Best RV Parks & Resorts near Molalla, OR

Several RV parks surround Molalla, Oregon, providing year-round options for motorhome travelers. Clackamette RV Park in Oregon City offers big-rig friendly sites with 30-amp electric hookups, water connections, and a sanitary dump station, though it lacks sewer hookups at individual sites. Portland-Woodburn RV Park features full hookup sites with 50-amp service, accommodating larger rigs on level pads. Silver Spur RV Park & Resort in Silverton remains open year-round with full hookups including 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections. The RV sites at Clackamas River RV Park in Estacada provide spacious pull-through options with full hookups. "The RV spaces are very easy to get into being angled. We stayed in a pull through space, easy in and easy out," noted one traveler about Silver Spur, though they mentioned the spaces were somewhat small for extended stays.

Fall and summer seasons typically see higher occupancy rates at RV parks near Molalla, making advance reservations advisable. Most parks in the region welcome pets, with designated dog areas available at several locations. Cell service varies by location, with stronger signals reported at parks closer to Portland and Oregon City. While Portland Fairview RV Park offers reliable Verizon and T-Mobile coverage, more remote locations may have spotty service. Dump stations are available at most parks, though some charge additional fees for use. Navigation to certain parks requires attention to entrance conditions, as some have steep concrete pad entrances that could cause larger rigs to bottom out. Winter travelers should check road conditions, particularly when heading toward Mt. Hood Village Resort, where snow removal is generally prompt but winter driving conditions can be challenging.

    Columbia River RV Park

Basic Nice RV Park Right in Portland

Located at the northern end of Portland not too far off the 1-5 freeway. RV campground with wide streets, nice office staff, and clean facilities including laundry, clubhouse, group kitchen area and free wi-fi. Grass in-between most spots, with some back-in sites and others being pull-through. Backs up to a busy road blocked by large bushes and under the pathway for the airport, so there's some noise but not horrible. Some full-times but sites are nice and well maintained. Overall nice, clean and well maintained large RV site within the Portland city limits.

    Premier RV Resort

    Nice CG, but small sites

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow. We were in site 57 for 4 days in mid September. Very friendly staff. The CG is clean, quiet and well maintained, but the sites are fairly short and narrow. As others have mentioned, tow vehicles usually extend into or are parked partially on the roads through the CG, but the roads are fairly wide throughout the CG. Also, our slides extended well past the concrete pad on both sides, leaving very little room to get around our RV. The sewer connections are not threaded, so you’ll have to weigh down your sewer hose. There is a fair bit of road noise from the highway. There is a nice open area, off leash pen and network of short trails for walking your dog. AT&T coverage was fair, ranging from 2-4 bars of 5G with speeds up to 19 MB/s. The CG WiFi speed varied considerably, from next to useless up to 1 MB/s. We were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. There were 11 OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

Reeder Beach RV Park & Country Store

    1 Night Stopover

I was worried when Google maps brought me through the industrial section of Portland, but relieved when I crossed the bridge to the Island. Check in was fast and efficient. Can't say the staff was friendly or welcoming, Full hookups, but I don't rate it higher because there is no wifi or laundry facilities. There is also nothing around here store or restaurant wise. I enjoyed the beach and watching the ships pass by. I had good cell service. Riverside back in sites are the best. Pull through provide shade

Silver Spur RV Park & Resort

    Not terrible.

I ended up here last minute due to weather on the Oregon coast. I’m in a 40’ coach. It’s a very well kept RV park, a lot of long term residents were here. The office is very nice, the lawns are very nice, the office parking lot is asphalt. Has a nice little children’s play area. There are very bumpy gravel driveways to the RV parking spots (possibly just the time of year causing the poor road condition). The RV spaces are very easy to get into being angled. We stayed in a pull through space, easy in and easy out. Only giving a 4star rating for the very small RV spaces. Was very crammed for anything more than a last minute stay.

    Blue Ox RV Park

Disneyland is not the happiest place on earth

This is the happiest place on RV Earth! What a beautiful park! Amazing trees of every kind and flowers and bushes all cared for meticulously. Great wi-fi. Management is exceptional! Indoor pool, multiple laundry rooms, rec room - all spotlessly clean. Close easy access to freeway but minimal noise. Full hookups of course, Wi-Fi is strong and fast, 48 channels of sharp cable TV picture. We are putting this on our A list and will return whenever we're passing through this area again. Two bars of 5G Verizon. Beautiful city soccer fields and park just outside the entrance to the park. Great place to walk and relax. Recommend.

    Bayport RV Park and Campground

Normally not a four star RV park but considering the price...

Came here so I can kayak and calm waters. The slabs are mostly level and each spot is large with a nice picnic table and fire pit but neighbors are fairly close and not much privacy. Showers are quarter timed showers and I've seen much better and cleaner. They do have waste of disposal for a fee but they offer drinking water and full Electric and water but no sewage hookup you pay at the dump station. However it's very close to town which is very convenient and has great access to the water as compared to many other places where you have to drive à ways.

    Whitcomb Creek County Park

Camping on a peninsula in the mist of Green Peter

Your in the woods at this location, bring your boats/canoe/kayak the reservoir is huge to explore.

The campground is only open in the summer and as of 2018 has some wonderful updates on Loop “A” and Loop “C” (new tables, and site pads, and fire rings). Loop “B” is still rustic and not a bad site to sit. There are a few Double site can hold two campers. There is not water or electricity, bring it in and pack it out. Can accommodate big rigs, or small tents. There are four pull through sites. Best to RSVP through ww.linnparks.com on popular weekends or take your change for any open sites, if no sites available head up Quartzville past mile marker 17 and park along the road for free, only where there are metal fire rings.

    Sun Outdoors Portland South

    Glamping

This was my first experience at an RV Resort. It is located right of the interstate but feels secluded. They have both back in and pull through sites, a little tight with neighbors but I was told it is better than other RV resorts. Beautiful landscaping, indoor pool and hot tub, small market, laundry facilities, horseshoe pits on beautiful grassy area. Yes to dogs and cats and no breed restrictions! They have a nice grassy area with poop bags! Bummer no fires 🙁 If fire pits I’d give the 5th star! Also, within 15-20 mins there are amazing countryside, wine tasting, hiking/walking, Willamette River with off leash areas for dogs, and downtown Portland. Additionally there is an off leash park 8 mins away. Overall a good experience, we enjoyed our stay. My photos don’t show much of the place but their website’s photos represent well.

    Humbug Campground

    Love it here

Humbug is one of our favorite campgrounds. We love the easy access to the beach and the beautiful hikes.  Showers are hot and free, rangers are always friendly.

Cell service is pretty iffy here, but we manage to make it work with the cell booster.

There's a dump station and water fill, trash and recycling, water spigots throughout campground, and firewood for sale.

Tent sites in Oregon don't currently have the 25% non-resident surcharge (though I've heard that's changing soon) and there are plenty of non-hookup/tent sites that will fit RVs. There are also FHU and pull through sites.

Guide to Molalla

RV sites near Molalla, Oregon provide convenient access to the scenic Cascade foothills and Clackamas River basin. Located at approximately 400 feet elevation, the area experiences mild winters and warm summers with peak camping season extending from April through October. Most campgrounds in the area sit within a 30-minute drive of Molalla's city center and serve as strategic bases for exploring Mount Hood wilderness trails.

What to do

Fishing access: Clackamette RV Park offers immediate river access at the confluence of the Willamette and Clackamas Rivers. "The confluence of the Clackamas and Willamette river's, this is a great spot with most amenities, still inside Portland metro, right off 205 but incredibly serene nonetheless. RV hookups, boat launch, great fishing," notes a visitor. The park provides boat launches and shoreline fishing opportunities within a 25-mile drive from Molalla.

Mountain biking trails: The Sandy Ridge Trail System across from Mt Hood Village Resort features some of the region's premier mountain biking routes. "Using this RV park as a jumping off point, there are endless hiking trails and lakes to paddle and explore in the Mt Hood wilderness. You will never get bored in the Mt Hood area," explains one camper. The trail system offers over 15 miles of purpose-built mountain bike trails ranging from beginner to advanced difficulty.

Swimming opportunities: Many campgrounds near Molalla offer swimming options during summer months. "There is easy bike riding in the RV park, and right across Hwy 26 is some of the best Mountain Biking in the country at the Sandy Ridge Trail System," comments an RV camper. Natural swimming holes can be found along the Clackamas River between Estacada and Molalla, typically accessible from May through September.

What campers like

Indoor amenities: Mt Hood Village Resort receives praise for its facilities that remain open year-round. "We had an RV on site. Used the indoor swimming pool and the restaurant for some breakfasts & lunches. Food was adequate. There is a playground onsite for those with children and plenty of bike paths and walking paths to keep you busy," shares one camper. The resort maintains heated indoor facilities regardless of outdoor weather conditions.

Convenient shopping access: Many RV parks in the area offer proximity to retail options. A reviewer at Portland-Woodburn RV Park notes: "Definitely not the worst RV Park our there. Decent size patches of grass between RV's, conveniently located by numerous shops and restaurants, right off I-5 so anyone needing a place to crash or working nearby it works great." The park sits within walking distance of Woodburn Premium Outlets, featuring over 100 stores.

Wooded privacy: Some campgrounds offer more secluded settings with natural screening between sites. "The full hook up sites are in old growth timber giving each site a feeling is seclusion. The lodge, pool, hot tub and saunas are in good condition," reports a visitor to Mt Hood Village Resort. Established trees between sites provide natural sound barriers and shade during summer months.

What you should know

Water pressure variations: Several parks report inconsistent water pressure. At Jantzen Beach RV Park, campers note: "Water pressure is the lowest we've ever experienced. Not sure what's going on but all of the folks we've talked to are experiencing the same." Bringing a water pressure regulator and extra hoses can help manage these inconsistencies.

Age restrictions: Some parks enforce RV age restrictions. One camper at Roamers Rest RV Park comments, "They also have RV age limit of 2010 but they allowed pictures before turning me down. Yay we got approved!" Always check age policy requirements before booking at parks near Molalla.

Road noise considerations: Highway proximity affects sound levels at certain parks. "While the park is nice and well maintained, the B lot backs right up to the highway with unbearable road noise. Had two nights planned but will be leaving after the first," reports a visitor to Silver Spur RV Park. Request interior sites when possible to minimize traffic noise.

Tips for camping with families

Look for dedicated activities: Some parks offer structured programs for children. "This was a good family camping spot. Pros - there is a playground, swimming pool, small store, cafe, bathrooms with showers (and warm water) and activities during the day for kids," reports a family staying at Mt Hood Village Resort. Many parks schedule weekend activities during summer months.

Consider bathroom proximity: When tent camping with children, check bathroom locations. "If you're tent camping the bathrooms are quite the hike, the tent sites are crammed together, there's only one working faucet in the entire tent camping area," notes a family at Mt Hood Village Resort. Request sites closer to facilities when traveling with young children.

Swimming options: Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort offers regulated swimming facilities ideal for families with children. "The resort has laundry, which is clean, they have a wonderful pool and hot tubs," mentions a visitor. Most family-oriented pools in the region operate from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with some indoor options available year-round.

Tips from RVers

Site angles matter: RV parks with angled sites prove easier to navigate. A traveler at Silver Spur RV Park notes: "The RV spaces are very easy to get into being angled. We stayed in a pull through space, easy in and easy out. Only giving a 4star rating for the very small RV spaces. Was very crammed for anything more than a last minute stay." Angled pull-through sites reduce maneuvering challenges, particularly for larger RVs.

Delivery services available: Some parks accept package deliveries, a convenience for long-term stays. "There is no mail service but UPS and FedEx can deliver to your campsite," reports a visitor at Mt Hood Village Resort. This allows campers to receive supplies or replace equipment without leaving the campground.

After-hours arrival protocols: Many RV parks near Molalla have specific procedures for late check-ins. "If the office is closed there is a cabinet around the corner that may contain the map with your name and directions to your spot," explains a camper at Portland Fairview RV Park. Call ahead if planning to arrive outside standard office hours, typically 9am-5pm.
