Best Cabin Camping near Newcastle, UT

Several cabin accommodations can be found near Newcastle, Utah, offering varying levels of comfort and amenities. Red Ledge RV Park in Kanarraville provides basic cabin rentals with access to communal facilities including hot showers, restrooms, and a hot tub. Cedar City RV Resort by Rjourney features furnished cabins with electricity and heating. Iron Springs Resort offers more private cabin accommodations with full hookups. Most cabin sites include picnic tables and fire pits for outdoor cooking and dining. Bathroom facilities vary by location, with some cabins providing private bathrooms while others rely on communal restroom buildings. "The bathroom was freshly remodeled and it was cute and clean and the showers were great. I felt very safe," noted one visitor about the Cedar City location.

Rustic and deluxe cabins are both available, depending on the location. At Red Ledge RV Park, cabins are simple structures that provide shelter and basic sleeping accommodations. The Cedar City RV Resort offers more substantial cabin options with better insulation and amenities. Most cabins require reservations, especially during peak summer months when visitors travel to nearby attractions like Zion National Park. Pet policies vary by campground, with some allowing pets in cabins while others restrict them. A camper at Cedar City RV Resort mentioned, "We rented a cabin, the first cabin curtains were too small and I thought they would just send someone with different curtains. They upgraded us to a bigger cabin and were very apologetic about it."

Most cabins include beds but require visitors to bring their own linens, towels, and toiletries. Kitchen facilities range from basic to non-existent, with many cabins offering no cooking equipment. Visitors should plan to bring camp stoves or use communal grills where available. Several campgrounds provide on-site markets where basic supplies can be purchased, though selection is limited. Iron Springs Resort and Iron Springs Adventure Resort have fewer amenities but offer more seclusion. Cabins at Zion River Resort and St. George/Hurricane KOA Journey provide more comfortable accommodations with better access to supplies and facilities. Electricity is available in most cabin rentals, though heating and cooling systems vary considerably by property.

Eagle Valley Resort & RV Park

    Dope little place

A super neat little spot right before you enter Spring Mountain, State Park. This Resort has cabins to rent, RV spaces available, a laundry room, pet friendly, a bar with pool tables, a store with everything you need in case you forgot it..... I mean who doesn't love a  nice cup of hot coffee. The store is run by a chill older guy who is super friendly...

The cabins have an open living area with a full/queen bed and bunk beds, Each cabin comes with a fully functional kitchen which includes: a stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, sink, coffee pot, dishes for 4, pots, and pans. It's a little small but it works. You can also get a two-bedroom perfect for grandparents and their grandkids.

Love this place, we didn't camp here but we checked everything out and had to buy new propane tanks for our heater, worms for fishing, and yummy hot coffee.

    Zion River Resort

    Cabin review

Check in was fast and smooth. Got the key and remote for the tv then head to the cabin that was around the way from the office/pool area. Sheets was provided for the queen bed but not the bunk beds. Which was fine because we were ready with our own sheets. Rest room and shower was right in front of our cabin, so we didn’t have to walk far. Good ac unit and lighting the with number of windows they got. Overall a great experience from our 1 night stay.

South Campground — Zion National Park

    Great campground

This campground is great for exploring Zion National Park. Each campsite has a fire pit and picnic table. There are restrooms with running water and electricity. Only a short walk from a shuttle station and Visitor’s Center. We also had deer around our campsite every morning and evening.

    Zion RV and Campground (Hi-Road)

    Hi-Road Campground (Zion)

Great campsite right down the road from Zion. Only about $45/night and you get clean nice showers and clean bathrooms. There’s free WiFi, laundry facilities, and a game room. Also a nice little restaurant within walking distance (right across the street). Several campsites to choose from - we picked a more secluded one (although it was very close to other sites and near the highway). Picnic tables, table, grill and fire rings at most sites. Access to showers and bathrooms and other amenities 24/7. Great place to stay and they say they always have spots open for last minute check-ins. Will definitely go back in the future and highly recommend!

Eagle Valley Resort & RV Park

    Eagle Valley Resort

Stayed here in July for a family trip. Rented a small cabin for my mom and adult sons and an RV space for myself and husband. The cabin was surprisingly clean and well maintained. The rest of the park, not so much. Most of the spaces were filled by permanent residents in mostly run down trailers and spaces full of trash and other “stuff”. Dogs and cats were wandering with no leashes. The spaces were small and overgrown with weeds. The picnic tables were falling apart, warped with peeling paint. The bathroom’s were clean but the fixtures were old and mismatched. The store seemed well stocked and actually affordable. The bar was dingy but had a lot of character. The park was for sale so I assume they weren’t interested in maintenance. I’m glad we only paid $25 for the site with the Passport America membership but the $90 for the cabin seemed like a lot. It did allow us to all be together so that bumped up the stars.

South Campground — Zion National Park

    Book ahead of time!

This is by far on of my favorite National Parks. The campground is fairly large (100 + spots) but very hard to secure a spot, make sure to book ahead of time! Zion has some rules about booking ahead so check the website to know when to make a booking. We managed to get a spot last minute but it was a walk in spot. These are a problem if you have a lot of stuff but you can avoid some crowds with them. The views right from the campground are incredible and the rest of the park is overwhelmingly fun.

The campground has plenty of vault toilets, picnic tables, water and trash bins. There are other campgrounds in the park as well as outside if this is full. Caution that the grounds outside the park can be pricey and are nothing special.

    Zion River Resort

    Wonderful Camping Experience!

We camped in one of the cabins for the first night because there was no availability for the campground sites. It was entirely worth the money! The back bunk beds were super cozy & we enjoyed a bed after being in a tent for the precious week. The campground site the next night was wonderful as far as campgrounds go. The ground was level & covered with fine gravel. The sites are not very big & you’re right up next to other campers; but it’s all you need when you spend the majority of the day out in Zion & just come back to eat dinner & sleep. The electricity was nice to have for charging laptops to import/edit photos of the day’s adventures. The showers were a real treat because they were included with the campground. The bathrooms were in the same room as the showers & there were only two rooms, so if two people were showering, you’d be out of luck for using the restroom anytime soon. Other than that, everything was a such a positive experience. There was free coffee in the main building & also a little shop for anything you may have forgotten—the nearest store is about 20 minutes away. All in all, this place is amazing & I would highly recommend.

Guide to Newcastle

Cabin accommodations near Newcastle, Utah range from rustic single-room structures to fully equipped rental units with private bathrooms. Located at 5,000 feet elevation, this high desert region experiences temperature swings of 30-40°F between day and night, particularly in spring and fall. Winter cabin stays often require additional heating sources, while summer visitors seek cabins with shade trees or air conditioning.

What to do

Hiking to waterfalls: The Kanarraville Falls trail begins just one mile from Red Ledge RV Park, where cabins provide a comfortable base for this popular hike. "This campground is perfectly located in Kanarraville, UT. Start with Kanarra Falls, an off the radar slot canyon which is just one mile away," notes camper Keith W.

River access: Some cabin sites offer direct water access for cooling off. At Zion River Resort, cabin guests can enjoy the nearby Virgin River. "There is a creek behind us which we loved and so did our dogs! Friendly neighbors! Beautiful place," writes Isabella M., adding that there are "a lot of off road adventures near by."

Mini golf and recreation: Several cabin-equipped campgrounds feature family activities on-site. "Free miniature golf horseshoes and a pickleball" are available at Hurricane KOA, though one reviewer notes it can be "way too hot to do them" during summer months when temperatures regularly exceed 100°F.

What campers like

Clean shower facilities: Cabins at Cedar Canyon Retreat offer access to exceptionally well-maintained bathroom facilities. "The bathroom and shower is really nice—like new build home nice. Super spacious bathroom and shower," reports Kevin, who stayed in an RV site after initially planning to tent camp.

Proximity to national parks: Many visitors choose cabin rentals as a strategic base for exploring nearby attractions. WillowWind RV Park in Hurricane places guests about 20 minutes from Zion National Park. One visitor praised its "Location in reference to Zion, Bryce, and Cedar Breaks" and noted "At least 3 state parks within a 20 mile radius."

Temperature control: During hot summer months, shaded cabin sites become premium accommodations. "Despite basically being in a desert, the park had lush grass in every spot and a dense tree cover. It was about 10 degrees cooler in the park because of the shade from the trees," noted Jenny W. about her stay at WillowWind.

What you should know

Reservation timing: Camping in cabins near Zion requires advance planning, especially for weekend stays. At South Campground, which offers cabins and yurts, "Reservations can be made two weeks before your stay, and you can only reserve three nights," according to Mary S., who explains the timing strategy for longer visits.

Highway noise: Several cabin locations sit near major roadways. Cedar Canyon Retreat's cabins are "right off of Highway 14 and can be noisy, however we didn't have any issues sleeping," according to Jennifer T., who stayed five nights. Similarly, KOA sites often experience traffic noise from nearby interstates.

Internet connectivity: While some cabin rentals advertise WiFi, actual performance varies significantly. At WillowWind, the WiFi uses an "Access code" system that "works fine on a device but won't work on a smart TV, Roku, Apple TV, etc because they don't have access to a browser," according to Lance S.

Tips for camping with families

Pool access considerations: When booking cabins with children, check pool availability and heating status. At Zion Canyon Campground, families can walk to nearby attractions while having amenities for after-adventure recovery. The site includes "a rec center with a pool table. The staff was awesome & very helpful," according to Timothy T.

Bathroom proximity: For families with young children, choose cabins with nearby bathroom facilities. Kelly H. at Zion River Resort appreciated the "Spacious shower stalls with toilet, sink, bench and shower" and noted the site "has small playground and dog park" which proves convenient for families.

Laundry availability: Extended stays with children often require laundry facilities. At Hurricane KOA, where cabin rentals are available, laundry access is an important amenity. The Willowind RV Park, which offers cabin rentals, provides "2 laundry houses & restroom/showers which were very clean."

Tips from RVers

Cabin alternatives: RVers with experience in the area often recommend cabins for visiting family members or during extreme weather. At Iron Springs Adventure Resort, visitors can choose between bringing their RV or staying in one of the cabins, offering flexibility for mixed camping groups.

Site selection strategy: When booking cabins near Newcastle, prioritize shade coverage during summer months. "Some sites have more shade than others, in the full sun. Later in the day the entire campground is shaded," notes Dave L. about Zion Canyon Campground's cabin and tent sites.

Setup considerations: Many cabin rentals include concrete pads for outdoor seating. "Your site has a lot of space with a fire pit and a table," notes one visitor about South Campground, where each site offers room for outdoor living space regardless of accommodation type.
