Gravel road with a few flat sites that are level. Very Quiet except for some distant road noise. There is litter scattered about. Overall a good overnight stop.
Cute little park we really enjoyed it!
I was impressed by the cleanliness and the amenities available at this campground. There’s a dog park, splash pad and climbing wall(hours depend on the time of year) There are also walking trails and a way to access the water.
Lots of room at the site so even if it was busy, still wouldn’t be too close to neighbors!
This well known roadside attraction, South of the Border, has a hidden gem of a campground! They have a lot of sites, from back-ins to pull-throughs, full hook-ups, nightly rates from about $49 including tax (with discounts, and they offer a few). Nice sites with picnic tables and grills, we saw three bathhouses (clean!), and a coin-operated laundry. Entire campground is gated with security, and there are restaurants, shops, and gas stations. Quiet, fun, just off I-95 at the SC/NC border.
The drive in was smooth, dirt road but smooth if your driving at night.
Big open space where the boat ramp is, spots that are tucked away in the trees are sandy terrain and heard you can get stuck.
Be vigilant, heard there may be a woman searching for food. Otherwise everyone coming there early are fisherman.
A little noise from the road but it is a beautiful spot.
We stayed at Standing Pines RV Park in Hartsville, South Carolina and were really impressed. This is a newer park, but you can tell the owners put a lot of care into the property. The grounds are clean, quiet, and surrounded by tall trees, which creates a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere while still being close to town. The sites are level, spacious, and easy to back into. Full hookups worked perfectly. Cell service was strong enough for remote work and streaming. The park roads are wide and well maintained, which makes everything simple when arriving or setting up. The overall vibe is calm, safe, and welcoming. The owners are helpful and available without being intrusive. It already feels like a comfortable home base and it is clear the park is being built the right way. If you are passing through Hartsville, working in the area, or looking for a quiet place to stay for a while, Standing Pines RV Park is a great choice. Very clean, very relaxing, and we will definitely return.
This was awesome... Great location, close to town, restaurants, Darlington Nascar track, 2 lake's, water park. We were looking to relax and we did.
For us this was a pleasant little stopover after a long drive. Nicely located next to a lake, there is also a nice little walk partially around the lake. It is a small campground with nice spots. The hosts where active and there if you wanted advice. At the campground you can't swim, but you can walk 10 minutes to a beachy area on the other site of the lake.

Kayaking opportunities: Several campgrounds offer water-based activities including CrossRoads Coach Resort which is near paddling options. "Crossroads is one of the best RV resort campgrounds we have been to. Staff are polite and very helpful, resort is extremely clean, quiet, well maintained and secure," according to one visitor.
Nature trails exploration: The trail system at several parks provides opportunities for hiking and wildlife viewing. "We hiked the nature trail and wetlands boardwalk and other trails on a hour-long walk before hitting the road," one camper mentioned about their experience at a local park.
Private, spacious sites: Swamp Fox Campground offers larger campsites than many competitors. "The grounds are well maintained and the sites are very large. Bathrooms are smartly decorated like the 50's probably because they're older-nice touch," reports one reviewer.
Budget-friendly amenities: Several campgrounds offer excellent value. "For the price it was worth it. The WiFi was super strong and allowed us to stream movies," according to one Swamp Fox visitor.
Clean facilities: Poinsett State Park Campground maintains exceptionally clean bathrooms. "On the topic of the bathroom, the toilets were CLEAN! And I mean we were there for 24 hours and the bathroom was cleaned at least twice," notes one impressed camper.
Weather considerations: Summer heat can be intense from June through August with temperatures regularly above 90°F and high humidity. "It was probably not the best idea to stay here during the summer time. July? Hottest month of the year? South Carolina? The bugs were massive," one Poinsett visitor warned.
Train noise impacts: Some campgrounds have railroad proximity issues. "Campground is located near very busy rail road. Trains go by every few hours and are very loud," cautions a Crossroads Coach Resort reviewer.

Site selection for privacy: At Lynches River County Park, certain sites offer more seclusion. "Booking is easy, and staff are very friendly. Most of the sites are in the center of a loop road. Sites 1 & 2 have power and are outside the loop. Site 1 is back in, 2 is pull thru. Sites 8 & 9 are outside the loop and the most 'remote', with 9 being more-so."
Hookup availability: Many campgrounds offer full hookups, but capacity varies. "Sites at Florence RV Park provide concrete pads. Easy access to camp. Lake city is a small town with lots of shops to visit," notes one reviewer.
Weather-related challenges: Drainage can be an issue at some parks during heavy rain. "Stopped here last year on the way back north from Florida. It was raining and our spot was a mud bog. Drainage was terrible in the park with many spots underwater," cautions a Swamp Fox camper.
