Best RV Parks & Resorts near North Bend, OR

North Bend offers several established RV parks with full hookup capabilities, including The Mill Casino Hotel & RV Park, Sun Outdoors Coos Bay, and Oceanside Beachfront RV Resort. Most sites provide concrete or gravel pads with 50-amp electrical connections, water hookups, and sewer connections. "Very nice RV Park with concrete pads level to park the camper on. We had a back-in slot but there were pull-thrus also," noted one visitor at a nearby park. Winchester Bay RV Resort, located about 30 miles north, features paved roads and level sites that accommodate larger motorhomes with slide-outs.

Seasonal availability varies significantly between coastal and inland RV destinations. Many parks remain open year-round, though fall and summer reservations often fill months in advance. Pull-through sites typically command premium rates, ranging from $45-55 nightly for full hookups. Cell service is generally reliable near North Bend proper, with varying coverage extending into surrounding areas. A review mentioned that "ladies at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. Good WiFi, cable and AT&T cell service." Dump stations are available at most parks, with some charging additional fees for non-guests. Port of Siuslaw Campground & Marina

    Pricey, But Loved It

Parks that are walking distance to shops and restaurants are such a treat.  There are breweries, restaurants, farmers market (on Tuesday afternoon), shops, etc all within easy walking distance from here.

We stayed at a waterfront site, which was cheaper than the "premium" pull through sites in the middle.  With fees and extra pet fees (you get one pet included in the nightly fee, any additional pets are $2 each) we paid $47 for a night.   The premium sites we would not recommend, unless you must have a pull through site.  Those are basically just spots in a gravel lot with hookups.  Zero division between sites.  And they are the most expensive at $55/night.

There's a nice gazebo to use for group events, but it's an odd set up in that there is no path to the gazebo and it's in the center of a circle of back in sites.  So if all the sites were occupied, I suppose you'd have to walk through someone's site to access it?

So pleasantly surprised to see glass recycling here!  We got to dump off our growing pile of traveling glass recycling.  Mixed recycling is in a separate bin.  But no plastics!

There is laundry here, and showers, but we did not use either.  There's a book exchange shelf in the office.

Their website is out of date: there are no dry camp spots any longer.  All sites are FHU.

Good cell service here and their wifi is good and strong, even in the back end where we were.

We liked this place to splurge on a place close to town, but overall too pricey for us to stay for any length of time.

Bandon by the Sea RV Park

    Nice RV Park

Very nice RV Park. Ladies at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. Good WiFi, cable and AT&T cell service. Concrete pads level to park the camper on. We had a back in slot but there were pull-thrus also, full campground. Clean bathroom / shower. More long term campers than I expected but all were very friendly. Next to Hwy 101 but didnt notice much traffic noise. No playground for the kids but there was a open area to throw some baseballs around. Visited during circles in the sand. Great beach to explore.

    Boice-Cope Campground

    Lots of little luxuries

    —————INTERNET—————

Verizon via iPhone 12: 29 mbps down and 0.48 mbps up with 38 ms ping. T-Mobile: No signal.

CAMPGROUND WIFI - 18 mbps down and 18 mbps up with 21 ms ping. There were 5 campsites in use.

    ——REASONS I STAYED HERE——

    I specifically chose this campground.

    1. It was somewhat close to my upcoming vacation spot in Bandon.
    2. I had to work a ton and needed internet.
    3. The campground has laundry facilities.
    4. Has showers.

    —————BASIC FAQ—————

    [Rig. Mercedes Sprinter. 22 feet]

Dump station? - Yes, but for a fee

Water fill? - Yes, but for a fee

    Clean site? - Yes

    Clean bathroom? - Yes

    Flush toilet? - Yes

    Showers? - Yes, coin operated

    Laundry? - YES!

    Dish washing sink? - No

    —————PROS—————

    • The campground hosts (there’s 2) are super friendly and social. Their dogs are super cute too.
    • The campground is within walking distance of the beach and also a lake. We did a lot of nature watching while sitting at the bench by the lake.
    • The campsites are all black-top paved. Take the campsite size to heart. If it’s listed for 21 feet then it’s only 21 feet long.
    • The SHOWERS. Each round of shower costs $1.50 for 6 minutes for delightfully hot water and good pressure. The shower rooms are individual rooms outside. There’s two. The one I used has a place to hang your bag, a table to set your wet toiletry bottles on, a chair to put my dry clothes on (or sitting) and a trash can. I cannot emphasize how nice it was to have the trash can in the shower room.
    • The women’s bathroom is clean and also has a space heater running. How wonderfully, comfortable.
    • The laundry room. We used it a lot. There’s a quarter exchange machine for $1 and $5 bills. There’s a small vending machine with basic laundry cleaning items. The washers I think were $2 and the dryer was 25¢ for 8 minutes. There’s a table where you can fold your laundry and also work on your laptop like I did. The Wi-Fi signal is really good in there. (My speedtest was actually done at my campsite 19.) Bring a cleaning cloth to clean the table as it gets dusty and a wee bit sandy (it’s still a campground). The laundry room also has a space heater.
    • Firewood is for purchase for $5.

    —————CONS—————

    • The dump station was expensive. We didn’t use it. It’s $10 for campers and $30 for non-campers.
    • For those that care, there’s virtually no privacy at the campsites. It’s a communal sort of campground. Just be aware. We didn’t mind but there was also only 5 campsites in use.

    —————OVERALL—————

4.5-stars - The dump station is the culprit but if you have a small rig, do like a van I saw. Put a bucket under the grey tank valve, collect the grey water and dump it in the dish water drains that are throughout the campground. 👌

    Cape Blanco State Park Campground

    Camp with a Lighthouse

I have been camping at Cape Blanco State Park for years. This campground is located on the Southern Oregon coast outside of Port Orford, OR.

The campground does not take reservations and can have low availability during peak summer season. Cabins are available to reserve. The campground has free showers, flush toilets, sinks, firewood for sale, and beach access. The sites have full hookups, fire pits, tables, and very long paved drives. A bikers' camp, group camp, and horse camp are also available.

It is very windy here, but the plants surrounding the sites keep out most of the coastal wind and also provide plenty of privacy from other sites. Be prepared for cold weather and misty air. Dump station is under construction and not open for use right now.

    Winchester Bay RV Resort

    An Oregon Coast Gem!

RV resort for sure. Beautifully landscaped and right on the bay. All paved roads and level sites that are back in and pull through. It's a busy place so tough to get a reservation unless you book way ahead. Walking and bike path surrounds the park. Close to the small community of Winchester Bay that has a grocery store and restaurants. Just a great park.

Rising River RV Resort & River House

Cute RV Park near the river

Super friendly rv management and staff- could not have been more welcoming. There are 2 dog runs, laundry, showers and bathrooms on site. Small store in the management office for sundries and rv gear. There are some full timers who live in the park but seem to be isolated in 1 part of the park.

Gravel pad, no cement. 30 & 50 amp hookups along with water, sewer, cable and WiFi. WiFi drops often and can’t be used for streaming. No troubles with ATT cellular service.

Park is next to a mobile home park that may be sketchy, but the RV park is a gated community that needs a passcode from 6 pm to 8am daily. I felt perfectly safe within the park but there is no food or shopping within walking distance. Not far drive though is a grocery mart and plentiful restaurants. Roseburg itself has everything you could need within a 10-15 min drive from the park.

I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

Note: spot 62 was close to Hwy 99 and you can here the traffic if your windows are open.

Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort

3.5/5 - not bad for a quick getaway

The website was not kidding about not following the directions through Google Maps. The last 9 miles to the resort was really trying - the roads were narrow, twisty and winding. If you are probe to car-sickness, go slow. I took extra precaution and dabbed essential oils on myself and my children.

Our pull-through site was in the Upper Marina, #22. If you have an extra canopy for camping, I'd suggest you bring it. It got really HOT when we were there. The good news is once the sun sets behind the trees, around 6pm, it makes eating dinner at the picnic table so comfortable and cooling.

My husband and children perused the bathroom/shower facilities which was just across from our campsite. He said it was spacious - a shower + private bathroom + sink setup and wide enough for a family.

Access to the swimming beach/boat launch is just a short 3 minutes walk. You just have to exercise caution because you will be crossing a main road (cars and big logging trucks rumble along often enough during the week).

The swimming (sandy) beach is cosy (read: tiny). There are no lifeguards on duty but enough trees offering shade for parents/families to sit back and keep watch.

You would have to drive back 5 minutes down the road to visit the Lodge for supplies or ice. The Lodge also provides some light refreshments* (deli sandwiches and ice-cream).

Our site offered full hook-ups including cable (limited channels). WIFI* was a disappointment though - we had to create an account for a complimentary hour of WIFI usage every day. Together with the zero cell reception, it renders us completely off the grid. It's great really to totally relax your mind and body but it is worrisome for that what-if's scenarios.

*Ice-cream was very pricey for the single not-generous scoop in a plastic cup that we bought for each of us. Because of the steep prices and WIFI availability (you have to pay if you want to get connected), I could only give a rating of 3.5/5 stars.

Otherwise, we had a great time at the RV resort. The sites are appealing for huge family reunion (we witnessed such a reunion during our trip). We will be back! 😊

We are a family of 4 (2 young boys with no pets). We traveled with a travel trailer.

    Sunset Bay State Park Campground

    A childhood favorite

I have been frequently this campground for 20 years and although a lot has changed in that time this campground seems to stay wonderful. Campsites are nicely maintained and practically on the beach with nearby hiking trails and pet friendly beaches. Campsites are pet friendly and nice sized with fire pits and picnic benches. Bathrooms and showers located nearby and the entire campground is very peaceful.

    Sutton Campground

    Nice Little Score!

Arrived on a Monday in mid August just driving through to check it out and decided to stay and had no problem finding a spot without reservations. There are 4 loops, A through D, each with a Group camp area, though sign said Loop C not recommended for RVs and trailers.

Paved driving throughout the campground and paved parking pads at each site which vary in size but are mostly level. Most sites are shaded with scattered sun so if you rely on solar there are some with more sun than others. Most sites are very private and nicely separated from neighbor and are very clean. Each site has picnic table and fire pit. Some sites have electrical hook up and there are water spigots throughout. There are also flush toilets and clean restrooms but no showers.

Garbage dumpsters are available but no recycling. There is no dump station at this campground.

Hiking trails to the beach. This place is quiet and the sound of the wind in the trees is relaxing. The trees nicely block the pounding wind at the beach. The volunteers are friendly and helpful.

Fires currently not permitted, but normally the host has wood for sale at $6/bundle.

Power hookup are $29. Dry camp sites are $24. Half off discount for Senior and Lifetime Access Card.

Decent cell service with ATT and Verizon but no TMobile.

Guide to North Bend

North Bend's RV camping areas sit near the convergence of Coos Bay and the Pacific Ocean, with most sites positioned less than a mile from water access points. The coastal climate brings morning fog during summer months, with temperatures typically ranging between 50-65°F. Local campgrounds experience high occupancy from July through September due to proximity to fishing and crabbing opportunities.

What to do

Beach exploration: Bastendorff Beach near Sun Outdoors Coos Bay provides a wide, flat shoreline for long walks. "Short walk to the beautiful dog friendly beach (just over the sand dunes - two minutes). They have crab nets you can borrow and a crab cleaning and cooking station to use," notes one visitor.

Crabbing: Winchester Bay RV Resort offers direct access to crabbing areas. "We were able to cast our crab snares right off the back of our site and limit out. Park has a nice walking path that goes around the outside along the bay," reports a regular visitor. Crabbing season peaks from September through December.

Lake activities: North Lake Resort RV Park & Marina provides water recreation options 20 minutes from North Bend. "Nice bathroom and they also have boat rentals. Other camp ground are very close but this one has private space, grass and shade," explains a camper who stayed there.

What campers like

Direct beach access: Campers at Sun Outdoors Coos Bay appreciate the beach proximity. "Staff went above and beyond to get us and our pups a place to stay during COVID19 when all state parks require 24hrs notice and no walk-ins. Super clean and spacious bathrooms and showers."

Marina views: The coastal setting at Windy Cove Campground receives high marks for location. "The campground hosts are absolutely the best! They are so kind, keep the place super clean, are very very friendly and welcoming," reports one visitor. Harbor views and proximity to water activities are frequently mentioned.

Tent camping options: Though most North Bend sites cater to RVs, tent camping is available at select locations. "If you're tent camping they have a few amazing tent sites right on the beach and a little beach bungalow for rent oceanfront too," notes a camper who stayed at Sun Outdoors Coos Bay.

What you should know

Reservation timing: Many RV parks near North Bend require advance planning, especially during summer. For waterfront sites at Osprey Point RV Resort, one visitor noted: "Great water access for boating, canoeing, kayaking. No privacy between spots. There is no dog run or horseshoe pits as advertised."

Site spacing: Most RV parks North Bend, Oregon have limited spacing between sites. "The only down side is how close the sites are to each other. You're parked just a few feet away from your neighbors," explains a camper at Oceanside Beachfront RV Resort.

Mixed reviews for WiFi: Internet connectivity varies significantly between campgrounds. At Osprey Point RV Resort, a camper commented: "WiFi is terrible, which seems to be par for the course for RV parks. Only complaint is that the sites are really squeezed in and the lanes are very narrow."

Tips for camping with families

Playground availability: When traveling with children, note that playground equipment is limited. A visitor at Osprey Point observed: "Nice campground, people are friendly, bathrooms are clean. It has boats and bikecar things to rent. Store closed kinda early for the rentals though. No kids playground, but does have a fish cleaning station."

Swimming areas: Coquille River RV Park provides water access but limited swimming infrastructure. "While not along the ocean, this is right on the beautiful Bandon Marsh. Plenty of room to bring your bikes, kayaks, hiking boots and clear jars for the beautiful sea glass pebbles."

Store hours: Many campground stores close by 5:00 PM, which affects evening activity planning. At Osprey Point RV Resort, a recent visitor mentioned: "Great resort. Wish the store was open until 5 or 6pm. Best pizza." Plan ahead for evening needs.

Tips from RVers

Site leveling: The Mill Casino Hotel & RV Park offers level concrete pads that accommodate large rigs. "All sites are paved and full hookups. Laundry, bathrooms and showers are nice and clean. Shuttle or walk to casino if you want. Host switched us to a better site no problem."

Site selection strategy: At Winchester Bay RV Resort, requesting specific sites improves your experience. "If you choose a water view location on the front, you will love it. Short walk to pizza, fish, and shops. Lots of grassy areas for dogs."

Noise considerations: Coastal RV parks near North Bend experience regular fog horns. A visitor at Winchester Bay RV Resort warned: "If you are a light sleeper and like to have a window open, you'd better wear earplugs because the foghorn blows 24/7 every 15 seconds."
