Best Cabin Camping near Georgetown, SC

Cabin rentals along South Carolina's coastal area near Georgetown include options at Huntington Beach State Park Campground and Hidden Marina & Campground. Huntington Beach cabins offer electrical service and basic amenities for overnight stays near the ocean, while Hidden Marina's cabins are positioned along the Sampit River with water access. According to one visitor, "They have really nice cabins on the water. A boat ramp and marina for boats. Really great place to stay if you want to fish around Georgetown SC or just explore the history of Georgetown." Most units include standard beds, basic furniture, and access to shared bathroom facilities, though amenities vary significantly between locations.

Rustic and deluxe cabins are both available, depending on the location. The Francis Marion National Forest offers more secluded cabin accommodations with limited utilities, while oceanfront options are found at Myrtle Beach Travel Park and Ocean Lakes Family Campground. KOA-style cabins can be booked at Mount Pleasant-Charleston KOA and Myrtle Beach KOA, typically featuring more comprehensive amenities including air conditioning. One camper noted about Hidden Marina cabins: "The cabins are not well kept and you need to bring your own toilet paper and sheets. They are not cleaned very well either." Most cabins permit pets, though specific restrictions may apply depending on the campground.

Most cabins require visitors to bring their own linens, towels, and toiletries. Hidden Marina's cabins have minimal furnishings, while KOA cabins typically include more amenities but still require personal items. On-site camp stores at locations like Huntington Beach State Park and Myrtle Beach KOA provide basic supplies, though selection is limited. Food Lion grocery stores are accessible from most Georgetown-area cabin locations for more extensive provisioning. Cooking facilities vary widely between properties - some offer only outdoor grills or fire pits, while others include small kitchenettes with basic appliances. Water quality concerns have been noted at some facilities, with one camper reporting that at Hidden Marina "the water smells like rotten eggs or rotten meat on any given day."

    Perfect ocean front spot

Very nice park! We had ocean front spot site 695. Spot was sandy and looked a little sketchy to back into, looks as if someone got stuck. We ended up backing up just fine with no problems and pulled out just fine as well. Bathrooms were close and very clean, great water pressure. They pick your trash right at your spot every morning. Had a minor electrical problem, called and they were right there vey quick and fixed the issue. Lots of things to do, Pool, lazy river, splash pad, and kayak/peddle boats. Putt putt cost money but it’s available. Gulf cart rentals as well. The ocean beach is so beautiful and it was not busy. Just a perfect spot. I recommend going to Broadway on the beach for things to do in the area.

We did how ever have family fly in and rented a cabin. Sharon from the office was not so friendly she only deals with cabin rentals so if your here to camp in campground it’s a great place!

    Myrtle Beach KOA

    Rustic Cabin Check in delay

We just visited the Myrtle Beach KOA and stayed in one of their rustic camping cabins. First the good — The staff we dealt with were pleasant and helpful. The campground was generally clean and there was a reasonable amount of space between the sites. Now the bad — we arrived at 4:30pm to check in and found that the camp store closed at 4:00pm - everyday. For those who forgot something or needed to pick up some ice or other necessity, you would have to leave the campground to get it. Second; upon arrival (4:30) we were told that none of the rustic cabins were ready and to come back in an hour. Not a great way to be welcomed. Next, the shower/bath house appeared clean but there was a distinct smell that made it feel like it might not have been that clean. Finally, the KOA is right downtown, so there is a good deal of noise from outside the campground. Lots of sirens, fireworks, and engine noise from US 17(Business). Final analysis: We really don’t like Myrtle Beach (too much of a tourist trap) and we probably wouldn’t come back. We were only there because I had some work to do in the area and needed a less expensive place to stay.

    Huntington Beach State Park Campground

Nice large sites close to the beach

Don’t confuse this campground with Hunting Island (many people do). Although expensive, the sites here are very generous in size. Sites on the outside of the loop have more privacy (sites 1-33 have trees behind them for even more privacy).

The restrooms and showers are clean.

There are multiple access points to a very walkable or runnable beach. No bike rentals on-site but there is a local bike shop that will deliver to your site. Tours of Atalaya available plus other programs (although we didn’t take advantage of these). There is a large store with many souvenirs along with general necessities. If you order three or more bundles of firewood, they will deliver to your site.

It would have been nice to have a utility sink to wash dishes in as there are in other state parks. Also, like all other South Carolina state parks, alcohol is prohibited.

Although I usually take many photos at our campgrounds, for some reason, I didn't here!

    Myrtle Beach KOA

    Nice stopover

We only stayed here one night as we were traveling to points south. It was February, so not packed full, but a fair amount of “winter camping” enthusiasts in the park. Typical of a KOA, sites are rather closely packed. It’s very nicely wooded for the most part and there are a variety of options to be had, including camping cabins. There are also luxury rv sites that have cement pads with patios, grills and patio furniture along with full hookups. We happened to be there after a period of heavy rain and there were large puddles and some sites partially flooded, so there might be some drainage issues. The bathhouse was acceptable, not really new, basic but clean with lots of hot water. A few blocks from the beach, but they have a shuttle (in-season) and golf carts to rent. I imagine it’s a very busy place during peak season. Friendly check-in with a helpful escort to the site. Camp store, laundry, games and play areas for kids also available.

    Awesome Camping Cabins

We stayed in the camping cabins and loved them! The bathroom was super clean, the sites were very nice and the waterway and amenities were really awesome! Lots of places close by to eat at but this feels so tucked away all at the same time.

    Ocean Lakes Family Campground

    Nice beachside campground

One big campground with a lot of amenities. Nice people. Good size sites with concret pads and patio that accommodate larger rigs but the roads between the sites can be tight. Kid and pet friendly. Wish it had a dog park. Very large camp store, large laundry facility and water park. Very fairly price considering the he amenities. We’ll be back.

    WE love this place

You are a sand dune away from the ocean, you pass over a causeway to get to the SP and Campground.  There are alligators on both sides of the causeway, multiple birds lurking and flying in and out along the causeway with viewing places.  The campground is very nice, most sites have NO sewer sites but they have water and electric.  There are a few sites with sewer sites and there is, of course, a sewer dump station.  The beach is gorgeous and LONG!!!  You are not far from Myrtle Beach, from Georgetown and about 2 hours away from Charleston SC.  Great place.

    Johnston Landing Campground & Cabins

Low Country Camping @ Johnston Landing

Once you successfully navigate all of the backroads past Lake Marion and directly on the shores of Lake Moultrie, you’ll eventually find a small nook in the road where you’ll discover Johnston Landing, which is set off immediately by what looks to be a small bayou playing home to likely some grizzly gators(but truth be told, I never saw any while we were there). If you are coming to these parts, be sure to bring a floating vessel of any type– fishing boat, kayak, canoe or whatever will stay afloat– but if not, no worries, the good people here at Johnston Landing have you covered as they offer a paddle boat, kayaks and a row boat for rent. Insider’s tip? One of the best hikes in all of South Carolina– the Palmetto Trial is just about 5 miles away, but is definitely worth the hike as here you’ll be able to witness first hand the sunken giant Cypress trees, amazing bird watching(Ospreys and Herons in particular). As for amenities, this well-groomed campground offers up fairly new picnic tables, all the basic hook-ups(water, electric and sewage), BBQ/ grills and fairly clean restrooms and showers. Sportsman’s Bar& Grill just down the road is about the only thing decent within close proximity, otherwise, be prepared to cook whatever you plan on dining on for each meal.

    Happy Camping!

    Myrtle Beach Travel Park

    Good for the price

This is a pretty good RV park the Myrtle Beach area is one of our favorite places to go to RV parks and this is one of the ones that offers the ability to rent golf carts and also go close to the beach you still have to hike a little bit it's not as close as Pirate Land or the one that has the pier but it's pretty close it has a nice pool and it has some good facilities. We did have some issue getting delivery here as they wouldn't let the doordash drivers in we had to meet them at the gate.
