What campers like
Peaceful lake atmosphere: The smaller lakes provide a calmer experience than larger bodies of water in the region. "This lake is a nice break from places like Cheney and Afton. It's small so there aren't a lot of big boats disturbing the water, which makes paddling a lot more enjoyable," explains Chris L.
Budget-friendly options: Several campgrounds offer economical rates for overnight stays. "I believe tent camping was $3.50 for primitive and $10 with electricity," shares Joyce R. about Napawalla Park, while Shaanti O. notes Santa Fe Lake costs "$32 to stay the night, and the showers were coin-op."
Clean facilities: Many campers appreciate the well-maintained bathrooms and showers. "The bathrooms are super clean, there is a very nice playground and fenced dog run," reports Jennie D. about USI RV Park.
Convenient locations: Several campgrounds provide easy access to both urban amenities and natural settings. "All the shopping and food locations on base are less than 3 minutes from the campground and off base food and shopping is less than 10 minutes away," explains a reviewer about McConnell AFB.
What you should know
Pet policies vary: While most campgrounds are pet-friendly, specific rules apply at each location. "There is a very nice playground and fenced dog run," reports one camper about USI RV Park's dedicated pet facilities.
Alcohol restrictions: Not all campgrounds permit alcohol consumption. "The only real downside is that there is no alcohol allowed, but nobody really came around checking that we noticed," mentions a Santa Fe Lake visitor.
