Family friendly, super kind staff

We have stayed at a few KOAs and we really liked this one. The staff were kind and so helpful. This is right by Shawnee, several water sports places and near some great hikes. Campground has some nice shaded 30amp back in spots with full hookups. We stayed in 47 which backs up to a wooded area & had good cover. Although the map shows site 47 as electric & water only it's actually full hookups (they just haven't updated the map yet). Some of the pull through sites in the center are not shaded at all, as a heads up. Friends stayed in a deluxe cabin, which was beautiful & looked brand new inside. The camp store has everything you might need. Wi-Fi is free and signal OK. The pool is well maintained and there's a ton of space for outdoor activities like volleyball, mini golf & more. We did a buddy site and stayed next to friends as well for a small extra fee per site. We would stay here again!

Decent KOA

We found this KOA to be okay. Some amenities need upgrades for the price. Staff very friendly and helpful. I don’t love the gravel pad tent sites. Some sites are much more private than others.

It's a KOA

Its our first stop of many and we wanted to shake out any glitches with our new camper at a public campground. The staff are very helpful and accommodateing. This campground although dated offers all the necessary comforts-Wifi, hot showers, electric etc. Currently, there are various updates occurring: additional sites, new tiny cabins, WIFI and electric are also being modernized. We opted to relocate to a site with less construction occurring and although you can still hear back hoes etc-our view has much improved. We wish there was easier access to bike and hike trails so we didn't have to drive to a location but overall a comfortable and positive experience.

Sitesite 147, a pretty site abutting a horse farm. I was informed theses sites would be modified to accept on mobile homes in the future🤔

Love KOA

We love camping at KOA. The campground is always well maintained with excellent amenities. Our site is slightly smaller than I would have liked but love the full hookups. Lots to do in the area. Would definitely stay again.

A humble moto camper

The staff, facilities and amenities were fantastic. If I were here with a camper or rv I would have had a perfect weekend. However as a moto camper I felt rather closed in, surrounded by massive rvs and cabins. The lot i was in was also a gravel pad, which isn't necessarily pleasant to kneel on gravel to get in and out of the tent.

Overall I had a pleasant weekend and would recommend it for campers and rvs. But not if you intend to tent.

Enjoyed our stay

Easy check in and check out. Our camp site was great (52), backed onto a wooded area and a big playground was directly in front of us, which worked out perfectly since we have school age kids. Bathrooms were and staff seemed very friendly. Firewood and groceries could be delivered right to your site. I thought the campsites seemed pretty big, but as in any campground some where bigger than others and the pull through looked smaller and cramped. They had tent camping, primitive camping and teepees and a conestoga wagon you could rent. They have mini golf and gem mining, they had a big fire every night AND a giant steer that would come out every night to graze. Also a small pet area. We enjoyed it and would go back.

Socially distanced place to stay on business

In the age of Covid, I needed to travel for business and brought our camper for a place to stay for 4 nights. Here are the pros and cons that I saw:

PROS: -Our particular camp site was huge! There was plenty of room for us to spread out.

  • We were very into socially distancing, and said so when we made our reservation. We were assigned a perfect site for this. We were away from people at the tip of a small hill and at the end of a road. It was perfect!

CONS: -The campground had many different types of sites. Some were big and socially distanced like the one we had. But some were extremely small and very close to the next camper. Some were in the woods and some were practically on the main road. I would not have been happy with some of those sites. So make sure you ask for what you want. -Depending upon how much you are into covid procedures... It was definitely clean and decently maintained. But I didn’t see anyone disinfecting common areas and the pool was full at many times. It was not a problem for us because we stayed away from common areas.

I would stay here again, but would make sure we chose our site beforehand. All in all a decent place.

Small and Not well kept

The campsites were small and right on top of each other. The whole campgrounds were smaller than the map lead me to believe. Also, the creek on the map is 4’ wide with stagnant water so no swimming or fishing. The mini golf and playground areas were overrun by grass and weeds that they didn’t even bother to cut let alone mulch. Not worth the trip in my opinion.

Great Stay

We enjoyed this campground! The pool was closed for the season when we were there, but the kids were able to enjoy an awesome playground and bounce pad. The roads were also great for them to ride on and get exercise. They REALLY enjoyed the art classes & the gem mining. So much fun for families!

Large area, family friendly!

Delaware Water Gap was a massive campground that was incredibly well kept and had spaces for both RVs and primitive camping. The site was very kid and pet friendly, outfitted with both a pet and children's playground(see pictures and videos). The primitive sites were separated from the RV area which is nice because it felt like we had more privacy that way. Each site had its own fire pit as well. If you stay here, be aware of the wild grouse that roam the whole campground!

Too close together

Sites are very close together. A dead spruce tree on our site had been spray painted green to make it appear alive. The upgraded patio site was nice and came with furniture, a grill and a beautiful fire pit area. But they had rented the patio site next to us to first time tenters who knew nothing about camping etiquette, so that put a damper on things. They do offer multiple options (tents, camper, teepees cabins etc...) but the place was laid out poorly and overall felt unwelcoming. The bath houses were dirty and smelled gross. Close to local attractions.
