Best RV Parks & Resorts near Duck Creek Village, UT

Several RV parks near Duck Creek Village provide full hookup options for motorhomes and travel trailers. Rubys Inn RV Park offers concrete pads suitable for large rigs with 50-amp service, water, and sewer connections. "Overall great rv sites with full hook ups, level sites, some shade trees depending on site," noted one visitor about Rubys Inn. Cedar Canyon Retreat RV Park accommodates smaller RVs with limited hookups and relatively tight spacing between sites. The Riverside Ranch in Hatch remains open year-round with spacious pull-through RV pads that accommodate larger motorhomes, featuring both 50-amp electrical service and sewer hookups.

Most RV parks in the region operate seasonally, with many closing from November through March due to winter conditions. Cell service varies significantly throughout the area, with Verizon typically providing the most consistent coverage. The Mammoth Creek RV Resort maintains eight premium sites with full hookups but prohibits campfires and alcohol. Dump stations are limited in the immediate Duck Creek area; RVers often utilize facilities at nearby state parks for a nominal fee. When traveling between parks, watch for elevation changes and narrow mountain roads that can challenge larger motorhomes. Many parks accept pets but enforce strict leash policies and designated pet areas.

    Zion River Resort

Great park & amenities, close to everything!

We stayed at Zion RV resort in Virgin, Utah just outside Zion National Park and nearby towns in October 2021. This is a very nice full-service RV resort that offers a variety of pull-through and back-in sites, and cabins. The sites are 50amp FHU, fairly long, and have nice spacing between sites. The park is pristine and offers a large inviting pool and hot tub, laundry room, playground, dog runs, propane fill station, and a real lodge with lots of apparel, home goods, ice, beer and other beverage choices. There is access to the Virgin River from the campground. We really enjoyed our stay here just minutes from Zion and other local attractions. The only downside was wifi coverage if you have Verizon. This was spotty and one bar at most. We highly recommend this RV resort. To see videos on this campground and others, visit our YouTube channel: Jeff & Steff’s Excellent Adventure.

    Navajo Lake Campground

    Great family friendly campground

Loved this campground! Plenty of spots, good mix of back in, pull through, and tent. Spots have picnic table and fire rings. Flushing toilets and firewood for purchase. Limited parking for tent spots-one car per spot. Walking access to the lake and beautiful views! No cell service FYI, but 20 min drive to duck creek village where there is a general store, gas station, and cell service

    WillowWind RV Park

Best wifi experience in an RV park

We needed stable, steady Internet for a month. While we regularly travel with two hotspots for Internet coverage, we barely needed to use them.

We stayed in one of the satellite friendly spots. Unfortunately, the space we were in was not so "friendly" due to the mature trees on either side. The satellite friendly spots are in the back of the RV park, and the aisle behind us had newer/younger trees that would not block satellite (but also would provide no shade).

Your experience at this park may vary. There were clearly a lot of monthly/semi-permanent residents at this park, especially on the back in spots at the edges. We would go back here, but we'd get a pull-through site next time.

    Pros:

    - Internet.

    - Location in reference to Zion, Bryce, and Cedar Breaks.

    - Post office (for general delivery) is 2-3 blocks away.

    - Major restaurants and retail stores within 10-15 miles (St. George).

    - At least 3 state parks within a 20 mile radius, two are water sport havens (Sand Hollow and Quail Creek) and the other is hiking trail nirvana (Snow Canyon).

    Cons:

    - No pool on site.

    - Location of trees on RV space meant that we could not use our patio awning for the month. If we positioned our RV to allow us to use the awning, we wouldn't be able to park our tow vehicle at all.

    - Our RV space was in the area with grass between the spaces. Sprinklers were programmed for daily delivery, and because of the width of the concrete pad, we were getting hard water stains on our RV (the sprinkler head pointed directly at our steps out of the RV). We noticed that on some of the "monthly" sites, there were plastic sprinkler head "deterrents" that would keep the spray from overshooting onto the concrete pad.

    Zion West RV Park

    Nice smaller park.

We stayed at Zion West RV park in October 2021. This is a small RV park with a mix of full-time and traveling RVers. It has a variety of sites including pull-through, back-in and tent sites. We had a FHU site with 50 amp service. This park doesn’t offer a lot of amenities, but does have showers and laundry room. It’s in the small town of Leeds, Utah and is about 30 minutes west Zion National Park. It is also near many trails and fun things to do. We enjoyed our stay here and it was quiet and relaxing. We will stay here again next time we visit Zion NP.

    Zion River Resort

Nice RV Park, wifi is slow though

The park itself is nice. Full hook ups, heated pool and hot tub. Restrooms and laundry on site. Propane also on site. There are also a series of fenced in dog parks (3). So if you have dogs that don’t get along with other dogs that’s a plus because you can just go in a different one. The wifi is kind of hit or miss sometimes though. When the park is full at peak times good luck streaming anything. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t spring for the back in river spots unless you just want privacy behind you. The view for us isn’t that great as there is a rock wall behind you so your view is actually of that unless you have a very big rig. It is very close to Springdale and Zion National Park which is very convenient and why we chose it so four stars.

    Duck Creek

    Serene and private

For the most part, I really enjoyed this campground. Though a little difficult to find, the campground is incredibly beautiful and smells amazing. You can also make reservations, and it is recommended. It is tucked into a woodsy area and the sites are very private; it almost felt like we were the only ones there. Each site comes with a picnic table, fire ring, and bear bag hook (yes, this is bear country). The only things I disliked were that the table wasn't movable, and there is a giant patch of cement that took up most of the site space. There are flushable toilets and sinks, but no showers. We went on a hunt to find showers since the website said there were some in town, but were told that there were no longer any available. However, after stopping at the Duck Creek Visitor Center across the highway, we finally found out that there are pay showers at the Pinewoods Resort. They were $5 each for an unlimited amount of time, but beware, the hot water runs out quickly. Duck Creek Village doesn't have too much to offer, but the scenery is beautiful. Also, be sure to make a stop at Navajo Lake, just down the road from Duck Creek Village; the views are breathtaking. Despite our shower adventure, this is definitely a campground I would stay at again.

Bryce Canyon RV Resort by Rjourney

    Come Here Digital Nomads

My wife and I are digital nomads, we run our company where ever we go so it's CRUCIAL that we have comfort items, but most importantly that we have **solid internet. **

We travel with 3 kids (ages 5, 3 & 3), 3 dogs, a cat, and a grandma in our 31' Travel Lite, Evoke Model B with the hopes of a road school education for them. EmpoweringHumansAdventures.com

We booked a deluxe premium site (site 16) and were very pleased with the room, the patio, the fire pit, grill, and nice table.  The parking was gravel and not flat, we had to level up.  Had access to 50 and 30 amp, sewer, and water.  Make sure you use a pressure monitor as the pressure was strong.  They offered firewood for sale and our fire pit was very nice.

We were close to the clubhouse which had coffee daily for a charge. ($1.30)  The store had the basics and all but one of the staff was extremely kind to us. If you need more you could walk to Sinclair and get more items.

They were very specific about dogs being leashed all the time, which we fully agree with.  As a former Marine K9 handler, it's normally not the dog that is the problem, it's the handler.  The dog area is very close to site 16.

The basic internet was blah, we upgraded to the faster speeds for $5.23 a day and it was well worth it.  We were able to stream tv for the kids, work on the laptops and do live video conferencing.  Support was very quick to respond when I asked for speed but they weren't able to give me more, but again it was good enough to get work done, stream and do video conferencing.

Cell coverage was ZERO for Sprint, and have to drive a ½ mile before getting coverage.

Overall the campground was pretty quiet, we are pretty close to the highway so you did have some large/loud trucks that drove by.

There are showers (very small) but the water pressure was great and the water was hot.  Bathrooms are always clean and the laundry was just fine.

We shot a few videos to share our experience and will stay here again.

Mossy Cave was very close and we highly suggest the short hike back to the waterfall.  A little further is the petrefried forest which was also nice.

You can zip over to Bryce Canyon National park ($38 entry fee) for the day.  It's well worth it and there's a ice cream shop just before you go into the park that I recommend.

    Things we loved:

    • The deluxe Premium site is great if you have small kids.

    • Internet was solid and gave us what we needed

    • This campground was extremely clean

    No so much:

    • No cell service

    • Feels very old

    • Road noise

Hope this review helps, we hope to see you on the road!

Watchman Campground — Zion National Park

    Amazing Views

We camped at Watchman for three nights June 19-22,2020. Shuttles are not running and the scenic drive going to the lodge was closed due to COVID-19. We camped in the B loop, site # 51. This was a back-in space complete with a picnic table, fire ring (which we could not use due to fire season) and electrical hook-up. Portable water to fill tanks was available at the dump station just as you enter the campground. Our site was well shaded and very close to the Virgin River. Although available, we didn’t use the bath house.

The campground was full to capacity the whole time we were there. It is important to reserve your site at least 6 Months in advance at this campground!!

The Visitor’s Center and Park Store are within walking distance from the campground. Lots of swimming and tubing going on at the River. Tubes can be rented in Springdale. If you wanted to hike the Narrows or other trails along the scenic drive you had to either hire a shuttle ($30 round trip), bike or walk in. The paid shuttle pick up and return was in Springdale just outside the Park.

Dogs were allowed in the campground on leash and also on ONE trail. All other trails were off limits to pets.

Guide to Duck Creek Village

The Duck Creek Village area offers RV camping options at elevations between 8,000-9,000 feet, providing cooler summer temperatures than nearby lower-elevation campgrounds. Winter snow typically closes many camping areas from November through April, with night temperatures dropping below freezing even in summer months. Local camping experiences often include pine forest settings with limited cellular connectivity in canyon areas.

What to do

Fishing at nearby lakes and streams: Several campgrounds provide access to fishing opportunities within a short drive. Campers staying at Bauers Canyon Ranch RV Park mention the convenient location: "We spent three very pleasant nights here. Kanab is about an hour from the Zion visitors center along the very scenic east entrance to the park. Kanab has a nice outfitters store, grocery stores, and adventure tour companies."

Trail riding with rental options: Some campgrounds offer direct access to horseback riding experiences. At Zion RV and Campground, one visitor noted, "The company offers activities at their ranch. I took a last-minute trail ride."

Stargazing at night: The high elevation and minimal light pollution make this area ideal for astronomy enthusiasts. Dark Sky RV Park & Campground specializes in this experience, with one camper reporting, "The beauty of the night sky will turn your spot into a planetarium."

What campers like

Clean, well-maintained facilities: Campers consistently praise the quality of campground bathrooms in the area. At Cedar Canyon Retreat RV Park and Campground, a reviewer noted, "The bathrooms were incredibly well kept and clean with running toilets, sinks, and showers. This definitely would have been a 5 star campground but I prefer camping in areas where we have a little space from our neighbors."

Proximity to multiple national parks: The central location allows for day trips to several parks. A visitor at The Riverside Ranch shared, "Only 30 minutes from Bryce Canyon and 10 minutes from Red Canyon. We absolutely loved this place and will definitely stay again if we come back to the area."

Fishing opportunities: Many visitors appreciate access to fishing without leaving their campsite. "Fishing in this little creek was great. Even though the creek was small there were some BIG trout!" observed one camper at The Riverside Ranch.

What you should know

Winter weather limitations: Many campgrounds close completely during winter months. The Kanab RV Corral operates seasonally from "Feb 15 - Nov 15" while Bauers Canyon Ranch RV Park runs from "Mar 1 to Nov 1."

Variable cellular coverage: Signal strength differs significantly between providers and locations. A camper at Kanab RV Corral reported, "I streamed Netflix off their wifi," while another visitor at Zion RV and Campground noted, "No cell phone reception (Verizon). WiFi in the main building but doesn't reach the campsites unless you are super close."

Road noise considerations: Some campgrounds experience highway traffic sounds. One Cedar Canyon Retreat visitor mentioned it's "right off Highway 14 which is the main route into Cedar Breaks and continuing onto Brian Head and can get a bit noisy."

Tips for camping with families

Recreation amenities: Look for campgrounds with built-in activities for children. A visitor to Dark Sky RV Park noted, "I have 3 kids they LOVE the zipline," and another mentioned, "There are a lot of activities for the kids or active adults (basketball, teether ball, corn hole, and swings)" at The Riverside Ranch.

Swimming options: Pools provide relief from summer heat. "The pool was closed for the season but looked nice," observed one Kanab RV Corral visitor, indicating seasonal availability of swimming facilities.

Pet accommodations: Many campgrounds welcome pets but have specific areas and rules. "They have a big grassy dog park for him to run and play in, he loves running in the sprinklers! It's two sided and completely fenced in so large and small breeds can have their own safe space to play in," reported one camper at Mammoth Creek RV Resort.

Tips from RVers

Site leveling challenges: Some RV pads require significant adjustment. One RVer at St. George/Hurricane KOA Journey warned, "We had to raise one side 6 inches to get sorta level."

Hookup placement variations: Electric and water connections aren't always centrally located. A camper at Rubys Inn RV Park observed, "The hookups on our sites were more to one end of the site and not so much in the middle of the site which was not a problem for any of us."

Mount Carmel Tunnel restrictions: RVers traveling to Zion should note tunnel limitations. "The only thing inconvenient is that you have to go through the Mt Carmel tunnel to reach Zion NP. And this tunnel is opened for oversized vehicles between 8.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. So keep that in mind!" advised a visitor at Mount Carmel Motel & RV Park.
