another camper mentions, "The cool Virgin River behind our site was a nice place to soak our tired feet and enjoy a beverage after hiking in Zion."

Off-road adventures: Sand Hollow OHV Camp offers cabin access with proximity to off-road trails. "If you're in the area to see sand hollow via motorcycle or side-by-side this is a perfect base camp," explains Shayli L. The area features red Utah desert terrain with plenty of sandy trails for recreational vehicles.

What campers like

Peaceful settings away from crowds: WillowWind RV Park in Hurricane offers cabin stays in a well-maintained environment. "Despite basically being in a desert, the park had lush grass in every spot and a dense tree cover. It was about 10 degrees cooler in the park because of the shade from the trees," shares Jenny W.

Clean facilities: Cabin renters at Leeds RV Park & Motel consistently mention cleanliness. "Clean is an understatement and it's been happening way longer than covid so you know people care about their property," states Brittney C., while another reviewer adds, "Showers are super clean."

Convenient access to multiple parks: Cabins in this area provide strategic access to multiple recreation areas. "The campground is about 30 minutes west of Zion National Park. It is also near many trails and fun things to do," notes a WillowWind reviewer. Another visitor pointed out, "There is more than Zion within 10 min of this campground. Red Cliffs Rec area has beautiful trails and dinosaur tracks."

What you should know

Seasonal extremes affect comfort: Summer heat makes shade critical when selecting cabin accommodations. One reviewer noted, "The weather here is extremely hot over 100! Most spots have only one small tree or none unless outside or some inside but far from the bathrooms."

Internet connectivity varies: While some properties advertise WiFi, the actual performance fluctuates. At McArthur's Temple View RV Resort, "AT&T coverage was quite good, with 4 Bars of 5G service and speeds up to 22 MB/s." However, at other locations, guests report, "There is virtually no cell signal. Certainly not enough to even begin to create a hot spot."

Advance bookings essential: For Pine Valley Guard Station cabin rentals, availability is extremely limited. The sole rustic cabin must be reserved well in advance. One recent visitor warned, "You have to pack all your stuff in and that is a pain when you do not receive what you paid for."

Tips for camping with families

Look for recreational amenities: Family-friendly cabin accommodations offer activities on-site. "This park doesn't offer a lot of amenities, but does have showers and laundry room," notes one reviewer about Zion West. Meanwhile, McArthur's Temple View features "a very nice rec center and plenty of activities during the winter months."

Consider cabins at state parks: Sand Hollow OHV Camp provides nearby access to Sand Hollow State Park's water recreation. "The area is absolutely beautiful. Red Utah desert and very sandy," mentions one camper. Another visitor adds, "I enjoyed paddle boarding on the lake. We loved it so much we stayed 2 extra days."

Check noise levels: Some campgrounds near Pine Valley are quieter than others. One reviewer cautions about Sand Hollow: "If you're in the area to see sand hollow via motorcycle or side-by-side this is a perfect base camp. For everyone else you might be quickly annoyed by the noise all day, and night."

Tips from RVers

Consider power needs: Temple View RV Resort offers "50amp full hookups including cable TV and strong wifi," important for those with larger cabin needs or staying long-term. Some properties differentiate between 30-amp and 50-amp service.

Look for extended-stay options: Many cabin camping facilities near Pine Valley accommodate longer stays. "A lot of permanent residents but they keep spots open for travelers," notes a Leeds RV Park & Motel reviewer.

Ask about pet policies: Pet rules vary significantly between cabin rentals in the area. Some allow pets in designated cabins while others prohibit them entirely. The Pine Valley Guard Station specifically does not permit pets.
