      Goddard Park Vacationland Campground

      Near Beautiful Lake Wilhelm

Nice park with very friendly staff. My only complaint is the sites are way too crowded. Also a little uneven. I love that this park is close to Lake Wilhelm & Goddard State Park for fishing and bike riding. 2 pools and a dog park.

Jamestown Campground — Pymatuning State Park

      Great state park

Nice shower and bathrooms for a state park.

I didn't like that pets are not allowed in the non-pet area as that was where the playground and swimming beach was. Made it difficult to swim and play as a family since you can't leave dogs alone at the campsite. I wouldn't bring my dog next time to this campground. There are other more dog friendly places.

Very nice areas for walking, kayaking, swimming, and playground.

      Westfield-Lake Erie KOA

      1st stop across country

This campground is very clean on the smaller side but very nice. There is highway noise but in your camper you really can’t here it. Beautiful temp and lots of things for the kids to do. Pool, playground, game room. They do have a dog park if you bring your pups. Overall very nice. I would come back.

      Thompson/Grand River Valley KOA Holiday

      Happy Camping

Relax, breath, and camp. Perfect spot.

This Campground is quiet, full of fun, for families or older people. Beautiful area.
Many pull through lots, with patios. 50. 30. Full hookup, (sewer and Electric) back in, pull through, tent sites, cabins, teepees. Swimming pool, private bathrooms and showers. Fishing lake, swimming lake, trails. Children play areas. Basketball, bad mitten/volleyball, Dog wash, dog parks (2), private fenced dog sites. (2)- pull through site. Golf cart rentals, and seasonal sites that are being updated, but all are decorated nicely, and kept up.
KOA is revamping some of this campground. Work in progress, but awesome stay.

      Willow Lake Campground

Nice and quiet with good layout

The sites are big with a range of surfaces available. Family run and immaculately kept. Grassy areas are cut and lush, showers and bathrooms are very clean and the layout is excellent. They have a dog park that is fenced in, no bare spots (all grass), a rock and other apparatus for dogs to climb and they even have a fire hydrant! Plus two shady spots under trees for adults to sit and relax. If we are ever going through their area we will definitely stay there again.

      Willow Lake Campground

      Always Satisfied

This is the second time we have camped here. The first time back in 2020 we paid for the cement pad spots and had zero issues. There aren’t any shade trees near the cement pad sites but the sites themselves are immaculate. This Labor Day weekend we stayed in a pull thru gravel spot. Minimal effort to get leveled and set up. Staff is friendly, site is beautiful with a few smaller trees. Nice play area for anyone who has kids. Dog park is also very nice sans the fact you have to walk past the bee infested dumpsters to get there! This is probably the most quiet campgrounds we have stayed at in the past 2 years! Very relaxing and a great place to stay!

      Westfield-Lake Erie KOA

      Overnighter

We only stayed for an overnighter on a long trip west. The restrooms and showers are some of the best we’ve seen during our trip. Very well maintained facilities and grounds and the staff are friendly and helpful. We were able to change our site for one that was more level without a problem. The only thing that might bother some people is the road noise. However we were able to sleep well despite it. There is also a dog “park”/fenced area.

      Geneva State Park Campground

      Monster Campsites!

This park has huge campsites ! The pads are paved and they left a section of trees/woods behind each site to provide some privacy between neighbors. The bathrooms are very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. The park is directly across the road from the paved bike trail which leads to the beach, marina, lodge and strip area. The trail is dog friendly but the beach is not. The campground is also pet friendly.

    Guide to Edinboro

Edinboro sits in northwestern Pennsylvania, approximately 20 miles south of Lake Erie at an elevation of 1,230 feet. The region experiences distinct seasonal changes with summer temperatures averaging 75-85°F and winters dropping to 20-30°F with lake effect snow. Camping options near Edinboro range from lakeside properties to woodland settings with varying levels of accessibility for different camping styles.

    What to do

Fishing opportunities: Folly's End Campground offers excellent fishing along its property stream. According to one camper, "Great place to park fish and enjoy wildlife. Bring your camera fishing rods or hicking boots." The campground provides stream access where anglers can try for trout.

Swimming access: Lampe Marina Campground provides water access for campers looking to cool off. Though swimming directly at the campground is limited, a visitor notes, "We came for a quick visit and enjoyed a beautiful sunset and sunrise. Large spaces and easy access to the pier (ramps available for all to enjoy)."

Biking adventures: Biking is popular at several campgrounds in the area. At Erie KOA, a reviewer mentioned, "Easy to ride bikes around. Kids loved seeing the giant teepees. Pool is clean and centrally located." Bike trails connect to several area attractions, making this activity accessible for all skill levels.

    What campers like

Private camping spots: Campers appreciate sites that offer some separation from neighbors. At Folly's End Campground, one review states, "Sites aren't on top of each other. Best sites are along the river and store has lots of fishing supplies." This gives campers more personal space compared to more crowded facilities.

Clean facilities: Virginia's Beach Campground receives positive comments about its maintenance. A visitor noted, "There really aren't words! Everything is clean, quiet and serene! The people that work there were super friendly!" Well-maintained bathrooms and showers consistently appear in positive reviews.

Waterfront views: Lake views are highly valued by campers in the region. One reviewer at Virginia's Beach Campground shared, "Almost all the spots have a water view even if you're not super close you can still see a small portion of it... There is an entrance down a rocky driveway to get to the lakes sandy edge which is great to bring chairs down and watch the sunset."

    What you should know

Water pressure concerns: Some campgrounds experience inconsistent water pressure. A camper at Virginia's Beach Campground reported, "Our only complaint is we had extremely low water pressure so we filled our tank and used our pump. Problem solved!" Having backup water is recommended during peak season.

Cell service limitations: Coverage can be spotty at certain campgrounds. A camper at Folly's End Campground noted, "Wifi was too weak at my tent site and Verizon service was mostly unavailable." Consider downloading maps and information before arrival.

Site leveling requirements: Uneven sites can affect comfort. At Erie KOA, a visitor mentioned, "Showers were excellent and very clean. The park was very well maintained. The sites are not level and are very crowded." Bring leveling blocks for RVs and choose tent spots carefully.

    Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly activities: Sparrow Pond Family Campground offers numerous options for children. One family reported, "Pretty clean, mostly new campers and RVs. Plenty of things for kids to do heated pool, 1:00 check out with ability to check out at 5pm for a small fee." The extended checkout option gives families extra time.

Playground access: Multiple campgrounds feature play areas for children. A visitor to Erie KOA shared, "Fun little campground with friendly staff and wide open spaces. Clean bathrooms, great pool, fun little game room. The playground got 2 thumbs up from a 4 and 6 year old." Playgrounds provide entertainment between other activities.

Fishing for kids: Younger campers enjoy fishing opportunities at several locations. One family at Erie KOA mentioned, "The kids enjoyed fishing in the pond and were able to catch a large small mouth bass and lots of blue gills." Fishing licenses aren't required for children under 16 in Pennsylvania.

    Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: RV campers recommend checking site details before booking. At West Haven RV Park, a visitor mentioned, "Arrived with no reservation after a long day. Had our fur baby Zeke, 5yo East GSD with us. Jodi placed us in a very nice spot right next to huge freshly mowed field in the rear of the park." Request specific areas if traveling with pets.

Electric hookup variations: Different campgrounds offer varying levels of electrical service. A camper at Sara's Campground observed, "Easy in and out. Sites are packed in. Allows late arrivals. Good WiFi." Confirm your specific electrical needs when making reservations, especially for larger RVs requiring 50-amp service.

RV size considerations: Some campgrounds have limitations for larger vehicles. At Uncle John's Elk Creek Campground, a visitor warned, "The sites are ok for your trailers/Rv, make sure you bring enough hose to connect to water. Each site does not have their own water connector, you have to run your hose 1 or 2 sites over." Measure your total length before booking.
