Osage Cove at Kaw Lake permits dogs at its lakeside campsites with electric hookups. Multiple pet-friendly campgrounds cluster around Kaw Lake, including Sandy Park, Washunga Bay, and Sarge Creek. All require pets to remain leashed within campground boundaries. Bear Creek Cove and McFadden Cove feature spacious sites with picnic tables where campers can set up alongside their pets. The campgrounds maintain cleanliness with regular maintenance, though several campers note the varying condition of bathroom facilities. Campground layouts typically include water access points with open areas for dog exercise without designated dog parks.

Kaw Lake's shoreline provides numerous opportunities for dogs to swim and cool off during hot summer months. The Eagle View Trail accessible from Osage Cove offers a pet-friendly hiking route with lake views where leashed dogs can join their owners. Prairie dogs inhabit fields on the west side of the dam, requiring pet owners to maintain control of their animals when wildlife is present. Most campgrounds feature grassy areas between sites suitable for short pet walks. The nearby town of Ponca City provides emergency veterinary services approximately 8-10 miles from most lake campgrounds. Primitive camping areas around Pawhuska Lake offer less crowded dog-friendly campsites for those seeking quieter environments for pets sensitive to campground activity.

      Osage Hills State Park Campground

They let us in for free!

We arrived here later in the day. We were here and it was chilly in November. Apparently the person working didn't anticipate any body showing up so late in the season. They were surprised and let us in for free. Its a pretty sweet camp right on the lake. 20-30 tent sites. As well as full RV hook ups.

Theres hiking, biking, and fishing in the area. We weren't really sure what to think about camping in Oklahoma and the camp site and people blew our expectations.

      Cheers!

      Riverside RV Park

      Stayed for a month

Great location, friendly staff, and very reasonable pricing. $395 for the month + electric. Laundry room on site is nice, inexpensive, and includes plenty of washer and dryers. There’s a paved walking trail right next to the campground that is well maintained and leads to the campgrounds dog park. Dog park is clean and spacious. My only thing to note is that the campground is all rock/dirt so it is very dusty, however the staff to a great job of keeping up with the area and making it a nice place to stay.

The RV Park at Keystone Lake

      Great place

This is a new RV park. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Sites are spacious level and easily accessible. They have a large dog park, good parking and area for additional parking for extra vehicles, boats, and such.

      Sooner's Corner RV Park

      Easily Accessed From Highway

On my way north of Oklahoma City I was in search of a gas station on a pretty baron strip of highway. I saw a few signs for a local community of Perry and thought I would check it out along the way. Just off the highway at exit 185 heading toward Highway 77 there was a small truck stop but more surprisingly located just beside as a part of the same property was roadside motel and RV stop.

I inquired within and was informed that they have nightly as well as weekly rates available and often are frequented by tourists passing through on the main highway.

There are only 16 pull through locations but they do allow overnight tent stay, although there is not a discounted rate for tents.

The property is limited on shade but does have basic amenities and proximity to quick feel before hitting the road again.

The restrooms are quite nice and offer showers and laundry services as well. They do allow pets and didn’t seem to have an additional charge for this. If you are looking for an easy access location this one is great for a quick pull off however if you are looking for more recreational style campgrounds look at Perry Lake which is only a short distance away.

      Wah-Sha-She Park

Best camp hosts & beautiful, peaceful nights

My husband, 2 dogs, and I stayed here in our tent multiple weekends in a row this past summer. We went jugging in our canoe and caught some really good size blue cats. The camp hosts are the absolute best! And never ending gorgeous evenings spent by the campfire watching the sunset.

      Bluestem Lake

      Blast!

This campground was super cool because it was a little "out dated" but it made it cozy! So many beautiful trees and walking paths that it made the stay great. We would get up in the morning and do a short hike that was nearby, and then finish it off with one of the walking paths around the campground, then had breakfast. It was a great way to start the day. They offer RV sites as well as small cabins you can rent. My family and I took our RV, and had a blast. The sites were big enough for the RV and had a picnic table and fire ring within the site. We didn't feel like we were right on top of our neighbors either which was nice. There is a lake within walking distance, so we would head down there during the day. Dogs are allowed, but need to be on leashes. We brought our dog and he had a blast in the lake. They have a volleyball court set up as well as horse shoes which was fun! You can also rent stand up paddle boards from the front desk to take down to the lake. They also have a club house that has a pool table, although we didn't partake in this. There is an area where you can do laundry too, which we thought was pretty cool. This is definitely considered "glamping" to us :) There is also a boat launch if you need that too. We caught some really awesome weather while we stayed here which made the trip amazing! We will definitely be back.

      Osage Hills State Park Campground

      CCC Camping

What a neat little park in Northeastern Oklahoma! What I really liked was that most of the park was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) during the Depression and New Deal eras. Many of the buildings were still in use including shelters and cabins. What I didn't like were the terribly short hours of the office- open 8:00-4:30, although no one was around as late as 8:30 in the morning. Back to the positives, the tent sites were separate from the RV sites by a good 1/4 mile so no worries about generators. I camped in site Q which was on the interior of the tent loop, but the prime spots were on the outside of the loop. If you can get site R you will be in heaven!. Each site had a picnic table and fire pit and there were nice level places for tents on all sites. There is a nice overlook in the tent loop to watch the sun rise over the valley. The bathhouse was clean and had electric. There were two shower stalls, but no doors or curtains, so best not be modest. The RV sites seemed well spaced and well maintained. There were several nice trails in the park, with one that left from the tent loop, but they weren't really well marked and it was difficult to find any trail maps. There is a pretty little lake near the entrance that you can rent canoes to take a spin around the lake, but again, it depends on whether someone shows up to man the office. Apparently I wasn't the only one struggling to deal with the office hours as someone just dumped their boat paddles and PDF's in front of the office door since there was no one to turn them in to.
