Has endless trails to hike. Home like vibe and stay. Has a store and even dances in summer. Has a small laundry and rentals for water items. You can rv, cabin, or tent even!! Book ahead, most often booked out!!
I tent camped for several days here. The staff are helpful, bathrooms are super clean with soap, decent water pressure and everything is so well kept. I was thoroughly impressed and will be back to try the other sites. I stayed at turtle falls. It was so peaceful listening to the water all night.
Had a blast here can't wait to go back... Wife and I spent the night check things out and definitely bringing the kids/ family, everyone here was so helpful and friendly.
We have been coming to Neal’s for years, but have always stayed in their cabins. We had a change of plans for a trip (thank you Hurricane Beryl) and were lucky enough to get in at Neal’s. Had an amazing time, and changed our upcoming cabin reservation to an RV site!
Very friendly, close walk to the town and facilities very clean
Stayed in my RV over Memorial weekend. Small rv campground, so book early. Overlooks and has access to Medina river.
The owners are extremely kind and helpful, even providing corn to feed the deer.
But don't tell anyone, let's leave this our little secret.
I stayed here for a few days during the eclipse. Good site but a little noisy.
We visited in the off season and the place was pretty empty. The only service is AT&T. Great hiking and nice river views.
Staff was very friendly and did everything to attend to our needs
Had a private party out there and it was amazing - staff was so helpful and I got with them in advance - rented the deck and the jacuzzi for a private night! They set it up so romantic- it is something I will never forget!
We had a friends and family reunion of sorts here at the campgrounds for 5 days and it was the most amazing experience of our trip! We stayed in one of the cabins, a tiny home and utilized on RV hookup as well! So we got a picture of pretty much everything they offer. It was PERFECT to say the least! Water pressure was great! I have super thick hair and worry about being able to wash it thoroughly, but their bathrooms were just right! The AC's kept the cabin the perfect temperature for the hotter times of the day and at night or early mornings, you kept toasty warm. The grounds themselves were huge and you can set up a volleyball net as well as barbecue. If you wanted to lounge with other guests, you could in the common areas, or you can stick to yourselves as well, the place was so huge. The water was clear and cool and so very inviting! My son did cannon bombs of the cliff jump! Do not recommend that though:/... the women brought our inner tubes and laid out with our drinks soaking in the warm sun. Brandon and Sachi were the perfect hosts and I definitely plan on coming back year after year to experience this treasured place. Mahalo!
We spent a wonderful time at this campground. The cabins and facilities are clean and cozy. The river was so relaxing and clean. Nice little town, too! Highly recommended and hope to return again soon!
Quiet, small park without showers or bathrooms. Most residents are long term. Gravel roads/pads well graded. Internet is spotty at best. First night I watched football and movie with minor buffering, next day and night I couldn't get service. Ok if you're in a pinch but that's about it.
We loved this campground. Lots of places to walk & saw wildlife every day. Restrooms were clean & very nice. The washers are bigger than a lot of RV parks too. The staff is very friendly & accommodating. We extended our stay 3 times! If you're in the Texas hill country, this is definitely the place to stay.
Jake from the Dyrt here! Redneck Paradise is a little off the beaten path, so be prepared with 4x4, but its worth the extra effort to see this spot! Check them out and share some pics from your stay on the Dyrt!
Camp host made sure to wake us up the first thing that morning about our lack of hangtag . We were just staying the night while traveling .There were none at the gate and the office was closed . Dumpsters very 100’ along the campground roads . I bet this place is a zoo in the summer . Decent showers and the gift shop / store was nice as was the lady running it . Not sure I would return because of the rude state park staff though .. to bad , nice access to the river ..
the balance of sun and shade is perfect!
PROS. The park is a must during autumn. The leaves change color and great weather. Wonderful hiking trails.
CONS. Park ranger(lady) was very rudely and racist towards us made the trip to be okay. I hope others don’t get the same treatment.
Lastly, I will say it’s a beautiful park go and enjoy.
Loved site 6 was spacious and really close to the river. Enjoyed how shallow and deep this part of river can be, definitely a great spot if Garner is full. The restroom were not the greatest but have no complains it has a toilets and showers.
The tent area is well shaded, water at each site and power by the bath house. Bath house is concrete floors but the water is hot and the facilities sufficient. Love the live oaks and the manager John is a great guy.
This park is under new ownership and they are extremely nice! They have also made several park improvements!
The new owners are great as well as the park improvements!
The area is in a small valley so the spots are cramped together. The park itself, is beautiful. I was here on a Spring break night, so it was very busy. I’m not sure if I should complain about the following since it’s not the park’s fault. My neighbor kept using my electrical outlets (and water). This wouldn’t be a problem if I didn’t need to use it myself. I tried to ask them, but they didn’t speak English. I know they are not mine, but it’s aggravating. The park host was not answering their door. Then, later, they started their charcoal with diesel fuel which was right next to my truck RV window. This was the charcoal they used for cooking! SMH. There is no cell signal, there is wifi right at the visitor center.
I've camped at Frio River at least 20 times over the past 10 years the last time was just recently with the covid it was great big rocks little rocks Sandy area there are several places where you can throw down a tent so just bring your imagination
Ashley here from The Dyrt! It was great to add this property. It’s a family-owned business that’s been around for 50 years. Let’s help them out and leave some reviews!
Ashley here with The Dyrt. We're happy to have this property on our platform. 3 different types of camping experiences to choose from. All sites have access to hot showers, bathrooms and a communal kitchen. Check them out and leave them some love.
Breaking in our new TAB 400 and wanted to stay somewhat local first time out. This campground is primarily RV spots- full hookups and some tent and cabin areas along the Guadalupe. Pull through a and back ins. Very quiet and nice location just outside of town (Kerrville, TX- recommend the Rails Cafe if you get tired of camp cookin’)
Not much privacy between the spots so expect conversations with friendly and like-minded neighbors. Bath- showers - laundry available tho it’s a bit of a walk to get to from just sites. Kayak - paddle board rentals available too.
