    Mission City RV Park

    Cream of the Crop

You don't get a much nicer RV park than this in a major city. It hits all of the marks: mass transit at your doorstep; pool, laundry, showers and a gift shop at the entrance; easy pull-through, level sites; picnic tables at each site; quaint southwestern style! This is a nice park for the overnight or the long stay, and it has easy access to major highways.

Hill Country RV Resort & Cottage Rentals

Nice Park with little room between sites

The park it’s self is nice and clean.  Staff for the most part is friendly and nice.  The pool is a hopping place over summer break and on the weekends when it’s warm.  RV sites are tight in the daily/weekly sites and parking your 40+ foot rig and tow vehicle in the spot are probably not happening.  They do have over flow parking and depending on your site it could be a good walk.

They are pet friendly and have several dog parks and potty areas through out the park.  The laundry room is like no other I’ve ever been too.  All machines operate via debit/credit cards, no more quarters!!

Over all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this park for monthly stays or in one of their top tier sites for daily/weekly stays.

    Fort Sam Houston Army RV

    Good trip!

All the sites are pull-through with full hookups(30 and 50 amp), and spacious enough for even the largest rigs. The grass was freshly mowed, and the park was clean. Staff were super friendly. There's a decent dog run at the back, propane available for purchase on-site, and two wash houses with washers and dryers. A large playground keeps the little ones entertained. Despite many full-timers, there were still plenty of open spots. It was very quiet—aside from the occasional train, which isn’t noticeable with the A/C running. Would be a 5-star stay if there were just a bit more shade [geometry dash 3d](https://geometrydash3d.com).

    Summit Vacation Resort

    Texas Camping at its finest

We loved the quiet and peace of this RV Resort nestled in Texas Hill Country.

The Park: they have a large pool area with cafe and snacks. The property is large and spaces are spread out through out the park. The big draw is the Guadalupe River, Canyon Lake, and the woods and hills.

They have hot shoes, bath houses, laundry.

The sites: Gravel and mostly level, very few sites were unlevel. You’re surrounded by hills so it is nice and quiet. They are full hook up sites. Each site had a fire ring and picnic table. Small deer herds would move through the park each evening. Many of the campers feed them corn and they know the sounds and come running out of the hills.

The campground is near grocery and hardware stores. Within an hour are several bigger towns with more stores.

Cellular: T-Mobile was decent but not great. They do have Campground WiFi that worked faster.

Canyon Lake Military - Randolph AFB

We love it here. Not for everyone.

We started with day passes, then graduated to renting out the loft cabins, then tried tent camping, and eventually and recently parked our travel trailer in the reservable RV spaces. All in the same vicinity. Made great memories at each stay.

Pro’s: Best rate in town for military (active, retired, $ disabled). Water is beautiful. Fishing can be fantastic. Lots of water activities available for rent or bring your own. Pet friendly, Great for families, most people are very respectful and wonderful to talk to. Good food and stores nearby. Lots of wildlife. Quiet. Close to town and short drive from San Antonio.

Cons: Hard to get ahold of staff to make reservations. Market is extremely expensive and staff isn’t very friendly. Lost and lots of fire ants.

We recommend it to all of our friends and family and bring them often. We love staying in the loft cabins. Some are pet friendly. We have stayed in the mobile homes on the other side of the lake once but that was not a great experience as our things were stolen off our table and covered patio (on Veterans Day) and they were only left unattended for 15 min or less. The mobile home wasn’t very nice but functional at least.

    Sienna Ridge RV Park

Great quiet park for those not looking for a lot of extra amenities

Quiet clean park with great, friendly staff.  $17 a day is based on $525 monthly rate. Common bath house and laundry is always clean and ready to use. No amenities such as pool or hot tub or overhead RV shades. Wide, mostly level, gravel pull thru and back in sites. Sites up on the hill get a nice breeze and feel secluded. Many are monthly residents but all RVs and spots are kept clean and friendly! Close to the lake, local rivers and 20min drive to New Braunfels. Sitting right in hill country gives amazing views and drives in all directions.

    Stone Creek RV Park

    Average RV Park

Good location along I35. Park has asphalt streets, but gravel sites. Mix of pull through & back in sites. Some sites have a small picnic shelter on a concrete pad. Full hookups with all utilities working as expected. Friendly, attentive staff. Nice, clean laundry room with new machines. Wifi is unsecured & so slow it’s useless. Phone reception is also poor. Located next to a horse lot with several horses so the odor is strong. (Our site was very close to horse stable). Park sits next to heavily used railroad tracks, frequent train whistles at all hours. There are many full timers, some units in need of upkeep with junk piled around campers. There was quite a bit of litter discarded along the creek that runs through the park (which was dry during our visit January 2021).

What campers like

Well-maintained facilities: Travelers World RV Resort consistently receives praise for cleanliness. "Very quiet, clean with fun activities. Movies to borrow and books to read. Staff is great, great location," notes one reviewer.

Recreational amenities: Some parks offer extensive on-site activities. One visitor at Canopy Luxury RV Resort stated, "Great rotation of food trucks and activities for kids. 100% recommended for a RV Resort stay."

Dog-friendly environments: Multiple locations accommodate pets with dedicated areas. "The 2 dog parks (split into 2 sections each for small and large...so 4 dog parks) really helped keep our dogs entertained," reports a camper at Canopy Luxury RV Resort.

Natural surroundings: River-adjacent sites provide scenic settings. At River Shade RV Park, a visitor noted, "We camped here for 5 nights. The park is small and there are quite a few full timers here, but it is well kept and quiet. We had a site very close to the river (2nd row) which offered a great view."

What you should know

Security considerations: Safety measures vary between locations. A camper at Mission City RV Park observed, "You don't get a much nicer RV park than this in a major city. Security is excellent and everyone is given a unique code for the car gate."

Noise factors: Train tracks affect several parks. At Landa RV Park & Campground, campers should "be prepared for train noise at all hours." Similarly, at Stone Creek RV Park, reviewers report "frequent train whistles at all hours."

Swimming options: Several parks maintain pools for children. "The park is gated and beautifully maintained. There is a heated pool, spacious pet area with benches and toys for your furry friends," notes a visitor to Mission City RV Park.

Safety precautions: Be aware of location-specific concerns. One camper warned, "This park is in a bad part of town. When we pulled into our site the lady next door told us to make sure we lock up our bikes. They have had theirs stolen in the past."

Nature exploration: Look for parks with nature access. "Beautiful trees throughout and family friendly. Perfect weather and place," states a visitor to San Marcos River Resort.

Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: Choose carefully based on specific needs at Fort Sam Houston Army RV. "All the sites are pull through, have full hook ups (30 and 50) and are big enough to park the largest of rigs. Would be 5 stars if there was a little more shade," advises one RVer.

Seasonal considerations: Summer requires planning for heat management. "There are beautiful huge trees in the park and most sites have ample shade," notes a camper at River Shade RV Park.

Leveling preparation: Site terrain varies between parks. A visitor to Stone Creek RV Park observed, "Sites are not well level but most of them have a gazebo," indicating the need for leveling equipment.

Length of stay flexibility: Some parks accommodate schedule changes. "We stayed three weeks here after being caught in the Texas Arctic vortex. They were very accommodating considering we extended our stay twice," reports an RVer at Stone Creek RV Park.
