Larege, agressive group of threatening nasty camper bullies, defended by owner

I experienced an encounter with a hostile, aggressive group of campers that has never happened to me before. I was grabbed by two big hands, turned and thrown to the ground, face in the dirt, by a large man for leaning on his car. I was not aggressive or trespassing on their campsite, or loud, or harrassing them. I walked my dog on the edge of his campsite, which he gave me permission to do. He taunted me as i walked the dog. On my way out, (It is a dead end), i rested my elbow on his car, facing him, so i could figure out what was going on and how to talk to him. I did not deserve to be assaulted. I did not fight back, nor say anything nasty or threatening after the incident. I think the owner of the campground should apologize to me.

Great place to stay while traveling around the area.

We love this place. Quiet and it’s just what we need while in the area. Very friendly staff and located in the heart of Lancaster County. We only use the camp site and hook-ups, can’t really tell you about the amenities.

Tour the old mill and learn some of the history while there.

Pleased w’ stay

Great, convenient location. Cost friendly considering the location. Clean grounds & maintained sites. Mix of open & shaded sites, all appear to be pretty level, our site was next to stream. Following is just my humble opinion. Campground is on the smaller, compact side. As with any campground, do your homework/satellite views. Some sites here are close together. Which is excellent for group camping. You can have your own “compound” so to speak. Some sites do have more room. Very family friendly. Not a loud crowd here. Not a 5 star “resort” campground. A quintessential family campground yes. Not a shopping bonanza like some places, but has a very amply stocked store, has the necessities if you’re in need. I/we will most definitely stay here again if visiting the Lancaster area.

Nice quiet campground, near the Lancaster County hub.

Campground "amenities" are not a high priority for us, so this place was perfect for us. Nice quiet place. The site was right next to the creek. Shade is perfect for our dogs.

Office personnel were so very helpful. Office does close at 4 but that is due to staff shortages. Understandable since covid.

We stayed the next weekend also and the next site was 34 backed up the the road over the bridge. Was not a crowded weekend and we had a very nice site.

Will not return

Pull through sites with full hook up are literally on top of each other with ZERO shade. They do not provide a full size picnic table! If you dare to use the fire ring, you may melt the rig next to you or melt your vehicle. There is no security measures at all. There is one usable bath house with only two shower stales. The campground has very little trees. The office has very limited hours. The farm is literally the owner of the land, so you basically see, hear and SMELL all the farm life. I cannot imagine the smell when they fertilize or in the middle of summer. The farm has roosters that will greet you with their call every morning at 4 AM. They must breed dogs because there is a lot of barking.

False advertising

Just got here, but I already don’t recommend this place. The “buddy sites” listed are not buddy sites at all (hookups are on wrong end of site for that). Then, when you go to ask someone about it, the office is closed at 4:00! Check in at 3, office closed at 4…makes no sense.

Very relaxing

We had a nice site that backed up to a small creek. Very scenic and laid back campground. Mostly older folks. Very quiet except for the neighbor who rode his quad for hours on end. We went during Corona so no amenities were open. If you just need a place for a quiet weekend, this is it, but I can see how not many would enjoy it. Look at the map when selecting a site. The sites in the center are like a parking lot. Small, no shade and wide open. We prefer the creek side sites.

Not our cup of tea

We really don’t care for RV parks but occasionally, we decide to check one out. We found this place because we were looking for a covered bridge that, it turns out, used to be on the property but had been sold and moved! There was nothing wrong, per se, about this family-owned facility, except that we travel in a small camper van (we tend to live OUT of our van, not IN it) so RV facilities generally don’t appeal to us. The sites are very close together, like parking spaces, and afford no privacy between them. This is typical for an RV park. Sites range from 50 amp W/E/S, to 30 amp W/E. Some sites also have cable. WiFi is available and free for the first seven days of your stay. There is also a non-working mill, a pool, a game room, a camp store, and fishing access on the property. The staff person in the office was very friendly and helpful; if you like RV parks and want to explore Amish country in southern Pennsylvania, this would be an ideal location for you to stay but we decided to move on.
