45 minutes away from Mount Rushmore

Google maps tells you to turn where there isn’t a turn but it’s not too hard to find. We slept in our truck but there is bumpy ground, not ideal for tenting. Thunderstorm prone. Camp near tree line if you’re worried. Open field and deeper forest options. Would stay here again.

Quiet and open

Lots of space. Quiet with no traffic. Google gets you close but not exactly there. Gps route was a little off. Just an hour from Rushmore.

Unsure if accessible

A fence closed off road so we didn’t try it. After you start in the road changes to a two track with grass between them. We didn’t want to risk getting stuck in the bus.
