Fun Summer Camp!

Being a San Antonio native, it was nice to visit a State Park in my old backyard! Nightly Dances are great for all ages! Especially loved hearing the Camp’s theme song! Asked a female ranger for suggestions where to put down my yoga mat. She let me know a sweet place by the River between the…

Rio Frio 460

This site was located 2 sites away from a wide road to the river. We took our kayak down this path on wheels (would’ve been a hassle without the kayak carrier). The site also has a narrow game trail to the water. The bathroom is a short hike away through the shortcut up the nearby hill. Slept with…

Lovely, Lovely, lovely little campground

Love this place. It has so many hidden treasures. Ponds, trails, cabins, swings, pool tables, a small stage for performances…. But more than that, an outstanding staff that keeps it all running smoothly.

  • Swings by the pond. Pond is stocked with fish!
  • Living on the edge of the infinity pool
  • Doggies at the top of the resort

Great space in Bandera

We camped here Memorial Day. The staff was very friendly and the sites were clean with sewer hook ups. It had rained so the site was pretty flooded, but we made the best of it. There are a lot of things to do for kids and the pool was not too crowded.

Lovely park with a bit of everything

We stayed in the Live Oak camping loop which has spacious sites and RV hookups. The park has great hiking with some trails basically going straight up to the tops of the surrounding hills. Be sure to check out the caves and the view from Old Baldy. We saw plenty of birds and even turkeys! The river…

Enjoyed the Hill Country Beauty

Garner is a lovely park and February is a great time to visit if you are there to camp and hike. Our site ended up being too tight for our slides to open fully (because of trees on either side). We ended up having to leave one closed because of a storm that came through at night. Low hanging…

Summer Tradition

Garner is a magical place full of summertime memories for many TX families. We love to have a picnic and rent kayaks. This is a must-do park in Hill Country. Fun for the whole family, but gets crazy packed in the summer.

Wonderful Family Campground

So far, one of my favorite TX State Parks. Great for landscape photography, swimming in the clear Frio River, biking and hiking.

Sweet spot on the Frio

We stayed one night and we loved it! It left us wanting more. The area of river that you can get into was shallow and perfect for kids to play but deep enough to kayak or paddleboard.

Tent camping

Great place to take family. The more populated areas tend to have a lot of littering around though :(
