    Mission City RV Park

    Cream of the Crop

You don't get a much nicer RV park than this in a major city. It hits all of the marks: mass transit at your doorstep; pool, laundry, showers and a gift shop at the entrance; easy pull-through, level sites; picnic tables at each site; quaint southwestern style! This is a nice park for the overnight or the long stay, and it has easy access to major highways.

Hill Country RV Resort & Cottage Rentals

Nice Park with little room between sites

The park it’s self is nice and clean.  Staff for the most part is friendly and nice.  The pool is a hopping place over summer break and on the weekends when it’s warm.  RV sites are tight in the daily/weekly sites and parking your 40+ foot rig and tow vehicle in the spot are probably not happening.  They do have over flow parking and depending on your site it could be a good walk.

They are pet friendly and have several dog parks and potty areas through out the park.  The laundry room is like no other I’ve ever been too.  All machines operate via debit/credit cards, no more quarters!!

Over all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this park for monthly stays or in one of their top tier sites for daily/weekly stays.

    Alsatian RV Resort

    Exceptional Customer Service

This campground(CG)/RV resort has exceptional customer service. We were on a waitlist to add another day to our reservation. They proactively called us back about a month later to let us know they could accommodate another night’s stay. We followed the website instructions to come in so we could take a right turn into the RV Resort, which is a 1/4 mile from the golf course entrance. A very short rig could take a left turn. The gate was down so we called the number listed on the gate and we were let in for a very pleasant check-in. We were assigned pull-through site 406 with FHUs. There’s a slope off the front of the site, so I needed to center the rig on the level part of the cement pad. By doing this I needed 20’ of sewer hose to get from my rear black tank to the sewer. The CG was quiet with no kids running around as this is a 55+ CG. The guest internet was below average for a park this size, but we have Starlink. We got 3 bars on Verizon. Most of the campers here were seasonal with license plates from CO, MN, and WI. Several of the campers we talked to didn’t golf and came here to get away from cold weather. We did not see any overnighters during our four-day stay but this CG is fairly far from the San Antonio area interstates. CG was well-kept with no junky sites. They have a laundry room, but a couple of machines were not working. The sites were decently spaced and very long. Many reviewers called the sites spacious. The sites were not as far apart or as large when compared to many of the State Parks or Corps of Engineers CGs we’ve stayed. Get pizza from Luigi's Italian Restaurant in nearby Castroville as it’s in the top 5 pizzas we’ve had as we traveled through all lower 48 states. We enjoyed our stay, including playing their challenging golf course, and would definitely return.

    Fort Sam Houston Army RV

    Good trip!

All the sites are pull-through with full hookups(30 and 50 amp), and spacious enough for even the largest rigs. The grass was freshly mowed, and the park was clean. Staff were super friendly. There's a decent dog run at the back, propane available for purchase on-site, and two wash houses with washers and dryers. A large playground keeps the little ones entertained. Despite many full-timers, there were still plenty of open spots. It was very quiet—aside from the occasional train, which isn’t noticeable with the A/C running. Would be a 5-star stay if there were just a bit more shade [geometry dash 3d](https://geometrydash3d.com).

    Summit Vacation Resort

    Texas Camping at its finest

We loved the quiet and peace of this RV Resort nestled in Texas Hill Country.

The Park: they have a large pool area with cafe and snacks. The property is large and spaces are spread out through out the park. The big draw is the Guadalupe River, Canyon Lake, and the woods and hills.

They have hot shoes, bath houses, laundry.

The sites: Gravel and mostly level, very few sites were unlevel. You’re surrounded by hills so it is nice and quiet. They are full hook up sites. Each site had a fire ring and picnic table. Small deer herds would move through the park each evening. Many of the campers feed them corn and they know the sounds and come running out of the hills.

The campground is near grocery and hardware stores. Within an hour are several bigger towns with more stores.

Cellular: T-Mobile was decent but not great. They do have Campground WiFi that worked faster.

    Kerrville-Schreiner Park

    Good family friendly park

This park was close to a local event we wanted to attend, and we were very happy with it and will definitely go back. The first row is all pull through sites with full hookups, although we do have a shorter trailer (24’) and I’m not sure how much luck you would have with a truly big one. Most sites had a stone or wood picnic table, shady trees, and a fire ring. We saw a deer, squirrels, and even a herd of blackbuck antelope. Our particular site was number 121 and it had a feral cat shelter, which we saw several of the cats and one caretaker stop by. There are hiking trails and the park itself is minutes from many nearby attractions. My husband checked out the camp bathrooms for me for this review and he said they were smaller but clean and acceptable.

Overall a comfortable little park, sites not overcrowded together, and reasonably priced. Good job Kerrville.

Guide to Shavano Park

RV camping near Shavano Park, Texas offers convenient access to both urban amenities and outdoor recreation. Located on the northwestern edge of San Antonio at an elevation of approximately 1,070 feet, this area experiences mild winters and hot summers with average July temperatures reaching the mid-90s. Cell service varies between parks, with some locations near Canyon Lake reporting strong Verizon and AT&T coverage with speeds exceeding 10Mbps.

What to do

Riverfront trails access: At Travelers World RV Resort, campers can access miles of bike and walking paths along the San Antonio River. "The easy access to the river affords you miles and miles of bike and walking paths. The sites are spacious, and well maintained," reports Troy.

Historical site exploration: Multiple campgrounds provide convenient bases for visiting San Antonio landmarks. "Located about 5 miles from The Alamo and Riverwalk. Both are a must see. We spent 3 days here and this park did not disappoint," shares Kirk J. at Travelers World RV Resort.

Wildlife observation: Thousand Trails Medina Lake offers ample opportunities to view deer that frequently approach campers. "Deer walk around the park all day and night," notes Eric F., while another camper mentions, "Deer will literally eat feed out of your hands."

What campers like

Security features: Many parks offer gated access for added safety. At Mission City RV Park, "The park is gated and beautifully maintained. There is a heated pool, spacious pet area with benches and toys for your furry friends," according to Carlyne F.

Transportation options: Several parks feature nearby public transit. "Bus stop across the street will take you downtown," notes Diane at Travelers World RV Resort, providing an alternative to driving into San Antonio.

Clean facilities: Fort Sam Houston Army RV receives praise for its upkeep. "All the sites are pull through, have full hook ups (30 and 50) and are big enough to park the largest of rigs. Grass was all mowed and park was clean," reports Steven V.

What you should know

Seasonal RV park demographics: Winter brings significant population changes to area campgrounds. "Even with all the full timers, there were plenty of open spaces," notes Steven V. about Fort Sam Houston Army RV.

Highway noise considerations: Alamo Fiesta RV Resort sits near a major highway. "The front area is a little close to Hwy 281 so there's a little road noise but not bad," notes one camper. Another mentions, "The highway in front of the campground is under construction, so where it would normally be an easy off easy on, it's a little tricky getting in and out with the bigger rigs."

Security concerns: Some areas have reported theft issues. "When we pulled into our site the lady next door told us to make sure we lock up our bikes. They have had theirs stolen in the past," cautions Jennifer B. about one San Antonio location.

Tips for camping with families

Look for family activities: Texas 281 RV Park offers numerous recreational options. "Billiards, Ping Pong, Horseshoes, Shuffleboard" are available, along with a "Basketball court" and a "Nature Trail" according to Denise V.

Check pool availability: During hot Texas summers, pools become essential. "The pool was smaller in size but very clean and well kept," notes Oiram N. about one park, while another camper mentions "a heated pool" as a valuable amenity.

Consider playground quality: Some parks have better play areas than others. At one location, a camper observed "the playground was okay but the dog parks were nicer," suggesting families with children should inquire about playground conditions before booking.

Tips from RVers

Check site leveling: Site conditions vary across parks. At Stone Creek RV Park, "Sites are not well level but most of them have a gazebo," notes Reynolds O.

Water pressure management: Some parks have unusually high water pressure. "High water pressure; you'll need a pressure regulator. They sell them at the office!" advises Diane at Travelers World RV Resort.

Site surface considerations: Different parks offer varying site surfaces. "Park has asphalt streets, but gravel sites. Mix of pull through & back in sites. Some sites have a small picnic shelter on a concrete pad," explains Terri W. about Stone Creek RV Park.
